Description

Die Anmeldung betrifft ein Grablicht. Sie betrifft insbesondere eine neue Hülse bzw. Umhüllung für ein Grablicht. The registration concerns a grave light. It relates in particular to a new sleeve or casing for a grave light.

From DE-C-312931 a can light with a paraffin candle and a colored cup receiving it is known, a metal lid having a passage opening for the wick being arranged on the open side of the cup. The material for the can holding the fuel is paper or cardboard. Document DE-C-312931 dates from 1919. In the further development of can lights, the can material, which previously consisted of paper or cardboard, was replaced in the course of development by colored plastic material, in particular PVC.

The conventional grave lights therefore consist of a sleeve made of red colored plastic material, especially PVC. This sleeve or cup is filled with a wax, usually paraffin wax, with a wick. Depending on their size, they have a burning time of between several hours and several days.

Such grave lights, which can also be used as decoration lights for other occasions, are usually exposed to the great outdoors and must therefore be resistant to weather conditions. The conventional grave lights with a plastic cup as a covering are weatherproof.

A significant disadvantage of the conventional grave lights with the plastic coating is that they do not rot. When clearing the graves, possibly together with withered flowers or wreaths, the plastic wrappings cannot be composted. However, if these burned down grave lights are burned, then environmentally harmful toxic gases are created, when PVC is burned, especially toxic hydrogen chloride.

There is therefore a need to provide grave lights which, after they have completed their task and have burned down, can be easily disposed of, i.e. that they can rot or at least be burned without releasing toxic pollutants.

The object of the invention is therefore to provide a new grave light with an environmentally friendly, easily rotable or combustible covering.

This object is achieved by a grave light according to the invention.

The grave light according to the invention with a paraffin candle, which is inserted in a colored cup receiving it, a metal cover having at least one opening being arranged on the upper open side of the cup, is characterized in that
  • an essentially cylindrical shell of the cup consists of a multilayer laminate, which is constructed from the inside out as follows: white cardboard, colored layer, adhesive and polypropylene,
  • a floor connected to the jacket consists of a multilayer laminate, which is constructed from the inside out as follows: polyethylene, aluminum, adhesive, cardboard and polyethylene.

An essential feature of the present invention is the fact that the conventional plastic cup is replaced by an environmentally friendly rot and / or combustible material.

Insofar as the claimed subject-matter is referred to below as "grave light" in the description and in the patent claims, this is to be understood to mean a corresponding light with the structure mentioned, which is not necessarily linked to the actual function of a "grave light". Because it is obvious to any person skilled in the art that the object according to the invention can also be used on other occasions where such a candle can be placed, but in particular for Occasions where the candle is exposed to the free weather can be used. It is of course included in the scope of the present invention that such a candle is used in areas other than graves.

Grave lights are traditionally red. In the context of the present invention, however, it is provided that the color of the grave light, which is shaped by the envelope, can be varied and arbitrary. Instead of the conventional red color, other colors or color combinations can be present; in particular, the coat, as will be explained below, can also be modified by decorative printing with ornaments, figures or the like.

The essentially cylindrical shell 3 of the cup enveloping the paraffin candle 2 has a structure which is characteristic of the present invention. This jacket is made of a multilayer laminate, the structure of the laminate, from the inside out, is as follows:
Inside is a white cardboard 10. This white cardboard 10 is in direct contact with the burning candle 2 when using the grave light 1 and will consequently come together with the solid paraffin wax which is also liquefied by the heat of combustion when using the grave light. Of course, this cardboard 10 has a certain absorbency. It preferably consists of a white cardboard made of pure cellulose and this cardboard itself has a multi-layer structure, with in practice a structure consisting of five layers with a weight of approximately 260 g / m² and a further layer with a weight of approximately 20 g / m² has proven to be advantageous.

Die Druckdichte beträgt dabei vorzugsweise etwa 2 bis 3 g Druckfarbe/m².The advantage of using this cardboard layer 10 within the multi-layer laminate enveloping the cylindrical casing 3 is manifold: first of all the cardboard is of course easy to dispose of, i.e. that it can be burned or rot. It is also essential, however, that the cardboard and / or decorative printed images can be very easily and very well applied to this cardboard. The high affinity of the cardboard based on cellulose for many printing inks enables excellent printability and colorability. The printing can take place as a multicolor gravure printing, whereby up to eight different colors can be used in the printed image. The print density is preferably about 2 to 3 g of printing ink / m².

An adhesive 12 or glue is provided as a further component in the multilayer laminate of the cylindrical jacket 3. This adhesive 12 serves to adhere the outer polypropylene layer 13. The adhesive 12 can be of a conventional type, for example it can be a conventional two-component adhesive. The lamination of polypropylene on cardboard is in itself that Known expert, so that he can use the adhesive available here.

