Definitions
- the present invention relates to a device for limiting the spread of a treatment liquid sprayed against a textile substance.
- a liquid sprayed against a point to be cleaned can basically be spread in three ways.
- liquid drops that are sprayed against the textile bounce back from it and spray away on all sides, so that a considerably larger area than is actually intended is wetted. Obviously the percentage depends Proportion of the liquid drops thrown back depends on how dense the fabric is or how fine the mesh of the textile material.
- Another part of the treatment liquid does not penetrate the tissue in order to be removed on its lower or rear side, for example by means of suction. This part flows on the surface of the textile from the wetted point to the outside.
- a further part of the sprayed-on liquid penetrates the tissue, but is not able to pass completely through the tissue in order to be drawn off on the rear or lower side thereof by a suction source. This liquid part spreads out laterally in the tissue itself, for example by capillary action or by a suction of the same by the individual fibers.
- the material webs to be tested and, if necessary, cleaned run or areas, not horizontal but inclined to almost vertical, so that the spread of the applied liquid, the wet place, is strongly influenced by gravity and thus a considerable wetting of the material area can take place downwards.
- the invention seeks to remedy this.
- the invention as characterized in the claims, achieves the object of providing a device for limiting the spread of a treatment liquid sprayed against a textile material, in which a space is formed by two concentric wall members, in which passages lead from the inner wall member and which is to be connected to a suction source.
- the embodiment of the device for limiting the spreading of the treatment liquid shown in FIG. 1 basically has the shape of an annular body.
- this ring has body has a circular cross-sectional shape.
- the ring body can have a shape that is different from the circular shape, and designs can be provided in which the ring body is cut open at one or more points, for example along a surface line, so that it is in the form of a cut ring.
- the embodiment of the ring body shown here has an outer wall member 1 and an inner wall member 2 running coaxially therewith. These wall members 1, 2 are connected to one another along their edges. A cavity 4 is thus formed between them. At the lower end of the ring body, in which the two wall members 1, 2 are connected to one another, there is a contact surface 3.
- the ring body with its support surface 3 is placed on the area of the textile material to be treated.
- a rib member 6 projects from the inner wall member 2 and points in the direction of the space 5 enclosed by the ring body. It can be seen that the lower side surface of the rib member 6 is flush with the bearing surface 3, that is to say is basically part of the same.
- the inner wall member 2 is penetrated by a number of holes 7 which extend in the inner circumferential direction thereof and thus connect the enclosed space 5 to the cavity 4.
- Another group of through holes 8 is arranged directly above the rib member 6.
- further ribs pointing into space 5 may also be present, e.g. a rib can also be arranged directly under the lower row of holes 7.
- the cavity 4 is connected to a suction source 10 via a connection 9, which is formed in the outer wall member 1.
- the dispensing head 18 is movably suspended above the ring body for dispensing the respective treatment liquid (and also drying air). To treat the dirt spot, the dispensing head 18 is pushed into the space 5 enclosed by the ring body and the respective treatment liquid, for example in the form of a sharp, pulsating jet, can be sprayed against and through said dirt spot.
- a spreading of the liquid remaining on the surface of the fabric is now also no longer possible.
- the spreading takes place up to the inner edge of the rib member 6, which has a bevel 21 to form a relative has a strong edge. Due to the air draft present here, the liquid is drawn up along the bevel 21 and drawn off through the holes 8. The same also applies to the liquid part soaking the substance. Here, too, removal takes place by suction through the lower holes 8.
- FIG. 2 This further embodiment is intended in particular for use with relatively narrow-meshed textile fabrics, in which the risk of a standing layer of liquid forming on the surface is higher.
- This embodiment differs from the one described above in that further passages 11 to the cavity 4 are present directly at the contact surface 3. Such a portion of the liquid which flows outwards under the rib member 6 along the support surface 3 can be drawn off into the cavity 4 through these additional passages 11.
- an inner circumferential rib 12 protruding into the cavity 4 protrudes from the outer wall member 1 and has openings 11 mentioned above.
- This rib 12 serves as a guide plate in order to favor the flow pattern from the passages 11 into the connection 9.
- the embodiment according to FIG. 2 can therefore be used in particular when there are substances in which the risk of a standing liquid pool forming on the substance is particularly great.
