Definitions
- the invention relates to an electrical connection element for electrically connecting two conductors extending in perpendicular directions.
- the connecting element is of the type comprising a first electrical connecting member with two wings each having a flared slot at its part opening at its end and a second electrical connecting member with two wings each having a slot opening by widening on their free edge, the slots of the first electrical connection member being turned in a direction opposite to that of the slots of the second electrical connection member, said connection element being characterized in that the first electrical connection member assumes the shape of a U with a core connecting the two wings, the second electrical connection member assumes the shape of a U with a core connecting the two wings, one of the wings of the first electrical connection member comprising, in the vicinity of the core, a connection strip extending, substantially perpendicularly, to the edge of said wing and secured to one of the wings of the second connection member electric near the core of said second member, the connecting strip being bent so that the slots of the first member are aligned in a direction substantially perpendicular to the alignment of the slots of the second member.
- the longitudinal edges of the wings of at least one of the members include a step.
- Such an arrangement ensures simple fixing of the connecting element in a housing.
- the edges of the slots are sharp in the vicinity of the free ends of the wings.
- the invention also relates to a branch connector using the connecting element as above defined, said connector being of the type comprising two half-shells and an intermediate element intended to be inserted between said half-shells, means for assembling the half-shells with the intermediate element, said intermediate element comprising a series of conduits opening on its two faces and intended to each receive a connecting element, stops being provided for wedging said connecting elements in the conduits so that the ends of the wings of the first member protrude at one of the ends of the conduits and the ends of the wings of the second member project from the other end of the conduits, said connector being characterized in that the bottom of the half-shells has a depth corresponding to the length of the wings of the first and second members.
- each conduit comprises, on the side of one face of the intermediate member, a stop intended to cooperate with the external surface of the core of the first member and on the side of the other face a partition intended to to be inserted between the wings of the second organ and to cooperate with the internal face of its soul.
- the intermediate element has a generally square shape, the part of the conduits intended to cooperate with the edge of the elbow of the connecting strip being aligned on a diagonal.

- the half-shell 11 is identical to the half-shell 12, but is presented opposite the intermediate element 10 turned over and offset by 90 ° so that the notches 77, 78, 79 and 80 of the wall 75 coincide with the notches 56, 57, 58 and 59 of the wall 39, while the notches 77 to 80 of the wall 73 cooperate with the reliefs 60 to 63 of the wall 37.
- the sheet 1 is presented so that the conductor 2 is inserted into the slots 22 and 22 of the element 15 housed in the duct 48, the conductor 3 being inserted into the slots 21 and 22 of the element 15 placed in the conduit 47 and the conductors 4 and 5 in the slots 21 and 22 of the elements 15 inserted in the conduits 46 and 45 respectively, the half-shell 12 then being put in place.
- the edges of the slots cut out the insulation, the strands of the conductors cooperating with said slots ensuring the electrical connection.
- the length of the wings 30 a and 30 b and the depth of the half-shell 12 are such that, when the half-shell is put in place, the ends of said wings bear against the bottom, so that the conductors cannot disengage inadvertently slots 21 and 22.
- the bypass ply 7 is placed on the intermediate element 10, the end of the latter abutting against the reliefs 60, 61, 62 and 63, while the conductors 8, 9, 13 and 14 are housed in the slots 17 and 18 of the members 31, the edges of the slots cutting the insulation so that the strands of said conductors bearing against the edges of said slots provide the electrical connection.
- the conductor 14 will cooperate with the member 31 placed in the housing 48 c so that the same section of conductors are electrically connected.
- the half-shell 11, once put in place, will lock the conductors in the slots 17, 18.