The outermost layer of the multilayer laminate forming the cylindrical jacket 3 consists of polypropylene 13. This polypropylene serves to make the cylindrical jacket 3 resistant to the effects of the weather, so it protects this cup. Since the polypropylene is transparent or translucent in a thin layer, the underlying color layer 11 is fully expressed. A polypropylene with a density of 0.9 and a Vicat softening point of approximately 139 ° C. has proven useful for the present invention. The polypropylene layer 13 is preferably laminated onto the laminate in an amount of 30 g / m 2.

The polypropylene in the outermost layer of the multi-layer laminate of the jacket 3 has another special significance. It also serves as a sealant or adhesive between the free, overlapping edges of the multilayer laminate that run axially to the cup to form the cylindrical jacket 3. It has the function of a hot-melt adhesive here. Not only is there a very good and permanent gluing of the overlapping edges under the influence of heat and the subsequent cooling, but this bond is also able to withstand the strong requirements to which such a grave light is exposed. Such a grave light is influenced to a large extent by the outside temperature and the weather; on the other hand, it heats up from the inside when the paraffin candle burns, so that very considerable temperature differences can act on the grave light as a whole, but in particular on the cylindrical jacket 3. Even with these high requirements, this remains Hot-melt sealed seam resistant. (There is no such problem with conventional grave lights using a plastic cup because there are no such seams.)

The cylindrical shell 3 of the cup with the structure described above is only slightly or not at all translucent before the paraffin candle is inserted and fired. However, when the grave light is burned off, the phenomenon arises that the softened or softening and more or less liquefied paraffin impregnates the cardboard layer 10 on the inside, as a result of which a particularly effective and decorative translucency occurs when the grave light is burned. This translucency can decoratively extend gradually from top to bottom, depending on the burning of the light and the proportion of the paraffin liquefied during the burning, whereby a further optically appealing effect is achieved.

The bottom 4 connected to the jacket 3 of the cup is also constructed from a multilayer laminate. In a preferred embodiment, this structure looks from the inside out as follows: polyethylene 14 with a weight of 22 g / m 2. This polyethylene 14 can be selected from a low-density, medium-density or high-density polyethylene, but a polyethylene with a relatively low density of approximately 0.918, which is obtained in a known manner by high-pressure polymerization and is particularly suitable for the production of films, is preferred.

The polyethylene layer 14 is followed by a thin aluminum layer 15, which is intended to prevent the bottom and thus the entire cup of the grave light from burning on when the candle 2 is almost completely burned down. A subsequent layer of cardboard 17, the weight of which is approximately 230 g / m², is laminated onto the aluminum layer 15 with an adhesive, preferably an aqueous glue. The aluminum layer 15 has a weight of about 21 g / m². The cardboard 17 is primarily used to stiffen the bottom 4. Finally, a layer of polyethylene 18 is laminated onto the cardboard 17, which is intended to protect the cardboard against the effects of weather, in particular moisture, from the underside of the cup and thus suction of water into the Cardboard 17 prevented.

The edge of the base has a downward-pointing cylindrical collar 7, which on the one hand serves to space the base 4 from a possibly moist or wet standing surface of the cup, and on the other hand serves as a flanging surface for the lower edge of the cylindrical jacket 3.

The double-sided outer polyethylene coating 14 and 18 of the bottom 4 additionally takes on a hot-melt function when the lower edge of the jacket 3 is sealed or flanged around the collar 7 of the bottom 4. In this way, leakage of liquid paraffin over the flanged seam, which is firmly connected by sealing, can be avoided.

A metal cover 5 having an opening 6 is arranged on the side of the cup which is open towards the top. This lid 5 is preferably formed from aluminum and has a conical collar with which it is inserted into the opening of the cup. Furthermore, the collar of the lid 5 has an edge 8 which rests on an edge of the cup opening. This edge 8 of the cover 5 prevents the cover 5 from being pushed too far into the cylindrical jacket 3. In a In an advantageous embodiment, the opening 6 in the cover 5 is circular and coaxial with the cover collar. Of course, instead of a lid opening 6, a plurality of circular or cross-shaped openings can also be provided, which are usually introduced in the lid 5 in an arrangement symmetrical to the vertical mug axis.

The lid 5 on the one hand has the task of stabilizing the essentially easily bendable jacket 3 on its upper side facing its opening and to give the entire grave light a higher degree of rigidity and, on the other hand, serves with its defined opening 6 for flame regulation or regulation the air that comes to the flame. In addition, the cover 5 also enhances the grave light from a decorative point of view and also partially prevents rain or moisture from penetrating into the interior of the cup from above. The edge 8 of the lid 5, which covers the free upper opening edge of the jacket, also largely prevents moisture or rain from penetrating into the upper rim of the cup and thus softening the upper rim of the cup, which is unsightly in appearance.

A grave light as described above takes into account the ever more important need for environmental protection and can also be produced in a simple and inexpensive manner. This new grave light has solved a long-standing task of replacing plastics with environmentally friendly materials.
