Definitions
- the present invention relates to a fluid dispenser, and its manufacturing process.
- Patent EP 0 251 863 filed in 1987 by the company VALOIS teaches to associate them with a reservoir of deformable product such as for example a plastic tube.
- a reservoir of deformable product such as for example a plastic tube.
- the emission of the dose caused by the actuation of the pump is accompanied by a corresponding flattening of the tube, under the combined effect of the atmospheric pressure prevailing around the deformable reservoir and the depression created by the pump. inside the deformable tank.
- This type of distributor has other advantages.
- the product can be stored in the tank away from air, which eliminates the risks of its oxidation or contamination.
- the dispenser also works regardless of its position relative to the vertical.
- Distributors are also known having a double-walled tank with a flexible internal wall and a rigid external wall, which are produced by co-extrusion blow-molding of the two walls, and welding by simultaneous pinching of the bottom of the two walls, the welding of the rigid outer wall being non-airtight to allow the entry of air between the two walls.
- Such a distributor must be produced according to a very delicate process to master, since the two walls must not be welded to each other during blowing, and the welding of the bottom of the external wall is not waterproof while the weld at the bottom of the internal wall must be waterproof.
- the materials that can be used for the inner and outer walls are very limited.
- the co-extrusion process generally involves blowing air between the two walls after they have been put in place. shape to peel them off from each other: this increases the cost of implementing the process.
- Document EP-A-0 486 355 discloses a dispenser provided with a dispensing pump mounted on a reservoir formed by an inner flexible bag welded at its lower end and containing the product to be dispensed, and a rigid shell surrounding the flexible pocket.
- the present invention relates to a fluid dispenser comprising a pump without air intake, mounted in leaktight manner on a deformable reservoir, and an outer envelope which surrounds the deformable reservoir and which retains a shape suitable for gripping throughout the duration of use of the dispenser, said outer envelope defining an interior volume which communicates with the atmosphere by at least one air passage, the deformable reservoir being a flexible tube which extends between a first end forming a bottom and a second end secured to the pump, characterized in that the outer casing is a flexible tube extending between a first end close to the bottom of the reservoir, and a second end in mechanical connection with the second end of the deformable reservoir, the first end of the outer casing being closed by pinching.
- the outer envelope may be transparent and / or bear signs.
- the device according to the invention comprises a deformable inner tube 20, and a flexible outer tube 30.
- the two tubes 20 and 30 are concentric, as can be seen in FIG. 1a.
- the tube 20 can be made of single or multi-layer plastic material, of metal, in particular of low aluminum thickness, or in multilayer material with one or more layers of metal (aluminum for example) and one or more layers of plastic.
- the inner tube 20 is preferably plastically deformable, that is to say without shape memory or with a weak shape memory, but the invention is not limited as to the mode of deformation of the tube 20, provided that it can be flattened under the effect of the suction of the pump 10.
- the outer tube 30 can be made of any flexible material, for example in a plastic material such as polyethylene.
- the tubes 20 and 30 each extend between a lower end, 20a and 30a respectively, and an upper extremity, 20b and 30b respectively.
- the terms "lower” and “upper”, as used herein, are not limiting, but only indicate the position of the ends in Figures 1 and 2, for clarity.
- the tubes 20 and 30 are welded together by pinching at their lower ends 20a and 30a, thereby forming a bottom 33 of the tank.
- the upper end 20a of the inner tube 30 has a more rigid end piece 21.
- the end piece 21 can be formed in one piece with the tube 20, the rigidity of the end piece being simply obtained by a greater thickness of material.
- the end piece 21 can also be an insert on the tube 20 by welding or a molded part at the upper end 20a of the tube 20, the tube 20 can then be simply obtained by extruding a tube and cutting this tube to predetermined intervals before attachment to the end piece 21.
- a push button 40 is in this embodiment engaged by means of an inner sleeve 42 on the rod 12 for actuating the pump 10. It may include a lateral outlet 43 while its lateral wall 41 is for example adapted to slide inside the nozzle 21.
- the pump could be tightly fixed to the nozzle 21 by any other known means: force fitting, crimping, overmolding of the nozzle 21 on the pump body, etc. ..
- the upper end 30a of the outer tube 30 has a relatively rigid neck 31 which throttles the tube.
- Figure 3 shows in more detail this neck 31 and the way in which it collaborates with the end piece 21. It simply applies to the lower shoulder of this end piece 21, enclosing the latter.
- the connection thus produced is not leaktight and leaves an air passage 36. This keeps the intermediate space 32 between the two tubes at atmospheric pressure. Therefore, it is possible to dispense the product 22 contained in the inner tube 20 by actuation of the pump. This determines each time an additional flattening of the inner tube 20 which takes the typical shape shown in particular in Figures 2 and 1a.
- the outer tube 30 does not undergo this deformation. It keeps from one end to the other of the use of the dispenser a bulging shape, better suited to gripping.
- the outer tube 30 with its neck 31 is manufactured separately. It is advantageously made of polyethylene which is flexible enough to lend itself to the pinching necessary for welding the bottom 33, but also rigid enough to offer a good grip to the user. In some cases, it may be advantageous to keep a translucent or transparent polyethylene in order to allow, for example, the verification of the quantity of product remaining in the inner tube 20. In other cases, on the contrary, the outer tube 30 preferably carries signs (brand reproduction, decoration etc.). Therefore, the method for applying these signs can be chosen without fear of damaging the pump in particular. In addition, the screen printing methods commonly used for decorating tubes have a fairly high reject rate which can reach 6%. By performing the screen printing on the outer tube 30, it avoids throwing 6% of the pumps mounted on the inner tubes 20, which represents a significant gain.
- the neck 31 can be urged against the shoulder 21a during welding, in order to create a prestress which promotes an assembly without play of the two tubes 20 and 30.
- the respective ends 20a and 30a of the tubes 20 and 30 can be welded separately. This can be advantageous in particular if the welding conditions of the two tubes 20 and 30 are too different, preventing them from being welded together by pinching.
- a wider variety of materials can be used for the tubes 20 and 30.
- a bottom 33b is first welded to the end 20a of the inner tube 20 and then a bottom 33a is welded to the end 30a of the outer tube 30.
- the bottom 33a is welded in the immediate vicinity of the bottom 33b, to avoid play in the assembly between the tubes 20 and 30.
- the neck 31 can be urged against the shoulder 21a during welding of the bottom 33a, in order to create a prestress which favors an assembly without play of the two tubes 20 and 30.
- the tubes 20 and 30 are integral with the end piece 21 by their respective ends 20b and 30b.
- the tubes 20 and 30 can be formed in one piece with the end piece 21, or they can be fixed to the end piece 21: for example, the ends 20b and 30b can be fixed to the end piece 21 by welding, or the end piece 21 can be molded onto the ends 20b and 30b.
- the ends 20a and 30a can be welded together or separately, as seen previously.
- an air inlet orifice 34 is drilled in the outer tube 30.
- a needle is introduced into the end 30a of the tube 30, outside the tube 20, before the bottom 33 is welded. When welding, the two pinched edges of the end 30a are not welded together at the location of the needle. After withdrawal of the needle, there remains an orifice 32 for air intake.
