Definitions
- the invention relates to a street sweeper with a suction blower, a suction nozzle and a pivoted waste bin, which has a waste inlet connected to the suction nozzle and an outlet for the suction air.
- a known solution according to EP-B1 0 327 483 provides a suction device for a self-propelled street sweeper with a chassis, a suction turbine and a collecting container for the suctioned rubbish.
- the suction turbine is mounted on a movable cover with a vertical axis above the collecting container. This lid is connected to a wall of the collecting container via an elastic member.
- CH-A5 678 342 (Konrad Peter), the state of the art also includes a street sweeper with at least one suction nozzle, a waste container, a suction device and a liquid line for guiding liquid from the waste container into the area of the suction nozzle and binding the dust to obtain the liquid.
- a closing element is arranged in the liquid line, which opens only when there is a suction air stream.
- the object of the present invention is to provide a street sweeper which has an improved separation of the sweepings from the suction air.
- this is achieved in a street sweeper of the type mentioned at the outset by means of a suction fan, the suction opening of which is mounted in the upper part of the refuse bin in such a way that it is turned away from the refuse inlet and from the collected refuse and is directed upward.
- An essential feature of the invention is that the cross section of the suction air flow in the upper part of the refuse container and before reaching the suction opening of the suction blower is substantially larger than the cross section of the suction opening.
- the advantages achieved by the invention are that blocking of the suction opening of the suction fan by the rubbish is very difficult, that part of the exhaust air can be reused by recycling and that good noise reduction is achieved.
- the street sweeper 1 shown comprises a chassis 2, a driver's cab 3, a waste bin 4 mounted on the chassis 2 and a suction device 5 which is mounted in a lid 6 of the waste bin 4.
- the waste bin 4 can be tipped backwards for emptying by means of a bearing 7.
- the garbage is collected by means of rotating brushes 8 in front of a suction nozzle 9 on the bottom 28 and from there reaches the garbage container 4 by means of a pipe 10, where it is directed towards the bottom of the container by means of a deflection plate 11.
- the rubbish bin 4 has a bottom 12 in which the rubbish 13 coming from the pipe 10 collects.
- the lid 6 of the refuse container 4 can be opened on hinges 14.
- the suction device 5 comprises a suction fan 15 which is mounted in the cover 6 approximately in the middle thereof.
- the suction opening 16 of the suction fan 15 is turned away from the waste inlet 17 of the pipe 10 and from the waste 18 collected in the floor 12 and is directed upwards.
- the suction fan 15 can suck in the air from the waste container 4 from all sides and therefore has an optimal effect.
- the cross section of the suction air flow, which comes from the refuse container 4 from below around the suction fan 15 to the suction opening 16, is thus in the upper part of the refuse container 4 and before reaching the suction opening 16, it is substantially larger than the cross section of the suction opening 16.
- FIGS. 2 and 3 show that at the level of the suction opening 16 of the suction blower 15 and around this suction opening, a separating grille 19 is mounted to retain the waste. In the area of this large suction air cross section, the entrainment of garbage is reduced due to the lower air speed, so that blocking of the separating grid 19 is less likely.
- the suction air flow has a homogeneous speed distribution around the suction fan 15, speed peaks which could cause sweeping do not occur here.
- a drive motor 20 of the suction fan 15 is mounted below it and inside the waste container 4. This means that no installation space is required above the waste bin 4, and the waste bin 4 together with the waste collected therein result in a substantially improved noise reduction.
- Fig. 4 shows an advantageous embodiment of the air supply and discharge to the refuse container 4 by means of the tube 10.
- a knee tube 22 is connected, in which a movable flap 23 is mounted.
- This flap 23 is adjustably mounted on an axis 24 and causes an outlet of the exhaust air of preferably between 25% and 100% via an opening 25 in the elbow 22.
- the remaining part of the exhaust air between 75% and 0% is led via a discharge pipe 26 to a unit 27 on the floor 28 comprising the suction nozzle 9 (see FIG. 1).
- This portion of the exhaust air which is returned through the discharge pipe 26 is used in the assembly 27 in order to determine the absorption effect for the waste, e.g. in the form of dust.
- the opening 25 in the knee tube 22 is opened completely by means of the flap 23. No air is now returned and the suction nozzle 9 can be lifted up without scattering the waste, as e.g. when large amounts of leaves are ingested.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a street sweeper with a suction blower, a suction nozzle and a pivoted waste bin, which has a waste inlet connected to the suction nozzle and an outlet for the suction air.
In street sweepers of this type, the problem is known that the separation of the suctioned refuse from the suction air that is expelled again is insufficient. The noise shielding of the blower and motor has also been unsatisfactory to date. A known solution according to EP-B1 0 327 483 (Mathieu Sofraflor) provides a suction device for a self-propelled street sweeper with a chassis, a suction turbine and a collecting container for the suctioned rubbish. The suction turbine is mounted on a movable cover with a vertical axis above the collecting container. This lid is connected to a wall of the collecting container via an elastic member.
According to CH-A5 678 342 (Konrad Peter), the state of the art also includes a street sweeper with at least one suction nozzle, a waste container, a suction device and a liquid line for guiding liquid from the waste container into the area of the suction nozzle and binding the dust to obtain the liquid. A closing element is arranged in the liquid line, which opens only when there is a suction air stream.
The object of the present invention is to provide a street sweeper which has an improved separation of the sweepings from the suction air.
According to the invention, this is achieved in a street sweeper of the type mentioned at the outset by means of a suction fan, the suction opening of which is mounted in the upper part of the refuse bin in such a way that it is turned away from the refuse inlet and from the collected refuse and is directed upward.
An essential feature of the invention is that the cross section of the suction air flow in the upper part of the refuse container and before reaching the suction opening of the suction blower is substantially larger than the cross section of the suction opening.
Further features of the invention are characterized in the claims.
The advantages achieved by the invention are that blocking of the suction opening of the suction fan by the rubbish is very difficult, that part of the exhaust air can be reused by recycling and that good noise reduction is achieved.

As shown in FIG. 1, the
As shown in FIG. 2, the
This arrangement of the suction opening 16 has significant advantages. The
The top view according to FIGS. 2 and 3 shows that at the level of the suction opening 16 of the
In addition, due to the arrangement of the separating
Fig. 1) umfassenden Baueinheit 27 am Boden 28 geführt.Fig. 4 shows an advantageous embodiment of the air supply and discharge to the
This portion of the exhaust air which is returned through the
