Definitions
- the invention relates to a dampening unit for offset printing machines, which contains a dampening solution spraying device which sprays the dampening solution onto a first roller with a dampening agent-friendly surface.
- a dampening system of this type is e.g. B. known from DE-PS 35 26 236.
- the dampening solution is sprayed onto a first dampening roller by means of a rotatable plate and from there it arrives at a combined ink-dampening roller via a subsequent rubber-coated second roller and a plastic-coated third roller.
- All dampening rollers, with the exception of the combined ink dampening roller, are in toothed connection with one another, with considerable slip being generated between the surfaces of the first chrome roller and the second rubber roller.
- the object according to DE-OS 35 26 236 has the disadvantage that additional rollers, which connect the dampening unit to the inking unit, are required.
- dampening systems with a combined ink dampening roller have the disadvantage that inks of inferior quality, such as those used in newspaper printing, cannot be used, since the dampening solution gets more into the inking unit via the combined ink dampening roller, which is particularly the case with printing inks inferior quality to loss of quality in Pressure leads.
- the gear wheels for driving the dampening rollers are structurally complex and cause additional costs. In addition, they represent a strong source of noise. A slip between a chrome-coated and a rubber-coated roller leads to the rapid destruction of the rubber roller in the event that the dampening unit should run dry.
- a dampening system with a pure dampening roller is known. This receives the dampening solution from an upstream chrome roller which is in slip contact with a dampening roller which has a molton coating and is moistened by a first roller onto which the dampening solution is sprayed.
- a disadvantage of the device according to DE-GM 78 14 099 is that the molton-coated roller provided for fountain solution transfer is very easily contaminated by transferred ink residues.
- the slippage provided between the chrome roller and the molton roller leads to the destruction of the molton coating when the dampening unit runs dry.
- the arrangement of the chrome roller in contact with the applicator roller means that the dampening solution can essentially only emulsify into the printing ink on the applicator roller.
- the invention has for its object to provide a spray dampening unit with a pure dampening roller, which can also be used as a rewetting unit and which should have at least three rollers connected in series with color-friendly surfaces.
- the dampening solution covers a sufficiently long path from the spray device to the plate cylinder in order to be able to emulsify well with the printing ink on the dampening rollers with a color-friendly surface.
- Several pinch points at the transfer points between two dampening solution rollers reinforce this positive emulsion effect.
- Additional drives for the dampening solution rollers and artificially generated slip can be dispensed with. This measure results in a longer service life of the dampening unit rollers and less noise generated by additional gear wheels. Different diameters of the dampening roller prevent duplication.
- Eccentrically adjustable axes and adjustable stops enable the setting of precise contact pressures between the individual dampening unit cylinders and the plate cylinder.
- FIG. 1 shows a schematic illustration of the side view of the brush dampening system according to the invention
- FIG. 2 shows a second exemplary embodiment
- FIG. 3 shows a section III-III in FIG. 2.
- a dampening unit 1 for an offset rotary printing press has a dampening solution spray device 2. This consists of a dampening solution box 3, a rotatably mounted dampening box roller 4 immersed in the dampening solution and a rotatably mounted brush roller 6 which is in brush contact with the dampening box roller 4. Both spray rollers 4, 6 are driven by a drive of the printing press.
- the dampening solution is sprayed in the form of fine droplets onto a dampening roller 7 with a dampening agent-friendly, preferably chrome-coated surface 8.
- the dampening roller 7 is rotatably mounted in side frames and is driven by the drive of the printing press at machine speed.
- the dampening roller 7 is in contact with a second dampening roller 9 by means of its surface 8 with a dampening agent transfer medium.
- the axis 12 is adjustably mounted in levers 14 by means of eccentric bushes 13.
- the levers 14 are each pivotably mounted about a pin 16 of the dampening roller 7 which is rotatably mounted in the side frames.
- the dampening roller 9 transfers the dampening solution to a third dampening roller 17, which has a color-friendly surface 18, in particular a polyamide-coated surface 18 (e.g. Rilsan, hardness approx. 90 ° Shore D). This is rotatably mounted on an axis 19. The axis 19 is slidably mounted in the ends of the levers 14.
- the dampening roller 17 transfers the dampening solution to a dampening solution application roller 23 with an ink-friendly surface 24 (e.g. rubber, hardness approx. 30-40 ° Shore A), from which the dampening solution reaches a plate cylinder 26.
- an ink-friendly surface 24 e.g. rubber, hardness approx. 30-40 ° Shore A
- the dampening roller 23 is rotatably mounted on an axis 27 which is firmly seated in an eccentric bushing 29 arranged in the levers 14.
- the third dampening roller 17 can be adjusted relative to the dampening roller 23.
- the third dampening roller 17 is adjusted relative to the second dampening roller 9 by shifting the axis 19 relative to the axis 12 of the dampening roller 9.
- the levers 14 each have a receptacle 28, in which the axis 19 is laterally suspended.
- mutually parallel threaded holes 37 are provided in the axis 19 perpendicular to the axis 19 on both sides of the dampening roller 17 .
- An adjusting sleeve 38 with an external thread is screwed into each of the threaded bores 37, each of which is supported on the base 39 of the receptacles 28.
- a counter screw 41 is passed through the inner part of the adjusting sleeves 38 and screwed into a threaded bore 42 in the lever 14. With the lock screw 41, the adjusting sleeve 38 can be fixed so that the axis 19 can be locked in the desired position.
