Abstract

The easy-to-open package for pourable products consists of a bottom part (95) with an edge flange and of a lid part (96) which can be flat or profiled and is fixedly connected via said edge flange by heat- sealing or bonding. At a selected point in the lid part (96), an opening region (99) is bounded by a weakening line (101) with a preferably angular course, to which opening region a separately produced gripping tab (100) is attached by bonding, sealing or the like. <IMAGE>

Description

  • The invention relates to an easy-to-open packaging made of metal, plastic or plastic / metal foil for pourable fillings with the features of the preamble of claim 1.
  • Packaging of this type is also known in various embodiments for pourable filling goods, such as still drinks or the like. The lower part is designed in a cup or cup shape from a film and has an edge flange which is connected to the cover part in a sealing manner, in particular by adhesive bonding, welding or cold or heat sealing. The cover part also consists of a foil, such as plastic, metal or aluminum foil or plastic / metal foil or the like. The sealing connection is generally made in such a way that it can be detached with the aid of a grip tab formed on the cover part, so that the film forming the cover part can be peeled off the edge flange to expose the cross section of the opening of the lower part.
  • Such packaging has the disadvantage that the connection cannot be designed in an optimal way to meet the requirements for strength and sealing effect, since otherwise the resistance to tearing or peeling of the connection becomes too great. In practice, however, this peeling resistance is still so great that so large that difficulties often arise when opening the package. This can result in children or women not being able to open the packaging properly at all. But it can also happen that, especially at the beginning or end of the peeling process, the cover film tears with a jerky movement, as a result of which a part of the pourable or pourable filling material is sprayed or spilled. It is an object of the invention to develop an easy-to-open package with the features of the preamble of claim 1 so that the disadvantages mentioned do not occur and the package for opening can be easily and safely handled by children and women.
  • This object is achieved by the teaching of claim 1.
  • With e.g. the weakening line can be formed from metal, such as aluminum and plastic, by means of a notch on the top of the metal foil. The preferably angular weakening line can easily be attached to the desired location of the flat or profiled cover part. When the line of weakness breaks in, there is an opening in the lid, which makes it easier to pour out the filling material. This can be further favored by a special arrangement of the line of weakness in relation to the container outline.
  • The grip tab can be easily manufactured separately and attached by welding, gluing or sealing in the area bounded by the weakening line. The opening is extremely easy, since only the pre-weakened line, which is very limited in terms of area, has to be brought in. This can be further favored by the design of the grip tab itself and the location of its attachment point.
  • The development according to claim 4 ensures that the opening process actually remains limited to the area determined by the line of weakness and that the cover does not tear further than intended. Despite the self-contained angular weakening line, the tear-off part that is limited thereby and the grip tab can remain captively connected to the cover if the development according to claim 5 is followed.
  • The invention is explained in more detail below with the aid of schematic drawings using several exemplary embodiments.

  • The packaging shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 consists of a cup-shaped lower part 95 and a flat cover part 96. The cover part can also be profiled to the desired extent. The cup 95 is shown with a rectangular or square outline. It can of course also have a circular outline, although the rectangular shape has proven to be advantageous for storage and transport reasons.
  • The lower part 95 can be made from a plastic film. It has a bent edge flange 97, along which the cover part 96 is hermetically sealed and firmly connected to the lower part.
  • In a side wall, the lower part 95 has a grommet-shaped or nose-shaped bulge 98 near the opening edge, which is also followed by the edge flange and the sealing line. In the angularly projecting section of the cover 96 covering the spout area, an angular weakening line 101 is provided, which is arranged near the region of the edge flange following the spout. At the area delimited by the line of weakness 101, a section of a handle tab 99, which is otherwise made from a separate part, is permanently attached by gluing or sealing 100. The grip flap section 99 can be easily grasped and raised and with its help the area delimited by the angular weakening line 101 can be exposed by exposing a pouring opening in the area of the spout 98. The tear-open area and the grip tab 99 remain connected to the cover part 96 via the fold line which connects the free ends of the angular weakening line to one another.
  • The arrangement can also be used to the same extent in the case of a container the lower part of which has no spout-shaped bulge 98. In In this case, it is expedient to arrange the adapted weakening line 101a in the region of a corner of the cover part 96 in the case of a rectangular outline and to assign the grip tab 99a to this weakening line in the manner described above.
  • Depending on the contents and / or the type and nature of the cover film, the weakening line 101 according to FIG. 3 can have legs of different lengths and angles between them of different sizes. The opening angle between the legs is expediently between 50 ° and 105 °.
  • In the embodiment according to FIGS. 4 and 5, a self-contained tear-open area is delimited in the cover film 102 by a triangular weakening line 104. This could be assigned to a bulge 98 or provided in a corner of the cover part 102. In the example shown, the tear-open area is offset on one side in the vicinity of a side edge of the cover part. One side of the tear-open area can also be formed into a bending line. An angled grip tab 103 is attached to the tear-open area on the top of the lid 102 by gluing or sealing. The grip tab 103 can itself consist of heat-sealable material or, in the case of multilayer film, can have such a heat-sealable layer. The same applies to the cover part 102, which in the example shown consists of an aluminum foil 105 and a heat seal layer 106, with the aid of which the cover can be permanently attached to the edge flange of the lower part, not shown, by heat sealing.
  • The triangular tear-open area is indicated in the sectional view according to FIG. 5 by the score lines 104. It can be seen that the connection between the grip tab and the cover part 102 comprises two regions 107 and 108 which can also merge. The area 108 connects the tear-open tab to the tear-open area 104 delimited by the triangular weakening line 104a. The connection area 107 lies outside the tear-open area 104 and connects the tear-open area on the one hand and the grip tab on the other hand via the section 103b of the handle tab to the cover part 102.
  • The region 107 not only creates the permanent connection between the two parts, but at the same time maintains a barrier that precludes any further tearing over the notch line section 104a lying next.

Claims (6)

1. Easy-to-open packaging made of metal, plastic or plastic / metal foil, for pourable and / or pourable contents, consisting of a bowl-shaped or cup-shaped lower part with an edge flange for support and sealing connection with a flat or profiled lid part made of a metal -, plastic or plastic / metal foil, characterized in that the cover part (96) within the sealing line (97) has a weakening line (101) of limited extent and a grip tab (99) which is connected to the weakening line (101) bounded area of the lid is firmly adhered by gluing, welding or sealing.
2. Packaging according to claim 1, characterized in that the line of weakness (101a) is angular and is arranged in the region of the corner of a cover part (96) of polygonal outline.
3. Packaging according to claim 1, characterized in that the weakening line (101) is arranged in an outwardly projecting area of the sealing line (97) and is adapted in its course to this, the sealing line of a sleeve-shaped bulge (98) of a wall of the lower part (95) follows.
4. Packaging according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the line of weakness is supplemented to a self-contained line of weakness (104), in particular of triangular outline.
5.Packaging according to claim 4, characterized in that the welding, adhesive or sealing area (1o7.1o8) between the grip tab (103) and the area of the cover part (102) bounded by the line of weakness (104a) on one side via the outline of the Line of weakness extends.
