Abstract

Known screen printing machines, which have a continuous support for the squeegee, have the disadvantage that the printing is impaired when the support bends. This also applies to constructions with a squeegee support which is independent of the support and the weight of which, in the case of an asymmetrical squeegee arrangement, results in an uneven loading of the squeegee. According to the invention, the support is therefore disposed rigidly at the guide rails, and pneumatic double-action cylinders are arranged directly at the support, the squeegee being fastened at the cylinders so that its angle can be adjusted. A bending off the support does not influence the printing quality, even if the squeegee is not arranged in the center of the support.

Description

The invention relates to a screen printing machine with a printing table and with a squeegee that can be moved over it, which is held adjustable with a squeegee holder on a carrier running in guide rails via guide devices both at a distance and at an angle to the printing table and can be pressed against the printing table via printing cylinders.

From DE-B 1 209 576 a screen printing machine is known in which the printing table can be pivoted by means of a lifting and lowering device in order to enable the screen printing stencil to be released more easily from the printed matter after the squeegee has passed over the corresponding point of the printed matter. For this purpose, several hydraulic cylinders are provided, which on the one hand allow the printing table to be pivoted and on the other hand allow the pivot axis to be shifted in height, so that the entire printing table can also be lowered and raised.

Screen printing machines are known (prospectus type 3000 from Thieme Maschinenfabrik, printed notice 3/86), in which the squeegee with its squeegee holder is firmly arranged on the reciprocating carrier via claw-like clamping pieces. In these designs, the doctor blade pressure is carried out by adjusting the height of the carrier, which is done by the position of the carrier is set by hand using lateral threaded spindles with a fine scale. The lifting movement of the squeegee during the return movement of the carrier takes place mechanically via corresponding eccentrics. With these designs, the print quality depends on the exact setting of the carrier with the squeegee. With large carrier lengths and with high doctor blade pressures, the bending that occurs in the carrier can lead to printing errors.

Screen printing machines have therefore also become known (brochure Thieme Maschinenfabrik Typ 2000 E), in which, in order to achieve a uniform contact pressure on the squeegee, the support is provided with an additional squeegee support which is movably supported relative to it, which is provided by pneumatic cylinders during of the squeegee process is pressed against the printing table. The squeegee is lifted off during the return movement, as in the other known designs, by mechanical lifting of the entire carrier. The angle of the squeegee to the printing table is also adjusted by pivoting the entire support. Although in such designs a deflection of the support at high doctor blade pressures cannot directly lead to a deformation on the doctor, the use of such designs is only possible without impairing the pressure if the doctor is held symmetrically to the center of the carrier. When producing prints that only take up a part of the width of the printing table, for example when making a side print on an otherwise already finished poster, the squeegee, which in this case is much shorter than the carrier, must be attached off-center to a carrier side . The weight of the squeegee carrier, which runs over almost the entire width of the carrier and is movable with respect to the carrier, has a disadvantageous effect on the print quality since it acts on one side of the squeegee. This has the more disadvantageous consequences, the lower the contact pressure to be used for the printing. The known designs are also, because of the need to arrange two beams, relatively heavy and therefore expensive.

The invention has for its object to design a screen printing machine of this type so that the position of the doctor blade on the carrier and the size of the doctor blade has no influence on the print quality.

To solve this problem it is provided in a screen printing machine of the type mentioned that the support is mounted with both ends directly in the guide rails, and that the printing cylinder double-acting printing cylinder and as longitudinally displaceably attached to the support and provided with swivel guides for the squeegee guide devices for the squeegee are designed.