- a compressed air supply body 13 is arranged in the ring body and can again be a closed or open ring. Compressed air flows from the compressed air source 14, which conveys hot or cold compressed air under high pressure, through the compressed air outlet openings 16 against the textile material Existing liquid can be forced through the mesh and driven away from the fabric. It should be remembered here that the fabric rests on a perforated support 19 which is connected below to a suction source 10 (see FIG. 4).
- 16 return flow passages 17 are arranged on both sides of the outlet openings, which again lead to the connection 9 to the suction source 10 such that the laterally evading compressed air is located directly next to the Outlet openings 16 is sucked off, thereby preventing the liquid from spreading in the material.
- FIG. 4 shows, in a highly simplified manner, an embodiment of the device according to the invention, together with a device for removing dirt from a textile material.
- a device for removing dirt from a textile material is e.g. available on the market under the name "Stain cleaning system 100 from Krebs Switzerland” and thus generally known. Therefore, FIG. 4 is a purely schematic illustration of such a device, only those parts being drawn which are necessary for understanding the present invention.
- the perforated support 19, on which the textile material 20 to be cleaned is placed, is connected to a suction source 10.
- the reference number 22 denotes the work table.
- Three fluids are supplied to the working head 18.
- One fluid is a pressure fluid containing a low-foaming detergent, which is supplied by a corresponding unit (storage tank, pump, possible heater) 23.
- Another liquid is water from the source 24, which, for example, like also the aforementioned fluid, is pulsed at high pressure.
- the reference number 25 denotes the compressed air supply.
- These three fluids 23, 24, 25 flow through lines into the dispensing head 18, which is equipped with push buttons for switching the respective fluid flow on and off.
- the fluid jets emerging from the dispensing head 18 are generally designated by the reference number 27.
- a limiting device designed according to the present invention is now mounted in the table 22 via a swivel arm 28. It can be seen that the connection 9, through which the suction is carried out from the space 5, is fed to the suction source 10, for example an air pump, which is the same which is responsible for the suction under the perforated support 19. If the embodiment according to FIG. 3 is used, which additionally requires a compressed air supply, there is a compressed air supply line 29 which leads to a compressed air source 30. This is shown in Figure 4 as a separate unit; however, it is obvious that, as shown by the dashed line 31, the compressed air source 30 can be the same as the compressed air source 25, and in the case of different pressures pressure control valves can be installed in the respective compressed air supply lines.
- the textile material 20 To treat the textile material 20, it is placed over the perforated support 19 in a known manner and the ring body is pivoted thereon. Then the suction source 10 can be put into operation, so that the vacuum is created under the perforated support 19. Finally, the contaminated area is treated with the different fluids, according to the work of the known cleaning device.
- the dispensing head 18 which is connected to flexible supply lines, is pulled downward, so that its foremost end section is arranged in the space 5 at a small distance from the textile material 20, whereby the annular body now surrounding the dispensing head 18 is the undesirable one Spread of the respective sprayed liquids effectively prevented.
- the perforated support 19 can be an elongated structure, the limiting device not being mounted in a swivel arm, but in any other way that would cause it to be displaced over the whole Width of the textile web to be treated allowed.

Abstract
An annular body is formed by an outer (1) and an inner wall member (2). A cavity (4) is present between these two walls (1; 2). The cavity (4) is connected to a suction source (10) via a connection (9) in the outer wall (1). The inner wall (2) has holes (7; 8) which connect the space (5) enclosed by it to the cavity (4) and thus the connection (9) to the suction source (10). The ring body is equipped below with a rib (6). If the device is placed on a point of a substance against which cleaning fluids are sprayed, the inner wall (2) limits the spread of the liquid rebounding from the substance. The liquid flowing down on the inner wall (2) is transported away primarily through the holes (7). Liquid that spreads on the fabric is also transported away through holes (8) provided in the rib (6). This effectively limits the spread of treatment liquids sprayed against the textile substance, so that no further precautions and longer periods of time have to be taken into account in order to achieve drying of the treated area and the areas surrounding it. The device also completely and effectively removes that amount of liquid that is not pressed through the fabric in a cleaning manner.
Description
The present invention relates to a device for limiting the spread of a treatment liquid sprayed against a textile substance.
To remove dirt stains from textile materials or textile fabrics, it is known to spray stain solvents, pressure fluids containing a low-foaming detergent and also water against the area to be cleaned. It is known, e.g. to direct the pressure fluid containing a low-foaming detergent and also the water in the form of a sharp, pulsating jet against the area to be cleaned.
