Abstract

The invention relates to a crate for transporting articles (6) of substantially cylindrical cross-sectional shape, such as bottles, cans or the like, whose interior has rows of columns (12) which are fixed to the crate bottom in the gap between a plurality of insertion places. The object of the present invention is to provide a crate for transporting articles of substantially cylindrical cross-sectional shape, in which the bottle insertion places are arranged very closely adjacently and into which crate the bottles are easily guided by columns with their upper roof-shaped end towards the bottle insertion places provided when sliding in. The invention consists in the fact that the columns (12) are of dumbbell-shape in cross-section, that the longitudinal axes (18) of the column cross-sections run obliquely relative to the side walls of the crate, that the columns are arranged in straight rows running perpendicular to one another, and that the columns have the same oblique position in one row direction and have an oblique position with an alternating direction of the longitudinal axis in the other row direction. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a transport box for goods of substantially cylindrical cross-sectional shape, such as bottles, cans or the like, the interior of which has rows of columns which are fastened in the space between a plurality of parking spaces on the box bottom.

Such transport boxes have become known in various embodiments. The pillars, also called quills, are arranged in straight, intersecting rows, the parking spaces for the goods located between them are also arranged in straight, intersecting rows. This arrangement requires a relatively large amount of space per bottle storage space.

A lower space requirement per bottle storage location has become known for bottle crates, the interior of which is divided by compartment walls arranged in a honeycomb manner. The denser arrangement of the bottle storage spaces is associated with these boxes with a honeycomb inner wall arrangement, that they have problems with automatic loading. Because with the very dense arrangement of the bottle storage spaces, it happens again and again that when the box is loaded, bottles sliding into the box meet the inner walls.

Columns in the interior of the bottle crate have the advantage that, because they are tapered to the top, they guide the bottles sliding into the bottle crate to the designated place.

The invention avoids the disadvantages of the prior art. It is the object of the present invention to provide a transport box for transport goods of substantially cylindrical cross-sectional shape, in which the bottle storage spaces are arranged very close to one another and in which the bottles are easily guided by columns with their upper roof-shaped closure onto the intended bottle storage spaces when sliding in .

The invention consists in that the columns are dumbbell-shaped in cross section, that the longitudinal axes of the column cross sections run obliquely to the box side walls, that the columns are arranged in straight rows running perpendicular to one another, and that the columns have the same inclination in one row direction and in the other Row direction an inclination with changing longitudinal axis direction.

In this transport box, the transport goods of essentially cylindrical cross-sectional shape easily slide onto the parking spaces when the box is filled, because the roofs of the columns guide the transport goods to these places. The special cross-sectional shape of the columns and their special arrangement ensure that the goods to be transported are very close to one another and thus much goods to be transported can be accommodated on a small floor area. The bottle parking spaces are arranged in a similar way as is known from bottle crates with a honeycomb inner wall arrangement.

It is expedient if the cross-sectional shape of the columns is determined by four surfaces that are curved toward the center of the column, two opposite longer ones and two opposite shorter ones. In this way, a very solid column shape is achieved, which is such that the goods placed in the transport box of essentially cylindrical cross-sectional shape are very dense, but still at a distance.

It is useful if the radius of the curved surfaces is slightly larger than the radius of the goods to be adjusted.

It is advantageous if the inclination is determined by an angle of the longitudinal axis of the cross sections of the columns to the side walls of the box from 35 o to 55 o , preferably 45 o .

For the stability of the box, it is advantageous if at least two opposite side walls are double-walled and the inner wall has indentations for receiving bottles.

However, there is also the possibility of making the bottle crate single-walled and to provide hollow columns on the walls which engage a little in the space between two bottles.

For the floor formation, it is advantageous if the floor consists of plates supporting the columns and of these plates with webs connecting them and with the side walls, the webs being arranged in straight rows which run through the centers of the plates and being parallel to the rows in the device further rows between the edge areas of the plates are arranged alternately on one side and on the other side of the central webs.

