Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to single-pole connectors for connecting a branch to a main power supply cable.
We know that in order to simplify the connection operations, branch connectors have been proposed which do not require the prior stripping of the two cables. To this end, the device is provided with two sets of blades which are capable, under the tightening effect of two operating screws, of perforating the insulation to come into contact with the metallic core of the corresponding cable. However, it has been proposed to go even further in the field of simplification of the installation, by replacing the two maneuvering screws with a single movable head whose face turned towards the blades is hollowed out by two depressions to rest on the two cables envisaged, said movable head being controlled by a single clamping screw.
However, experience has shown that the simplification envisaged was not real, in the sense that the engagement of the two cables in the connector, then the operation of the tightening screw, constituted an operation which remained delicate even for an operator having with both hands, and which was completely impossible with one hand.
It is to this drawback that the present invention mainly intends to remedy, which relates to the single-pole connector defined in
It is therefore understandable that mounting the connector on the main cable and on the branch cable no longer poses any problem and is capable of being carried out without difficulty even for an assembler having practically only one hand, such as the case occurs in works on overhead lines.
- Fig. 1 is an axial section of a connector according to the invention, shown prior to the operation of the clamping screw.
- Fig. 2 shows in perspective, in a separate state, the various component parts of the connector according to FIG. 1.
- Fig. 3, 4 and 5 illustrate the installation of this connector.
- Fig. 6 is a vertical section showing the perforation of the insulator once the clamping screw has been completely maneuvered.
The connector shown in fig. 1 comprises an
On observera (voir fig. With the assembly 1-2-3-4-5 thus formed is associated a movable head or
The
3, 4 et 5.To explain the method of mounting such a connector, reference is made to FIGS. 3, 4 and 5.
In fig. 3, the lower end of the
L'intervention ne soulève donc aucune difficulté, étant observé que la fixation de ce câble a est également susceptible d'être effectuée préalablement au branchement du câble principal A.The bypass cable a can be secured to the device in the same way, that is to say (see fig. 4) by exerting pressure (arrow F2) on the
6).In any event, the device is finally presented in the manner illustrated in FIG. 5; the
2 et 6) réuni par un bras souple 15 à un bouton latéral 16 du corps 1, ledit capuchon étant jusqu'alors retenu en attente contre le capot 8 à l'aide d'une patte de fixation 82.The installation of the connector is completed by subjecting the end of the branch cable has a blind end cap 14 (see fig. 2 and 6) joined by a
The tightness of the connection is complete. The connection operations are simplified as much as possible and can ultimately be carried out with one hand; the connection is likely to occur without danger while the main cable A is energized.
