Description

The invention relates to a housing wall connector for coaxial cables with a tubular outer conductor part penetrating a bore in the metallic housing wall, which is guided in the bore with play relative to the housing wall.

Such housing wall connectors for coaxial cables are used for the electrical connection of circuit arrangements located in the housing to other devices, the signals being routed outside the housing via a coaxial cable. The signal is routed within the housing via a coax cable. Good contact must be ensured between the housing wall and the outer conductor of the coaxial plug inserted into the housing wall with play.

The invention is based on the object of designing such a housing wall connector in such a way that simple installation is possible with good electrical contact.

The object is achieved in that an outer conductor tube which is inserted in the bore is fastened to the housing wall, that the outer conductor tube is divided at one end into spring tongues which are prestressed inwards, and that the tubular outer conductor part which can be inserted into the outer conductor tube with play relative to rigid sections of the outer conductor tube inward projections provided on the free ends of the spring tongues.

In a further embodiment of the invention, the bore has two sections with different diameters, an abutment surface being formed at the transition from the section with the smaller diameter to the section with the larger diameter, for the end of the outer conductor tube which has a thicker wall and faces away from the spring tongues.

To attach the outer conductor tube in the housing wall bore, in a possible embodiment of the housing wall connector, the portion of the bore with a larger diameter should have a thread in a partial region, a tubular screw should be inserted into this partial region of the bore and the end of the outer conductor tube, which is formed with a thick wall, should provide a contact surface form the tubular screw and are pressed by it against the contact surface of the housing wall.

The invention will now be explained in more detail using an exemplary embodiment with the aid of a figure. The figure shows a housing wall connector according to the invention in a partially sectioned illustration.

In a metallic housing wall 1, a bore 2 has two sections 2a, 2b with different diameters, a contact surface 6 being formed at the transition from the section with a smaller diameter 2a to the section with a larger diameter 2b. In the bore is an outer conductor tube 4, which has a rigid section 4a and a section with movable spring tongues 5. The rigid section has a thicker wall thickness at its end 4b, so that the outer conductor tube 4 bears with this end 4b against the contact surface 6 of the housing wall bore 2. The bore section with a larger diameter 2b has a thread in a partial area 2c, into which a tubular screw 7 inserted over the outer conductor tube 4 is screwed in so far that it contacts a contact surface 8 that the thicker section 4b of the outer conductor tube 4 faces the screw 7 forms, rests and presses the outer conductor tube 4 against the contact surface 6 of the housing wall bore 2. From the side of the housing wall 1 facing away from the screw 7, a coaxial connector with a section 3 is inserted into the bore such that it is carried in the outer conductor tube 4 by projections 5a provided on the free ends of the spring tongues 5.
