Description

  • The invention relates to an articulated hinge for doors or windows, in particular for glass swing doors, with two hinge parts which are hinged together about a hinge axis, and a locking device located within the hinge, which consists of one in one of the two hinge parts against the action of a spring there is a movably guided latching body and at least one latching recess arranged in the other band part, the latching body engaging resiliently in the latching recess in the latching position.
  • Such an articulated hinge is known from French patent specification 2 343 111 and from the brochure "Stardouch" shower tapes from Marc Robin, Stuttgart. The hinge offers the possibility of snapping into one or more positions of the door or the flap and thus replaces additional attachments that disrupt the aesthetics or make the production more expensive. Such a hinge can replace a stop and a snap-in device, such as a magnetic catch, when the door is closed, or define an opening angle to which the door is independently fixed. Where the wing hinge part is attached to the door, glass doors usually have a recess into which a part of the wing hinge part designed as a supporting body is inserted. Clamping plates can be screwed onto the support body on both sides, which project over the support body and the recess in the glass door and clamp the glass pane of the door between them. To protect the glass, these clamping plates are covered with elastic pads. The hinge can consist of two such hinge parts that can be attached to glass panes that connect the door to a fixed glass wall, as well as a hinge hinge part and a hinge part that can be screwed to a wall.
  • The latching position of the hinges is dependent on the spatial arrangement of the latching body in one of the two hinges and the latching recess in depending on the other joint ligament. This spatial arrangement is specified by the manufacturer, so that it is not possible to adapt to the geometrical requirements at the installation site that deviate from the desired state. These differing requirements are, for example, imprecisely bricked, not exactly right-angled walls. Another disadvantage of the fixed latching position is the need to have to produce a special embodiment for each desired angle at which the joint band is to snap in. In order to be able to guarantee this angle, high manufacturing accuracy is also required.
  • From EP-A-0 487 489 a shop hinge is known with a cone for stick mounting and with a shop-side band part carrying a band sleeve and with a locking device which engages between the cone and the shop-side band part and which is attached to the outside of the shop band. To adjust the relative position of the locking device to the cone, an adjusting device, for example an adjusting screw, is arranged between the locking device and the cone. The locking device consists of a snapper with a locking lug, which is arranged in a fixed position on the cone, and a locking part with a recess for receiving the locking lug, which is positively and non-positively connected to the belt part on the shop side. The catch is pressed into the locked position by a spring and can be released by hand against the action of the spring. With the help of the adjustment device, it is possible that after the locking of the locking device the shutter can be adjusted so that it fits snugly against its wall-side support.
  • It is an object of the invention to provide an articulated hinge of the type mentioned, in which the adjustment of the locking position of the door or window sash in the assembled state, that is under load, is possible in an angular range of more than 180 ° and the locking device and the Locking device are housed in a confined space within the belt parts.
  • This object is achieved according to the invention in that the latching recess is attached to the circumference of a rotary body which is rotatably mounted about the hinge axis in the other band part mentioned above and can be locked via an adjusting screw accessible from one side of the hinge band, and in that the adjusting screw is conical Tip can be adjusted against a pressure body, which rests on the circumference of the rotary body and is guided in a bore arranged in the other band part mentioned above and tapering towards the rotary body.
  • With the help of the hinge according to the invention, it is possible to adjust the locking position of the door leaf even under load. For this purpose, the door leaf is pivoted until the locking body engages in the locking recess. Then the laterally accessible adjusting screw is loosened and the door leaf is pivoted into the desired latching position, the latching body snapped into the latching recess taking the rotating body with it. The rotating body is then fixed in this position by means of the adjusting screw and the pressing body.
  • Further details and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following description, in which an embodiment of the hinge is explained in more detail with reference to the drawing.

