Description

The invention relates to the use of a solid drilling tool, which is arranged on a drill pipe and consists of an outer sleeve and a center bit which is detachably fastened therein and which can be removed after loosening through the drill pipe.

In the context of the measures of the type mentioned which are known in practice (cf. brochure "94 mm WIRELINE CORE BARREL System" from Norton Christensen, Inc., Salt Lake City, Utah / USA - without a publication date), the solid drilling tool is made up of two Parts, namely the outer sleeve and the center bit, have nothing to do with the course of the borehole. Rather, it serves to enable core drilling without the complete pulling of the drill rod that would otherwise be required to replace the solid drilling tool with a core tube; after removing the center chisel, the core tube can be inserted into the bore through the outer sleeve and fixed in the outer sleeve. With regard to the drilling process, the procedure is the same as for one-piece solid drilling tools: inclination and direction of the drilling are measured at predetermined intervals at a considerable distance from or behind the solid drilling tool in the area of non-magnetic drill collars that do not distort the measurement result. The actual course of the borehole at a considerable distance from the bottom of the borehole is only a rough reference for the actual course of the borehole in the area of the borehole bottom and does not provide any information about the tendency of the borehole course in the area of the borehole bottom, so that a reliable statement about the specific measures for further drilling is very difficult, at least requires a lot of experience. All this is the reason why, especially in the case of boreholes deflected from the vertical, major deviations from the actual and target course of the borehole are still unavoidable and the production of such boreholes is very lengthy and cost-intensive.

The invention is based on the object of specifying how, within the framework of the measures mentioned at the outset, drilling with a predefined drilling profile is much faster and easier than before.

To this end, the present invention teaches the use mentioned at the outset, i. H. the use of a solid drilling tool arranged on a drill pipe made of an outer sleeve and detachably fastened therein, after loosening through the drill pipe removable center bit for the purpose of producing holes predefined in the course of the borehole, with the proviso that the actual course of time from time after removal of the center bit Bore is measured at the bottom of the borehole and then drilling continues with a center chisel under drilling conditions acting in the direction of the desired course of the borehole.

The invention is based on the finding that the use of the known two-part solid drilling tool in the course of the production of bores is more surprising As a much closer approximation of the actual course of the hole to its target course allows because the actual course can be measured after removing the center bit in the area of the drill base and thus clear statements can be made about the measures to be taken for further drilling. As practice has shown, bores can now be produced much more quickly and cost-effectively, which also means that no anti-magnetic drill collars are required. It is also advantageous that core drilling, in particular rope core drilling, is possible through the outer sleeve without pulling the solid drill pipe, which also contributes to accelerating exploration.

There are several possibilities for the further configuration within the scope of the invention. Thus, the outer sleeve of the full tool is preferably designed as a stabilizer, that is to say provided on its outside with inclined webs. The center chisel can be removed with the aid of the rinsing liquid; However, it is more advantageous if the center chisel can be pulled out of the outer sleeve and through the drill pipe with a rope. From a device and operating point of view, it is particularly simple if the actual course of the bore is measured with the outer sleeve withdrawn by a certain amount together with the full drilling tool using a measuring arrangement that can be anchored in this, with an inclination and direction sensor located in the area of the drilling base. The drilling conditions for further drilling acting in the direction of the desired course of the drilling are known per se; they can by maintaining or changing the speed of the drill string, the pressure of the solid drilling tool and / or the flushing quantity, but in particular can also be achieved in that a corresponding center bit is selected from a set of center bits with different cutting and / or flushing action.

The invention is explained below with reference to a drawing. They show a schematic representation
  • 1 shows a drill pipe and solid drilling tool in a borehole,
  • FIG. 2 shows a longitudinal section through the solid drilling tool according to FIG. 1.

The solid drilling tool 1 shown is fastened to a drill pipe 2 which can be driven above ground and consists of an outer sleeve 3 and a center bit 4 which is detachably fastened therein and which can be removed after loosening through the drill pipe 2. The fastening of the center bit 4 in the outer sleeve 3 does not require in particular Description, since corresponding fastening measures 5 are sufficiently known in the prior art. The outer sleeve 3 is in any case designed as a stabilizer, for which purpose webs 6 which run obliquely on the outside are provided. The center chisel 4 can be pulled out with a rope 7 from the outer sleeve 3 and through the drill pipe to the surface, which is only indicated in FIG. 1.

To produce a predetermined bore in the course of the borehole, the drilling is interrupted from time to time, the solid drilling tool 1 with the drill rod 2 is withdrawn by a certain amount, the center bit 4 is pulled out and a measuring arrangement, not shown in the figures, is inserted into the drill rod 2, which can be found in FIG of the outer sleeve 3 and then has an inclination and direction sensor projecting toward the drilling base 8. With this measuring arrangement, the actual course of the bore in the area of the borehole bottom 8 is measured. Depending on the deviation from the target course, drilling continues in the direction of the target course. They can be the same or different drilling conditions. The latter can e.g. B. can be achieved by using a different center chisel 4 from a set of different center chisels with different cutting and / or rinsing effects.
