Abstract

In the pressure treatment of granular material in the roller gap (15) of a two-roller machine, air (17) is pressed out of the bulk material and flows, counter to the material flow, through the bulk material and loosens the latter in the process. As a result of a widening of the lower part of the material feed shaft (12), the bulk material can form a slope (16) and is conveyed in a free flow to the roller gap (15), unhindered by the air flowing towards it and by friction against the shaft wall. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention is directed to a two-roll machine, in particular a high-pressure roll press for pressure treatment of granular goods, with two rolls driven in opposite directions and separated from one another by a roll nip, a feed chute being arranged above the roll nip. The invention further relates to a method for operating such a two-roll machine.

During operation of the high-pressure roller press for compacting or crushing granular material, the bulk material fed to the nip is gripped by the oppositely driven rollers and drawn into the nip by friction (friction within the bulk material and friction between bulk material and the roller surface). The individual particles of the drawn bulk material are mutually crushed in a material bed, ie in a material bed compressed between the two roller surfaces when using extremely high pressure, so that one speaks of the so-called material bed comminution (DE-PS 27 08 053). The product of this pressure treatment are agglomerates made from shredded bulk material, which can then be broken down with little mechanical effort. Simultaneously with the formation of agglomerates, the air that was originally present in the bulk material is pressed out of the bed. It escapes through the material column formed from the bulk material against the direction of material flow, as a result of which the bulk material is loosened up considerably in the feed area of the rollers when fine-grained bulk goods are pressed, with the result that the material feed is deteriorated and the throughput and the degree of comminution are reduced.

To solve the venting problem with high proportions of fine-grained bulk material, DE-OS 38 06 398 proposes to subdivide the feed hopper and to feed the coarse and fine material separately to the nip, the coarse material bed being kept so low that the air pressed out by it low and large pore fill can easily escape.

A disadvantage of this known method is that it can only be used if the coarse material and the fine material are present separately from one another before the pressure treatment and furthermore that the possibility of forming an inhomogeneous material bed cannot be ruled out by the separate feeding of coarse and fine material can.

Furthermore, it has been shown as a disadvantage of known two-roll machines that the lateral pressure of the bulk material supported on the roller surfaces against the inner wall of the material feed chute results in high wall friction resistances which prevent the bulk material from flowing into the nip. This is especially true if the level in the feed chute is very high.

From US-A-4,033,559 a two-roll machine for compacting pellet-shaped or lumpy iron sponge is known with a feed chute that widens conically below a slide and whose outflow is controlled by means of a metering flap reaching deep into the roll gap so that the bulk material only immediately above one of the two rollers emerges below the metering flap, whereby the bulk material is conveyed into the roller gap as a result of the rotation of the roller and the intake of the coarse-grained material is thus improved. A disadvantage of this known feed chute is that within the shaft formed from the side walls and the metering flap, the compressed air must flow through the entire bed and the problem of wall friction is not solved.

The invention is therefore based on the object, a two-roll machine, such as. B. high-pressure roller press, with an improved feed behavior while avoiding the disadvantages of known device.

This object is achieved according to the invention with a two-roll machine and an operating method, which is characterized by advantageous configurations in claims 1 to 5.

Due to the step-like widening of the lower part of the feed chute according to the invention over the entire roll length, the bulk material in this widened part can form an embankment in the free flow according to its angle of embankment, as a result of which a free space is formed between this embankment and the walls of the feed chute. By eliminating the wall friction in this area and the short path that the compressed air now only has to cover in order to emerge laterally from the bulk material on the slope surface, an ideal inflow of the bulk material to the roller gap is achieved and the pull-in behavior of the bulk material is significantly improved. It is important that the air emerges from the side of the bulk material column, i. H. at an angle to the conveying direction of the bulk material, whereby the loosening of the bulk material above the nip is largely avoided. By using adjustable slides in the lower part of the feed chute, it is possible to change the height of the embankment during operation of the two-roll machine and thus compensate for changes in the bulk material that affect the feeding behavior.

According to the invention, it is also possible to form further bulk material embankments by arranging controllable flaps in the lower part of the material feed chute, as a result of which a further influence on the inflow of the bulk material to the roller gap is made possible.

According to the invention, the air emerging from the bulk material embankments can be supplied to a dedusting device via a suction line. Due to the negative pressure that forms in the free space above the bulk material slope, the air escape from the bulk material is additionally favored at this point.

Further details, features and advantages of the invention result from the following explanations of exemplary embodiments shown in the drawing figures.

As shown in FIG. 1, there is a feed chute (12) above the rolls (10, 11) of a two-roll machine. In the lower part of the feed chute (12), the side wall (13) arranged in the axial direction of the roller is offset parallel to the upper side wall (14), as a result of which the lower part of the feed chute (12) is widened. The lower part of the feed hopper (12) is arranged centrally above the nip (15) formed by the two rollers (10, 11). The bulk material forms an embankment (16) in the lower part of the material feed shaft, through which the air (17) escapes into the space formed by the bulk material and the walls of the material feed shaft (12), from where it does not lead to a suction line (18) shown dedusting device is suctioned off. The height of the embankment can be changed by means of an adjustable slide (19) and thus the different feeding behavior of the bulk material can be adapted.

In the case of double-sided widening of the feed chute (12), as shown in FIG. 2, it is also possible to adjust the height of the slides (19, 19 ') differently, so that different embankment heights (16, 16') result, resulting in a Different pulling in of the bulk material as a result of segregation in the feed hopper (12) - recognizable by different power consumption of the driven rollers (10, 11) - can be compensated.

The arrangement of flaps (20, 20 ') in the lower widened part of the feed chute (12), as shown in FIG. 3, allows the free flow of bulk material which is caused by the formation of the embankment (16) to be braked again in a controlled manner are, so that here a finely tuned control unit for optimal coordination of the intake behavior of the bulk material is available. At the same time, the flaps (20, 20 ') create new slopes (21, 21') through which additional air can escape from the bulk material.

The examples listed represent possible forms of performance, but they can be combined with one another as desired. For example, the feed hopper (12) according to FIG. 2 can also be provided with flaps (20, 20 ') according to FIG. 3.

The two-roll machine according to the invention can not only be used as a high-pressure roller press for pressure comminution of granular material, but it can also be used for pressure treatment, such as for B. for the compaction of potash and / or rock salts or the like.