  • In Fig. 1, an articulated hinge is shown, which consists of a fixed hinge part 1 and a wing hinge part 2. Such a hinge is used, for example, to fasten glass doors in shower cubicles. The fixed band part 1 has a bearing block 13 for receiving the hinge axis 3. This bearing block 13 is either attached directly to a wall or connected to a screw-on plate 12 which can be screwed onto a wall. The wing hinge part 2 has a support body 14 and two clamping plates 15, 15 ', which can be screwed onto the two side surfaces of the support body 14. The clamping plates 15, 15 'project over the supporting body 14 so that a glass door, which has a recess for receiving the supporting body 14 and is somewhat thicker than the supporting body 14, can be clamped between the clamping plates 15, 15' by the clamping plates 15, 15 'are screwed together. For this purpose, 14 through holes 19, 19 'are provided in the support body. In order to reduce voltage peaks and to avoid damage to the glass pane, rubber layers are arranged as elastic cushions between the clamping plates 15, 15 'and the glass door.
  • The hinge has an adjustable latching device with a latching recess 6 arranged on a rotating body 7 and a latching body 5 which engages in the latching recess 6 in a resilient manner. The locking body 5 has an axis 11 projecting on both sides of the locking body 5, on which the force of the two springs 4 and 4 'acts. The springs 4 and 4 'are rubber springs, alternatively coil springs can also be used will. The rotary body 7 is rotatable about the hinge axis 3 and can be determined via a spherical pressure body 10 arranged in a bore in the bearing block 13.
  • At right angles to the pressure body 10 formed by a ball, a set screw 9 is screwed into a threaded bore 8 in the bearing block 13, which presses with its conical region against the side of the pressure body 10 facing away from the rotary body 7, so that it is pressed against the rotary body 7 and detects the rotating body 7. The set screw 9 is easily accessible even when the glass door is installed. The rotating body 7 is diaboloidal and the locking body 5 has a spherical outer contour adapted to the diabolic shape of the rotating body 7. This results on the one hand in a closable line pressure between the locking body 5 and the rotating body 7, and on the other hand a centering of the locking body 5 on the rotating body 7 during the pivoting movement of the glass door.
  • The locking body 5 is rotatably arranged in the support body 14 so that it rolls on the outer contour of the rotary body 7 during the pivoting movement of the hinge. The engagement of the latching body 5 in the latching recess 6 is also facilitated by the rolling of the latching body 5. A simpler embodiment consists of a fixed latching body 5 which slides over the contour of the rotating body 7 during the movement of the hinge. However, this results in higher wear or higher demands on the materials used.
  • In order to cushion the locking of the locking body 5 into the locking recess 6 and to reduce the noise associated therewith, the locking body 5 is made of an elastic plastic. In the case of a rotary body 7 made of a material that is considerably harder than the locking body 5, this either sets an at least partially rotatable one Locking body 5 or a not sharp-edged limitation of the locking recess 6 ahead, otherwise a high wear of the locking body 5 would be the result.
  • Fig. 5 shows a glass-glass hinge with an alternative embodiment of the locking device. This hinge is used to articulate a glass door with a fixed, thin glass wall.
  • The locking device consists of a cylindrical locking body 5 which is rotatably mounted on a sliding body 16. The sliding body 16 is guided displaceably in a recess in the band part 1 and is pressed against the rotating body 7 by a helical spring 4. Due to the precise guidance of the sliding body 16, the diabolic shape of the rotating body 7 and the spherical shape of the locking body 5 are unnecessary, since centering of the locking body 5 is not necessary. The favorable line pressure between the locking body 5 and the rotating body 7 is achieved by a cylindrical shape of the locking body 5 and the rotating body 7.
  • The end of the spring 4 facing the sliding body 16 projects into the latter, whereby a longer sliding body 16 can be used with the same length of the spring 4. This improves the guiding accuracy of the sliding body 16.
  • The embodiment shown in FIG. 5 has a cross-sectional enlargement 17 of the support body 14 in the area of the spring 4 and the sliding body 16, so that sufficient material is available for arranging a bore which is as large as possible in diameter and accommodates the sliding body 16 and the spring 4. The clamping plates 15, 15 'are provided with recesses 18 into which the area of the cross-sectional enlargement 17 protrudes so that the joint band remains as slim as possible. The thickness of the entire hinge including the clamping plates 15, 15 'is thus available for the guide bore of the sliding body 16.
  • 6 shows an articulated band with continuous recesses 18. If the size of the cross-sectional enlargement 17 permits, the recesses 18 can also be depressions in the sides of the clamping plates 15, 15 ′ facing the support body 14. Because the clamping plates 15, 15 'should be as flat as possible for aesthetic reasons, the screws which connect the clamping plates 15, 15' are screwed on the thread side into threaded connections 20 which are fastened to the clamping plate 15 on the side facing the supporting body 14.