The essence of the invention is explained below with reference to an embodiment shown schematically in the drawing. Show it:

The bottle crate consists of two opposite longitudinal side walls 1, 2 and two end side walls 3. The longitudinal side walls 1, 2 are double-walled, they consist of an outer longitudinal side wall 1 and an inner longitudinal side wall 2. The inner longitudinal side wall 2 has indentations 4 where bottle storage spaces 5 are located. The circumference of the cylindrical goods to be conveyed is indicated by a strongly drawn ring 6. The bottom of the bottle crate consists of webs 7, 8, 9 which connect plate-shaped disks 11 to one another and to the side walls. These plate-shaped disks 11 carry columns 12. These columns 12 have in their longitudinal axis in their roof 13 a hole 14, which is present for reasons of shape. This hole 14 marks the location of the longitudinal axis of the column.

The webs 7 run between the plate-shaped disks 11 through their longitudinal axes and extend to the side walls. Perpendicular to this, webs 8 run between the individual plate-shaped disks 11 in straight lines and connect the plate-shaped disks 11 to one another and to the side walls 1, 2. Parallel to the webs 7, further webs 9, 10 are arranged, which likewise each have two plate-shaped disks 11 to one another and connect to the end walls 3. These additional webs 9 are once on the one side of the central web 7, the other time on the other side, wherever the narrow side walls 15 of the columns 12 face each other, because the narrow side walls 15 of the columns 12 are located close to the edge of the plate-shaped disks 11 and therefore for the set There is little space for goods to be transported at this point. Through these webs 9 and 10, the transported goods receive support. The goods to be transported thus stand on webs 9 or 10 and on the relatively large plate surface parts 17. The goods to be transported therefore stand on the floor at three locations, namely on two plate surface parts 17 and a web 9 or 10.

The columns 12 are hollow. They are constructed from four wedge cylinder surfaces, namely from narrow side walls 15 and longitudinal side walls 16, which merge into the roof 13 at their upper end without a shoulder. As a result, the cross-section of the pillars takes the form of a jacket, namely a body that widens towards the ends.

The arrangement of the columns is very special. The columns are all slanted in the box. The longitudinal axis 18 of their cross section is inclined, namely at an angle of 45 o to the box side walls and to the imaginary connecting lines between the column longitudinal axes. In one row direction, namely parallel to the end walls 3, these longitudinal axes 18 of the cross sections of the columns 12 have the same direction, they all run parallel to one another. In the other row direction, namely in the direction parallel to the longitudinal side walls 1, 2, the inclined position of the longitudinal axes 18 changes from one column to the adjacent column. Compared to the straight line connecting the longitudinal axes of the columns, the longitudinal axis of the column cross-section is +45 o at one time and -45 o at the other.

This arrangement and position of the columns ensures that each cylindrical item to be transported is held by two narrow side walls 15 of two columns 12 and by two longitudinal side walls 16 of two columns 12. In this way it is achieved that the bottle placement spaces between two opposite side walls are not in a straight, but in an offset arrangement.

The end walls 3 are not double-walled, but only single-walled. They have hollow columns 19 on their inside which protrude into part of the space between two parking spaces 5.

In the corners, the set goods to be transported are held on the one hand by the longitudinal side wall 16 of a column 12, and on the other hand by the bulge 20.

In order to give the bottom of the box greater stability, it may be expedient for inner walls 21, 22 to be provided in at least one row of columns (12) which are parallel to a side wall (2, 3) and which are located at the point of the smallest distance extend from one column corner 23 to the next or extend from one column corner 23 to the side wall 2, 3.

Where there is little space between the bottle storage spaces for inner walls 21, 22, it is expedient for the inner walls 22 to be narrower in the middle than at their edges which merge into the column corners 23. This is preferably the case in the row extending from the end wall to the end wall.

In the illustrated embodiment of Figure 3, a row of inner walls extends in the middle of the box parallel to the side walls.