Because, on the one hand, it can only be recognized whether the dirt has actually been removed from the area in question when it has dried, and because so-called dirt rings can also form, especially when improperly cleaned, the aim is to measure the size of the area wetted for cleaning to keep it as small as possible. A liquid sprayed against a point to be cleaned can basically be spread in three ways.
Some of the liquid drops that are sprayed against the textile bounce back from it and spray away on all sides, so that a considerably larger area than is actually intended is wetted. Obviously the percentage depends Proportion of the liquid drops thrown back depends on how dense the fabric is or how fine the mesh of the textile material. Another part of the treatment liquid does not penetrate the tissue in order to be removed on its lower or rear side, for example by means of suction. This part flows on the surface of the textile from the wetted point to the outside. A further part of the sprayed-on liquid penetrates the tissue, but is not able to pass completely through the tissue in order to be drawn off on the rear or lower side thereof by a suction source. This liquid part spreads out laterally in the tissue itself, for example by capillary action or by a suction of the same by the individual fibers.
This undesired spreading of the cleaning liquid depends, as mentioned at the beginning, on the fabric (or knitted fabric) itself, which textile materials are not all permeable to the same extent. In the case of relatively coarse-meshed textile materials, up to 95% of the sprayed-on liquid can pass through the mesh. With e.g. the denser woven fabrics or those that have been treated with appropriate impregnation agents, the penetration is much more limited. It is known that in individual cases only 10 to 20% of the liquid applied completely penetrates the textile material and the greater part, i.e. can be atomized up to 90% above the substance in the air or remain as a pool of liquid on the surface of the substance. The smaller the volume fraction of the quantity of liquid actually passing through the substance to be cleaned, the greater the total quantity of liquid applied, and this will result in the undesired spreading of the treatment liquid on and in the substance.
In textile plants in particular, the material webs to be tested and, if necessary, cleaned run or areas, not horizontal but inclined to almost vertical, so that the spread of the applied liquid, the wet place, is strongly influenced by gravity and thus a considerable wetting of the material area can take place downwards.
Hier will die Erfindung Abhilfe schaffen. The invention seeks to remedy this. The invention, as characterized in the claims, achieves the object of providing a device for limiting the spread of a treatment liquid sprayed against a textile material, in which a space is formed by two concentric wall members, in which passages lead from the inner wall member and which is to be connected to a suction source.
The advantages achieved by the invention are essentially to be seen in the fact that drops sprayed on and rebounding on the textile material are effectively absorbed and removed on the inner wall of the device, that the soaked area cannot widen and the formation of pools of liquid on the material suction is prevented.

The embodiment of the device for limiting the spreading of the treatment liquid shown in FIG. 1 basically has the shape of an annular body. According to the example, this ring has body has a circular cross-sectional shape. Obviously, the ring body can have a shape that is different from the circular shape, and designs can be provided in which the ring body is cut open at one or more points, for example along a surface line, so that it is in the form of a cut ring.
The embodiment of the ring body shown here has an
The
The
The handling and operation of this embodiment of the device according to the invention is as follows, reference also being made to the diagram in FIG.
The ring body with its
The liquid droplets now rebounding from the fabric collide against the
A spreading of the liquid remaining on the surface of the fabric is now also no longer possible. The spreading takes place up to the inner edge of the
Reference is now made to FIG. 2. This further embodiment is intended in particular for use with relatively narrow-meshed textile fabrics, in which the risk of a standing layer of liquid forming on the surface is higher. This embodiment differs from the one described above in that
The embodiment according to FIG. 3 is particularly advantageous if the textile material is such that there is a risk that the liquid in the material itself spreads out, for example due to capillary action, absorbency of the fibers, etc. A compressed
Reference is now made to FIG. 4. FIG. 4 shows, in a highly simplified manner, an embodiment of the device according to the invention, together with a device for removing dirt from a textile material. Such a device is e.g. available on the market under the name "Stain cleaning system 100 from Krebs Switzerland" and thus generally known. Therefore, FIG. 4 is a purely schematic illustration of such a device, only those parts being drawn which are necessary for understanding the present invention.
The
To treat the
For this purpose, the dispensing
In conclusion, it should be noted that the embodiments shown, including FIG. 4, are purely exemplary. In a textile plant, in which relatively wide textile webs have to be checked and cleaned if necessary, the
