Abstract

In a known fume-extracting hood, air is drawn in via a supply air opening by means of a fan and conveyed to a filter arranged in front of the fan in the direction of flow. By means of the direct suction via the supply air opening, there may be draughts in the area surrounding the fume-extracting hood. In order to avoid draughts, with at least constant efficiency of the fume-extracting hood, the fan (7) is arranged in such a manner that suction air (A) flows through the filter (8) and compressed air (A) into a duct (9) which is designed in such a manner that the air flow (A) emerging from it is conducted into the region of the side of the filter (8) facing away from the fan (7) and has a high induction capacity for taking with it air (B) which is loaded with odorous substances and cooking fumes. The fume-extracting hood is suitable for circulating air and outgoing air operation. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to an extractor hood, in particular for kitchens, with a housing having a supply air and an exhaust air opening, in which a filter and a fan for generating an air flow which at least partially forms a circulating air circuit are arranged.

In a known extractor hood of this type (DE-OS 23 40 533), the filter is connected downstream of the fan in the direction of flow. The arrangement of the filter in a flow which at least partially forms a circulating air circuit leads to a good cleaning of the air containing odorous substances and cooking vapor. Because the suction side of the fan is arranged adjacent to the supply air opening, disturbing drafts can occur in the space surrounding it during operation of the extractor hood. The arrangement of the filter in the interior of the housing has the further consequence that it is relatively inaccessible for replacement.

It is also known (EP-A1 01 63 763) to supply untempered outside air as primary air to an extractor hood intended for commercial kitchen facilities. The mixture formed after induction of room air containing odorous substances and cooking vapors is transported to the outside via an exhaust air duct. Since the amount of room air induced and thus discharged with the primary air is not replaced by a targeted supply of a corresponding amount of supply air, drafts can occur in the room as a result of a negative pressure. In addition, the supply results in less temperature Primary air a loss of heating energy. Furthermore, the possibility that a negative pressure arises means that the simultaneous operation of fireplaces for solid, liquid fuels and gaseous fuels, which take the combustion air from the environment, is not permitted according to the Fire Ordinance.

The invention has for its object to develop a generic extractor hood so that with effective removal of odors and cooking fumes, there is little loss of heating energy and drafts are largely avoided.

This object is achieved in an extractor hood of the type mentioned according to the invention in that the fan is arranged such that intake air flows through the filter and compressed air into a channel which is designed such that the air flow emerging from it in the area facing away from the fan Side of the filter is guided and has a high induction capacity for taking air contaminated with odors and cooking fumes.

Due to the fact that the intake air flows through the filter, drafts in the space surrounding the extractor hood are largely avoided. At the same time, there is good removal of exhaust air contaminated with odorous substances and cooking vapor due to the high induction capacity of the compressed air emerging from the duct in the region of the filter facing away from the fan. The channel can be largely closed or only formed by air baffles. The arrangement of the filter on the suction side of the fan and thus in a side of the housing facing a hotplate also leads to the filter being easily accessible Lich and therefore easy to replace.

In a preferred embodiment, a second filter is arranged in the area of the exhaust air opening. The functions of both filters can thus be separated such that the filter arranged adjacent to the first fan is designed as a grease filter and the second filter as an odor filter. Since each of the two filters can be separated and replaced depending on the degree of soiling, the extractor hood can be operated cost-effectively.

It has proven to be advantageous for the second filter to be connected downstream of a second fan in the direction of flow. By means of the second fan, the air guided out of the extractor hood via the exhaust air opening can be controlled largely independently of the air flow forming a circulating air circuit.

It is particularly advantageous that the second filter and the second fan are arranged in opposite end sections of an exhaust air duct.

It is also advantageous that the exhaust air opening can be at least partially closed. The degree of opening of the exhaust air opening allows control of the amount of air led out of the extractor hood through the exhaust air opening in a particularly simple manner.

In a further advantageous embodiment, a line for supply and another for removing fresh air or exhaust air can be connected to the housing. The extractor hood can therefore also be used in exhaust air operation with the advantages mentioned.

It is advantageous that both lines are combined in the form of a double-walled channel. In addition to a constructive simplification in the manufacture and assembly of the extractor hood, the resulting common wall between the fresh air and exhaust air line leads to heating of the fresh air and thus to a reduction in heat losses. It is particularly advantageous that a fan is assigned to at least one line, so that the air quantity balance between exhaust air and fresh air supplied can be compensated in a particularly simple manner.