With this configuration, on the one hand, the height adjustment devices for the carrier at its ends can be dispensed with. The devices for lifting the carrier on the return stroke can also be omitted and it is no longer necessary to adjust the angle of the doctor blade by pivoting the entire carrier. Through the configuration according to the invention the arrangement of the pressure cylinders designed as guide devices directly on the carrier is sufficient. Since the same pressure can be applied to these guide cylinders, the squeegee holder which is now attached directly to them is pressed uniformly against the printing table with the squeegee rubber, without any bending of the carrier which may occur in particular at high pressures and long squeegees. The squeegee holder itself is not bent with the new version. By arranging the swivel guides on the cylinders, the angle adjustment of the squeegee can also be carried out in a very simple manner without the support having to be stored in its guide rails in a complex manner. The invention therefore enables a particularly simple design for the doctor device, which also has the advantage that the lifting movement of the doctor can be carried out by the guide cylinders. In this way, a stable straight guidance of the carrier can be achieved, which is not influenced by adjusting devices between the rails and the carrier. The guidance can therefore be very precise. The print quality can be improved since any bending of the carrier has no influence. Finally, it does not matter whether or not the doctor blade is arranged symmetrically to the carrier in the new embodiment. Due to the complete decoupling of the squeegee suspension from the carrier, deformations of the carrier have no influence on the contact pressure of the squeegee. The entire arrangement can also be made much lighter by the new design. The manufacturing effort is reduced.

The carrier can advantageously be designed as a hollow profile carrier, for example made of light metal, which is very stable but nevertheless light. This hollow profile support can be provided with grooves on at least one outside, in which the pressure cylinders accommodated in brackets can be clamped in a longitudinally displaceable manner.

Advantageously and in a simple manner, the swivel guide can consist of an arcuate link guide which is attached to the lower end of the piston rod of the pressure cylinder and which is provided on the counterpart which can be displaced in the link with a clamping profile piece which corresponds to the profile of the doctor carrier to be attached and the profile itself known fastening claws. It becomes possible to move the pivot axis of the link guide in the area of the squeegee edge facing the printing table, so that when the angle setting is changed, the inclination of the squeegee rubber to the table is changed, but not the position of the squeegee edge in the direction of the squeegee movement to the printing table. It is therefore not necessary to readjust the carrier starting position when the squeegee changes its angular position.

Finally, it is possible and advantageous - as is known per se - to assign not only a doctor blade but also a pre-doctor blade to the carrier. In this case, the same pressure cylinders can also be used to guide the pre-doctor. In order to avoid that the pre-doctor rests on the screen with too much pressure when the doctor blade moves back, the pressure cylinder assigned to the pre-doctor can be provided with a height adjustment device, which can consist in a simple manner of an adjusting or counter nut which corresponds to the End of the cylinder protruding from a correspondingly designed piston rod is assigned to the pressure cylinder.

Je nach Bewegungsrichtung wird dabei entweder die Vorrakel (18) oder der Rakelträger (4) mit dem Rakelgummi (3) nach oben gezogen, was durch die Wirkung der doppelt wirkend ausgebildeten Druckzylinder (7, 7′) in einem an sich bekannten Arbeitsrythmus erfolgt.3 and 4, pressure cylinders (7 and 7 ') are provided, which are arranged according to FIG. 2 on the two transverse sides of the carrier (6). At the lower end of the piston rod of the two pressure cylinders (7) shown in Fig. 1 (Fig. 2) is one Swivel guide (8) arranged, which will be explained in detail with reference to FIGS. 3 and 4. A squeegee holder (4) with a squeegee rubber (3) is fastened to this swivel guide (8) with the aid of clamping pieces (23). On the printing cylinders (7 '), a doctor blade (18) is arranged, the position of which relative to the printing table (1) can be adjusted by means of a height adjustment device assigned to the printing cylinder (7'). In the exemplary embodiment shown, it consists of an upper end of the printing cylinder (7 ') Protruding piston rod (17) associated adjusting nut (20) possibly with a lock nut. As can be seen from FIG. 2, the carrier (6) is moved back and forth by the drive devices (not shown) over the printing table (1) in the direction of the arrows (24). Depending on the direction of movement, either the pre-squeegee (18) or the squeegee carrier (4) with the squeegee rubber (3) is pulled upwards, which is done by the action of the double-acting pressure cylinder (7, 7 ') in a known working rhythm.

