Claims (7)

  1. A modular auxiliary selector switch with an insulating case (12) designed to be adjoined and coupled to a circuit breaker unit, said selector switch (10, 100, 110, 200) comprising :
    - an operating mechanism (18, 118) with handle (19) and energy storage spring (58),
    - a first and/or second switch (14, 16) coopersting with said mechanism to reflect the open or closed position of the main contacts of the circuit breaker unit, and/or to indicate opening on a fault by automatic tripping of the circuit breaker unit, each switch (14, 16) being of the changeover type comprising a pair of stationary contacts (20, 22; 34, 36) and a movable contact (24, 32) cooperating alternately with one of said stationary contacts,
    - a first and/or second set of terminals (26, 28, 30; 38, 40, 42) for connection to at least one external electrical circuit for control and signalling,
    - and a manual test device (70, 170) with a test button (76, 176) able to be actuated to check operation of the components connected in said external circuit, without changing the status of the circuit breaker unit, characterized in that the test device (70, 170) comprises an actuating lever (72, 62) acting directly on at least one of the movable contacts (24, 32) to bring about forced switching of the corresponding switch (14, 16), independently from the operating mechanism (18, 118) which remains immobile, and that said lever (72, 62) is pivotally mounted on a spindle (74, 46) between an active test position and an inactive position, the test button (76, 176) being arranged at one of the ends of said lever (72, 62), whereas the other end (112) drives the movable contact (24, 32) towards the opposite stationary contact when the test operation is performed.
  2. The auxiliary selector switch according to claim 1, characterized in that the lever (72, 62) is urged by a return spring (78, 178) to the inactive position after the test button (76, 176) has been released.
  3. The auxiliary selector switch according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the test button (76) of the operating lever (72) is located at a predetermined place of the case (12), rendered inaccessible after a front plate (80) has been fitted.
  4. The auxiliary selector switch according to claim 2 or 3, characterized in that the pivoting spindle (74) of the operating lever (72) is located near an internal ramp (68) of the handle (19).
  5. The auxiliary selector switch according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the test button (176) of the support lever (62) associated with the test device (170) is accessible via the front panel of the case (12).
  6. The auxiliary selector switch according to claim 5, characterized in that the support lever (62) comprises a lug (112) located opposite the test button (176) to drive the movable contact (24) towards the stationary contact (20) of the first switch (14).
  7. The auxiliary selector switch according to claim 5, characterized in that the support lever (62) acts simultaneously on the two movable contacts (24, 32) of the first and second switches (14, 16) to perform a double closing test on two independent auxiliary circuits, whereas the circuit breaker unit remains open.