  • In Fig. 7, a band part 2 is shown, the support body 14 is integrally connected to one of the clamping plates 15 '. This has the advantage that on one side of the band part 2, due to the cross-sectional enlargement 17 of the support body 14, no additional edges or gaps that disturb the aesthetics arise. Another advantage of this design is the reduced number of individual parts, which simplifies assembly and reduces the production costs of the hinge. The connection of the second clamping plate 15 to the supporting body 14 is carried out by means of screws which can be screwed into threads cut into the supporting body 14. The connecting screw 21 passed through the glass pane is screwed into a threaded connector 20 which is connected in one piece to the clamping plate 15 '.

Claims (10)

  1. Hinge for doors or windows, more especially for glass swing doors, with two hinge parts (1 and 2), which are connected together as a hinge about a hinge axis (3), and a locking device which is inside the hinge, and which is composed of a locking body (5) which is movably led in one of the hinge parts (2 or 1) against the action of a spring (4), and at least one locking cavity (6) which is arranged in the other hinge part (1 or 2), wherein the locking body (5) engages in spring-loaded manner in the locking cavity (6), characterised in that the locking cavity (6) is fixed to the circumference of a rotating body (7), which is mounted in the above-mentioned other hinge part (1 or 2) so as to rotate about the hinge axis (3) and can be locked by means of an adjusting screw (9) which is accessible from one side of the hinge, and that the adjusting screw (9) can be positioned with a conical tip against a pressure body (10), which butts against the circumference of the rotating body (7) and is led in a bore which is arranged in the above-mentioned other hinge part (1 or 2) and runs towards the rotating body (7).
  2. Hinge as claimed in Claim 1, characterised in that the pressure body (10) is a ball and the adjusting screw (9) with the conical tip is led so that it can be positioned against the ball on the side which is turned away from the rotating body (7), in a threaded bore (8) which runs at right angles to the hinge axis.
  3. Hinge as claimed in Claim 1 or Claim 2, characterised in that the locking body (5) is composed of plastic, more especially polyamide.
  4. Hinge as claimed in one of Claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the rotating body (7) has a diabolo shape and the locking body (5) is provided with a spherical contact surface which is matched to the shape of the diabolo.
  5. Hinge as claimed in one of Claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the locking body (5) has an axis (11) which projects from the locking body (5) on both sides, and which is supported on rubber springs (4 and 4') at its ends.
  6. Hinge as claimed in one of Claims 1 to 5, characterised in that one hinge part (1 or 2) is designed as a hinge part which has to be fastened to a wall, with a screw-on plate (12) and a pillow block (13) for accepting the hinge axis (3) and the rotating body (7), and the other hinge part (2 or 1) is designed as a leaf hinge part.
  7. Hinge for glass doors, as claimed in one of Claims 1 to 6, characterised in that at least one hinge part (1 or 2) has a supporting body (14) which can be inserted in a cavity of a glass pane, and two clamping plates (15 and 15') which extend beyond the supporting body (14) and are lined with cushioned layers, and between which the glass pane can be clamped.
  8. Hinge for glass doors, as claimed in Claim 7, characterised in that the locking body (5) is mounted on a sliding body (16) which is led in the supporting body (14) so as to be shiftable at right angles to the hinge axis, and the sliding body (16) with the locking body (5) is held by the spring (4) in abutment against the rotating body (7).
  9. Hinge for glass doors, as claimed in Claim 8, characterised in that the sliding body (16) is a cylindrical bush which in diameter is roughly as large as or larger than the spacing of the clamping plates (15 and 15') from each other, and the spring (4) is a helical spring which is partly accommodated in this bush, and the part of the supporting body (14) which accepts the sliding body (16) has a cross-section enlargement (17) at right angles to the plane of the supporting body (14), which enlargement engages in a cavity (18) of at least one clamping plate (15).
  10. Hinge for glass doors, as claimed in Claim 8 or Claim 9, characterised in that one of the clamping plates (15') is connected in one piece to the supporting body (14).