Sie kann durch die Knebelschraube (28) mit dem Gewindeschaft (27) von dem Flansch (25a) weggedrückt werden, so daß dadurch die Lage der Halterung (11) am Träger (6) gesichert wird.3 and 4 show that the carrier (6) is designed as a hollow profile, which is provided on the two sides arranged in the direction of movement (24) with grooves (9) of T-shaped cross section into the sliding blocks (10) can be used, which can press a clamping bridge (11) against a flange (25a) of the cylinder (7) and thus hold the cylinder (7) longitudinally displaceably in the direction of the grooves (9). For this purpose, the clamping bridge (11) is connected to the sliding blocks (10) via screw bolts (26). It can be pushed away from the flange (25a) by the toggle screw (28) with the threaded shaft (27), so that the position of the holder (11) on the carrier (6) is thereby secured.

As can be seen from Fig. 5, the pressure cylinders (7) - analogous to the pressure cylinders (7 ') - are designed as double-acting pneumatic cylinders, which are each provided with two pressure connections (29 and 30), which are above and below the Pistons (31) are provided. The piston (31) continues on both sides in a piston rod (17) which is guided continuously in the bearing bushes (32) of the cylinder (33) and which consists of two screwed sections between which the piston (31) is held. A square piece (41) is pressed onto the end of the piston rod protruding from the bottom of the cylinder (33), on which a frame (16) can be pivoted about the axis of the pin (34) with the aid of a pin (34). Firmly connected to the frame (16) is a circular arch (12) with a longitudinal slot (35) in which, with the aid of a clamping screw (36), a counterpart (13) which is adapted to the shape of the backdrop (12) is held for its part is provided in one piece with a clamping profile piece (14) which projects a piece from the counterpart (13) in the direction parallel to the support (6) or the printing table (1). The clamping profile pieces (14) of the two pressure cylinders (7) shown in Fig. 1 are facing away from each other. As can be seen from FIG. 6, the upper contact edge (4a) of the doctor holder (4) is placed on these clamping profile pieces (14) and the doctor holder (4) is then - in a manner known per se - via a claw-like clamping member (23) , which engages with corresponding projections (4b) of the squeegee holder (4) with hooks (23a), held firmly on the clamping profile pieces (14). This is done in that the clamping pieces (23) are provided with sliding pieces (38, 39) adjustable against each other by a screw movement caused by the toggle screw (37), which slide on roof-like inclined surfaces (40) of the clamping profile piece (14) and towards each other movement, move the clamping piece (23) away from the doctor blade carrier (4) and thereby press the doctor blade carrier (4) against the clamping profile piece (14).

The squeegee holder (4) with the squeegee rubber (3) which is firmly connected to the piston rods (17) of the cylinders (7) can be adjusted in its angle to the printing table in a simple manner by loosening the clamping screw (36) (Fig 4) the desired pivot adjustment of the counterpart (13) to the backdrop (12) is carried out, after which the clamping screw (36) is tightened again. The design of the link (12) and the counterpart (13) is carried out so that the pivot axis (15) of the link (12) - see Fig. 6 - approximately on the edge (3a) of the squeegee rubber (3 ) runs. A pivoting movement of the doctor blade thereby causes an angle change in the setting of the doctor blade rubber to the printing table, but not a change in the relative position of the doctor blade edge (3a) to the printing table. With an angular adjustment of the squeegee rubber, it is therefore not necessary to readjust the position of the support relative to the printing table for the start of the squeegee movement.

The hollow profile carrier (6) can consist of light metal. Since it is mounted directly on the guide rails (5), it can be easily designed. Its deflection in the case of a large squeegee pressure does not matter, since the squeegee can be applied to the printing table (1) with uniform pressure via the two printing cylinders (7), regardless of whether the support (6) has bent or not. It is therefore also possible, as shown in FIG. 1, not to arrange the doctor blade symmetrically with respect to the center of the carrier (6) without fear of any disadvantages in the quality of the screen printing produced. Since the pressure cylinder (7) or (7 ') are relatively simple and light in construction, and since the doctor holder (4) is not attached to a continuous support part, but only to clamping profile pieces of short length, the new design can be a very lightweight design can be achieved.

It is also possible to attach the squeegee holder (4) to the support with more than just two pressure cylinders if this should appear expedient because of the length of the squeegee holder. An arrangement of the fastening points that is distributed as evenly as possible over the length of the doctor carrier should be taken into account for reasons of uniform force transmission.
