Description

  • The invention relates to a milling tool for woodworking, in particular slot, peg or counter profile disk, with a milling cutter body, which has a recess for the respective knife, a clamping body to hold the knife in the recess, and clamping means for the clamping body. Such a milling tool is described for example by DE-A-22 09 236. In the milling tool shown there, the clamping body is fixed to the base of the recess with a pin. The clamping body has a number of teeth running parallel to the axis of rotation, which engage in corresponding grooves of the knife in order to fix it in the cutter body in such a way that the cutting edge of the knife is exactly on the desired flight circle. The clamping body is designed to be resilient, and a screw with a conical head serves as the clamping means, which presses the upper part of the clamping body against the knife when screwing in. The knife has a number of teeth on the side lying against the wall of the recess, which are arranged at a right angle to the grooves on the front side. These teeth engage in grooves in the milling cutter body. These teeth and grooves in the clamping body, the knife and the milling cutter body position and secure the knife in its position in the milling cutter body. This construction is relatively complicated and therefore expensive to manufacture. The accuracy of the positioning is adversely affected by the tolerances in the anchoring of the clamping body, the teeth of the clamping body and the grooves of the knife. There is also the risk that the accuracy of the positioning of the knife is influenced by dirt between the teeth of the clamping body and the grooves of the knife, or between the teeth of the knife and the grooves of the milling cutter body.
  • It is an object of the present invention to improve a milling tool of the type mentioned at the outset in order to enable simpler and more cost-effective production and to enable the knife or its cutting edge to be positioned with high accuracy.
  • According to the invention, this is achieved in that a bore is arranged in a wall of the cutout in the milling cutter body, which bore is cut from the cutout, that a heavy-duty spring pin is arranged in the bore, and that the knife is on the side with which it is attached to said wall abuts, has a groove which is resiliently in contact with the lateral surface of the center pin. This configuration allows a simple and relatively inexpensive manufacture of the milling cutter. If the milling tool of DE-A-22 09 236 had to be grooved with an elaborate special device for anchoring the knife in the milling cutter body, it is now sufficient to produce a hole for receiving the gravity pin. The shape of the clamping body and the knife is also considerably simpler than in the prior art. There is no need to anchor the clamp body with a pin.
  • The resilient tension pin ensures that the knife rests securely on the wall of the recess. This wall can be cleaned much better before inserting the knife than the grooves in the milling tool described at the beginning. This also contributes significantly to the precise positioning of the knife in the milling tool.
  • The groove of the knife advantageously has two side walls arranged at an angle to one another. This ensures that the knife is in linear contact with the lateral surface of the center pin, any small dirt particles in the groove cannot have a negative effect on the accuracy of the positioning of the knife.
  • The axis of the center pin is advantageously arranged in a plane running perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the milling tool. This enables simple construction. A screw, which has two threads with different directions of rotation, advantageously serves as the clamping means for the clamping body, one thread engaging in a threaded hole in the milling cutter body and one thread in a threaded hole in the clamping body. Thereby ensures that when the screw is loosened, the clamping body is lifted out of the recess and does not remain clamped in it.
  • The clamping body expediently has a form-locking element on the side which rests on the knife, which engages in a recess in the knife. This prevents the knife from falling out when the frictional forces are overcome. Furthermore, a stop for the knife can also be arranged in the recess in the cutter body. This allows an exact positioning of the knife or its cutting edge with respect to the flight circle diameter in the cutter body. This positioning depends only on the tolerance of the stop and the tolerance of the knife. The end of the knife opposite the cutting edge can be rounded in order to form an approximate punctiform or linear contact with the stop. This largely prevents any dirt particles between the stop and the knife from affecting the positioning accuracy.
  • The invention will now be described using an exemplary embodiment with reference to the drawing. It shows:

  • The milling tool shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 has a milling cutter body 11 which has a cutout 12 for the respective knife 13. A clamping body 15 serves to hold the knife 13 in the recess 12. A screw 17 serves as the clamping means for the clamping body 15. A bore 21 is arranged in a wall 19 of the recess 12 and is cut through by the recess. The gate depth is slightly less than half the hole diameter. The bore 21 serves to receive a heavy-duty spring pin 23.
  • As FIGS. 4 and 5 show, the knife 13 on the side 24 with which it rests on the wall 19 has a groove 27 which is in resilient contact with the lateral surface 29 of the gravity pin 23.
  • The groove 27 of the knife 13 has two side walls 60 arranged at an angle to one another.
  • The screw 17 serving as a clamping means for the clamping body 15 has two threads 31 and 33 with different directions of rotation. The thread 33 engages in a threaded hole 35 of the milling body 11. The thread 31 engages in a threaded hole 37 of the clamping body.
  • The clamping body 15 has a form-locking element 41 on the side 39, which engages in a recess 42 of the knife 13. A stop 43 for the knife 13 is arranged in the recess 12. As can be seen from FIG. 4, the end 49 of the knife opposite the cutting edge 47 is rounded in order to form an approximately point-like or linear contact with the stop 43.
  • The heavy-duty spring pin shown in FIGS. 6 and 7 represents a commercially available product, which is standardized, for example, by the VSM 12786 standard of the Association of Swiss Mechanical Engineers. The gravity pin has that Shape of a tube and has a slot 51, which is advantageously wave-shaped.
  • When the knife 13 is inserted, the screw 17, which has an inner torx or hexagon socket 53, is screwed into the threaded bores 35 and 37 with a socket wrench. The heavy-duty clamping pin 23 serves for the lateral positioning of the knife 13. The stop 43 positions the knife correctly in relation to the flight circle diameter 55. If, after tightening, the knife 13 bears against the wall 19, the heavy spring pin 23 rests resiliently on the side wall grooves 60 of the recess 27 of the knife 13.

Claims (7)

  1. Woodworking milling cutter, particularly slitting disc, tenon disc or counter profile disc, with a cutter body (11) having a recess (12) for the respective cutter knife (13), a clamping body (15) to hold the cutter knife (13) in the recess (12), and tension means (17) for the clamping body (13),
    characterised in that in the cutter body (11) a bore (21) is arranged, said bore being intersected by the plane of the wall (19) of the recess (12), in that a roll pin (23) is arranged in the bore (21), and in that the cutter blade (13), on the side (24) which engages the wall (19), has a groove (27) resiliently engaging the circumferential surface (29) of the roll pin (23).
  2. Milling cutter according to claim 1, characterised in that the groove (27) of the cutter knife (13) comprises two side walls (60) at an angle with respect to each other.
  3. Milling cutter according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the axis of the roll pin (23) is arranged in a plane perpendicular to the abutment (43).
  4. Milling cutter according to one of the claims 1 to 3 characterised in that as tension means a screw (17) is provided, said screw comprising two oppositely pitched threads (31,33), one thread (33) engaging a tapped hole (35) in the cutter body (11) and the other thread (31) engaging a tapped hole (37) in the clamping body (15).
  5. Milling cutter according to claim 1 to 4, characterised in that the clamping body (15), on the side (39) engaging the cutter knife (13), has a projection (41) engaging a recess (42) in the cutter knife.
  6. Milling cutter according to claim 1 to 5, characterised in that in the recess (12) of the cutter body (11) an abutment (43) for the cutter knife (13) is located.
  7. Milling cutter according to claim 6, characterised in that the end (49) of the cutter knife (13) opposite to the cutting edge (47) is rounded to form an approximately point or line contact with the abutment (43).