- the second dampening roller 9 is adjusted relative to the first dampening roller 7 by means of the eccentric bushing 13.
- the levers 14 each have at their upper end a receptacle 31 for a piston rod 32 of a working cylinder 33 which is pivotally attached to the side frame.
- the piston rods 32 extend and set this dampening solution application roller 23 against the plate cylinder 26 under adjustable pressure.
- the setting is made via two adjustable stops 34, which are each fastened to the inside of the side frames and are each arranged to be brought into contact with a fixed stop 36 of the lever 14.
- the dampening solution in the form of small droplets is sprayed onto the dampening agent-friendly surface 8 of the dampening roller 7 by the dampening solution spray device 2.
- the dampening roller 7 is driven by the drive of the printing press in such a way that the peripheral speeds of the dampening roller 7 and plate cylinder 26 are the same.
- the second dampening roller 9 is driven by friction from the first dampening roller 7 and can be adjusted relative to the latter by means of the eccentric bushes 13.
- the dampening solution now passes from the ink-friendly surface 11 of the dampening roller 9 to the ink-friendly surface 18 of the dampening roller 17 and from there to the ink-friendly surface 24 of the dampening solution application roller 11. From the dampening solution application roller 23, the dampening solution reaches the plate cylinder 26, which drives the dampening solution application roller 23 by friction, which in turn drives the dampening roller 17 together with the dampening roller 9 by friction.
- the dampening rollers 7, 9 and the dampening solution application roller 23 are mounted in common levers 43.
- two levers 44 are provided, which are arranged eccentrically adjustable relative to the levers 43.
- the bearings of the dampening rollers 7, 9 are unchanged from the first embodiment.
- the axis 27 of the dampening solution application roller 23 is in each case mounted centrally in an adjusting sleeve 46.
- the adjusting sleeve 46 has on its end face a pin 47 arranged eccentrically to the axis 27.
- the lever 44 is pivotably mounted on the pin 47.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a dampening unit for offset printing machines, which contains a dampening solution spraying device which sprays the dampening solution onto a first roller with a dampening agent-friendly surface.
A dampening system of this type is e.g. B. known from DE-PS 35 26 236. In this dampening system, the dampening solution is sprayed onto a first dampening roller by means of a rotatable plate and from there it arrives at a combined ink-dampening roller via a subsequent rubber-coated second roller and a plastic-coated third roller. All dampening rollers, with the exception of the combined ink dampening roller, are in toothed connection with one another, with considerable slip being generated between the surfaces of the first chrome roller and the second rubber roller.
The object according to DE-OS 35 26 236 has the disadvantage that additional rollers, which connect the dampening unit to the inking unit, are required.
As is well known, dampening systems with a combined ink dampening roller have the disadvantage that inks of inferior quality, such as those used in newspaper printing, cannot be used, since the dampening solution gets more into the inking unit via the combined ink dampening roller, which is particularly the case with printing inks inferior quality to loss of quality in Pressure leads.
The gear wheels for driving the dampening rollers are structurally complex and cause additional costs. In addition, they represent a strong source of noise. A slip between a chrome-coated and a rubber-coated roller leads to the rapid destruction of the rubber roller in the event that the dampening unit should run dry.
From DE-GM 78 14 099 a dampening system with a pure dampening roller is known. This receives the dampening solution from an upstream chrome roller which is in slip contact with a dampening roller which has a molton coating and is moistened by a first roller onto which the dampening solution is sprayed.
A disadvantage of the device according to DE-GM 78 14 099 is that the molton-coated roller provided for fountain solution transfer is very easily contaminated by transferred ink residues. In addition, the slippage provided between the chrome roller and the molton roller leads to the destruction of the molton coating when the dampening unit runs dry. The arrangement of the chrome roller in contact with the applicator roller means that the dampening solution can essentially only emulsify into the printing ink on the applicator roller.
The invention has for its object to provide a spray dampening unit with a pure dampening roller, which can also be used as a rewetting unit and which should have at least three rollers connected in series with color-friendly surfaces.
Eine Verstellung der zweiten Feuchtwalze 9 gegenüber der ersten Feuchtwalze 7 erfolgt mittels der Exzenterbuchse 13.The advantages of the invention are, in particular, that the dampening solution covers a sufficiently long path from the spray device to the plate cylinder in order to be able to emulsify well with the printing ink on the dampening rollers with a color-friendly surface. Several pinch points at the transfer points between two dampening solution rollers reinforce this positive emulsion effect. Additional drives for the dampening solution rollers and artificially generated slip can be dispensed with. This measure results in a longer service life of the dampening unit rollers and less noise generated by additional gear wheels. Different diameters of the dampening roller prevent duplication. Eccentrically adjustable axes and adjustable stops enable the setting of precise contact pressures between the individual dampening unit cylinders and the plate cylinder.
Two embodiments of the invention are shown in the drawings and are described below. 1 shows a schematic illustration of the side view of the brush dampening system according to the invention, FIG. 2 shows a second exemplary embodiment, FIG. 3 shows a section III-III in FIG. 2.

The
The dampening solution in the form of small droplets is sprayed onto the dampening agent-
The dampening solution now passes from the ink-friendly surface 11 of the
As a result of the measure of providing the three
In a second exemplary embodiment, only the
