Description

The invention relates to a clothes hanger for pants and skirts, in which clips are attached to the two ends of a rod for holding the pants or skirts. There is a hanging hook in the middle of the bar. The rod has a flattened cross-section and each clamp has two clamp jaws, each of which contains openings for mounting the clamp jaws on the rod. The clamp jaws are kept closed by a spring.

In a generally known coat hanger of this type, the openings of the one clamp jaw are oval in accordance with the cross section of the rod, so that this clamp jaw cannot rotate on the rod. The other clamp jaw has circular openings so that it can be pivoted around the rod to open the clamp. The non-rotatable mounting of the one clamp jaw ensures that the clamp is always in the correct position on the rod in which it opens downwards and that the grip ends of the clamp jaws point upwards. Characterized in that the one clamp jaw of each clamp is rotatably arranged on the rod, a torque is exerted on the rod when the clamp is opened. Since the user generally holds the handle ends of the clips when handling the hanger, the bar and the hanging hook attached to it rotate. If the hanger is already attached to a clothes rail, this leads to a lateral movement of the hanger. When making the coat hanger, the clamp jaws must be stored separately and care must be taken that the clamp jaws, which are arranged in a rotationally fixed manner, point on the rod ends to the same side, so that the clamps do not exert opposite torques on the rod when opened.

The invention is therefore based on the object of improving a hanger of the type mentioned in such a way that no torque is exerted on the rod when the clamps are opened.

According to the invention this object is achieved in that the openings of the clamping jaws are concave at the top and bottom and laterally convex, the distance of the concave boundary lines corresponding to the larger cross-sectional dimension of the rod and the distance of the convex boundary lines corresponding to the smaller cross-sectional dimension of the rod and the openings of the two Clamp jaws of each clamp are the same.

The lateral, convex boundary lines prevent the clamp jaws from being rotated completely around the rod in the case of unskillful handling or with little effort. If the convex boundary lines were replaced by straight boundary lines, these boundary lines must have a significantly greater distance than the smaller cross-sectional dimension of the rod, so that there is the rotatability necessary to open the clamps. The openings are then almost circular and the clamps can be rotated completely around the rod with little effort. This widening of the openings in the clamp jaws is not possible with hangers according to the invention.

The special shape of the openings of the clamp jaws allows the clamp jaws to pivot on the rod within a certain angular range. The openings are aligned within the clamp jaws in such a way that the clamp jaws can be closed and opened due to the pivotability. The longitudinal direction of the openings is approximately parallel to the longitudinal extent of the clamping jaws.

The clamp jaws are expediently elongated metal strips into which grooves or ribs are embossed in the longitudinal direction for stiffening. Half-way there are right-angled anglings provided in which are the openings with which the clamp jaws are pushed onto the rod. The clamping ends of the clamp jaws, which clamp the garment between them, are expediently provided with non-slip plastic covers. The other handle ends, which are used for handling, are expediently recessed in a trough-shaped manner in order to prevent the user's fingers from slipping off when the clips are opened.

The shape and the orientation of the openings are expediently such that a tangent to one side, convex boundary is at a distance from the tangent parallel to it to the other, opposite, lateral boundary, which is slightly larger than the smaller cross-sectional dimension of the rod. This applies to all tangents that can be placed on the convex boundaries.

At the two ends of the rod 1 there are clamps 3 pointing downwards, to which, for example, trousers or a skirt can be clamped.

According to FIGS. 2 and 5, each clamp 3 consists of two identical clamp jaws 4. Each clamp jaw 4 is an elongated sheet metal strip, from the side lines of which angled portions 5 protrude in the middle. In the bends 5 there are openings 6 with which the clamp jaws 4 can be pushed onto the rod 1. In the assembled state, the two clamp jaws 4 lie opposite one another on the rod 1 and are offset laterally only by the material thickness of the bends 5. The clamp 3 is kept closed by a leg spring 7. The leg spring 7 is a coil of spring steel wire with just protruding ends of the spring steel wire. These ends lie on the inside of the grip ends 8 of the clamp jaws 4 and press them apart, so that the clamp ends 9 of the clamp jaws 4 are pressed together. The clamping ends 9 can be provided with a non-slip plastic cover 10.

Die Querschnittsabmessungen sind 4,5 x 3 mm.In order to prevent the clamps 3 from rotating freely on the rod 1, the rod 1 has a flattened cross-section on the one hand and the openings 6 on the other hand have such a shape that the clamp jaws 4 rotate on the rod 1 only in a limited angular range can. The cross section of the rod 1 is limited at the top and bottom by arcs and laterally by straight lines. This profile is expediently produced by rolling a round steel wire. The cross-sectional dimensions are 4.5 x 3 mm.

The punched openings 6 are closed at the top and bottom by circular, concave boundaries 11, which correspond to the rounded top and bottom of the rod 1 with the slight play required for mobility. The openings 6 have convex boundaries 12 on the side (FIG. 4). A parallel tangent to the convex boundary 12 on the other side can be placed for each tangent 13 to the convex boundary 12 on the one side (FIG. 3). The distance a of the tangents 13, 14 must in each case be slightly larger than that be smaller transverse dimension of the rod 1. For different pairs of mutually parallel tangents, the contact points with the convex boundaries 12 are always diametrically opposite. The pivot angle resulting from the shape of the openings 6 defines two end positions, one end position corresponding to the closed position of the clamp 3 and the other end position corresponding to the open position. Each bracket 3 is pivotable about 30 °, this angle depending on the dimensional relationships. The pivot angle corresponds to the angle β, at which the tangents 15, 16 run to one another, which can be placed at the end points of the convex boundary 12. The convex boundaries 12 and the concave boundaries 11 meet at these end points.

The clamp 3 is assembled in such a way that the coil spring 7 is inserted between the two clamp jaws 4 in such a way that the spring legs are supported against the handle ends 8. The clamp jaws 4 are then moved by hand or by machine so that the total of four openings 6 of the two clamp jaws 4 and the axis of the coiled part of the leg spring 7 are in alignment with one another, and through the aligned openings 6 and the leg spring 7 in between, the rod then becomes 1 pushed. At the outer ends, the rod 1 is caulked or provided with other securing elements with the same effect, so that the clamp 3 cannot be pushed off the rod 1.

Instead of a leg spring 7 with a coiled central part, a U-shaped leaf spring or a helical compression spring can also be inserted between the handle ends 8 of the clamping jaws 4. The jaws 4 can also be made of plastic, the openings 6 are then expediently formed in approaches that extend from the center of the jaw to one side, so that two jaws 4 complement each other with their approaches. The approaches can also be designed as known from GB-PS 651 186, each clamp jaw having asymmetrically arranged approaches or bends. For reasons of stability the rod 1 is generally oriented so that the larger transverse dimension points in the vertical direction. However, it is also possible to rotate the rod 1 by 90 ° so that the smaller transverse dimension runs in the vertical direction, in which case the openings 6 must also be rotated by 90 °.