Two exemplary embodiments of extractor hoods according to the invention are explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing.

Es zeigen in schematischer Darstellung:

  • Fig. 1 eine erfindungsgemäße Dunstabzugshaube im Umluftbetrieb; und
  • Fig. 2 eine erfindungsgemäße Dunstabzugshaube im Abluftbetrieb.
In a schematic representation:
  • 1 an extractor hood according to the invention in recirculation mode; and
  • Fig. 2 an extractor hood according to the invention in exhaust air operation.

The extractor hood shown in FIG. 1 and designated as a whole by 1 shows the use of the extractor hood according to the invention in recirculation mode. The extractor hood 1 has a housing 2 with a supply air and an exhaust air opening 3, 4, and is attached to a wall 5 in a manner not shown. At a distance from the extractor hood and below the supply air opening 3 is a hotplate 6 from which ambient air is permeated with odorous substances and cooking vapor.

A fan 7 is arranged inside the housing 2 net that intake air flows through a filter 8 arranged in front of the supply air opening 3. The filter 8 is accessible via the supply air opening 3 and can be replaced in a simple manner. The compressed air generated by the fan 7 flows into a channel 9 with a nozzle-shaped area, so that the air flow emerging from the channel 9 has a high inductance for entraining the air contaminated with odors and cooking fumes. The channel 9 can be closed within the housing 2 or only be formed by a baffle 9 arranged within the housing 2 '. The end of the channel 9 facing away from the fan 7 is arranged in the area of the supply air opening 3 such that the air flowing out of it is guided into the area of the side of the filter 8 facing away from the fan 7.

The fan 7 thus generates an air flow which at least partially forms a circulating air circuit and which is indicated by arrows marked with A. Through this circulating air circuit, polluted air is passed through the filter 8 several times and thus effectively cleaned.

The large induction capacity of the air flow A means that a sufficient amount of the air identified by arrows B, which contains odorous substances and cooking vapor, is carried through the filter 8 for an effective operation of the extractor hood 1. As a result of the inclusion of the amount of air B to be cleaned in the air flow A and the arrangement of the filter 8 in the area of the suction side of the fan 7, drafts outside of the extractor hood 1, as occur when the air laden with emissions is drawn in directly, are avoided.

An improvement in the exhaust air flow led out of the extractor hood, shown by an arrow C Darge beyond the multiple filtering in the filter 8, a second filter 10 arranged in the area of the exhaust air opening 4 is used. This second filter 10 is supplied with the exhaust air flow C via a second fan 11, the second fan 11 and the second filter 10 are each arranged in a structurally simple manner at the opposite ends of an exhaust air duct 12. The exhaust air flow can be controlled in a simple manner by the fan 11; a movable guide flap 13 can be provided as a further control means.

The fact that two filters 8, 10 are used, these can each be designed independently of one another according to their respective tasks. The filter 8, through which the air flow A forms a circulating air circuit, is designed as a grease filter and the filter 10 as an odor filter. The filters 8, 10 can be replaced individually in accordance with the respective load level, so that maintenance is simplified and the operating costs for the extractor hood are reduced.

The extractor hood shown in Fig. 2 shows the use of an extractor hood according to the invention in exhaust air operation. This extractor hood 1, in which parts with parts of the extractor hood shown in FIG. 1 are provided with the same reference numerals, differs essentially from this only in that their housing 2 with lines 14, 15 for supplying fresh air or for removing Exhaust air is connected. The lines 14, 15 are combined in the form of a double-walled channel, so that the line 14 is delimited by the inner wall of the channel and the line 15 by both walls. As a result, fresh air supplied in line 14 is heated by the exhaust air in line 15 in the manner of a heat exchanger, so that the loss occurs Heating energy is reduced. The transport of exhaust air D via line 15 is supported by a third fan 16, which is assigned to the inlet area of line 15 into extractor hood 1. The division of the air flow, which is guided from the interior of the extractor hood 1, into an air flow C, which flows into the space surrounding the extractor hood 1, and an air flow D, which is led out of this space via line 15, is in addition to a control Can also be controlled via the fans 11, 16 by changing the position of the guide flap 13.
