Abstract

The present invention is concerned with a receptacle made of deep-drawn plastic material, comprising at least two compartments suitable to accommodate dry feedstock, on the one hand, and pasty feedstock, on the other, and a sealing rim flange extending in the plane of the compartments' openings and also extending between the two compartments' openings sealed by a cover foil. To preclude a germinal impairment of the pasty feedstock to be loaded through the dust-developing dry feedstock, the receptacle according to the invention is configured such that between the cover foil (1) and the sealing rim flange (2), a thin intermediate foil (3) is provided and that the same is perforated over the dry feed-stock compartment (4).

Description

The invention relates to a cup made of deep-drawn plastic with at least two chambers for dry and paste-like filling material on the one hand and a sealing edge flange which extends in the chamber opening plane and also extends between the two chamber openings and which are closed with a cover film.

Cups of this type, which are also referred to as double-chamber cups, are known, for example according to DE-A-26 53 906, 27 28 940 and DE-U - 83 29 744. Such cups are used to dispense different contents in one To accommodate the pack and to be able to offer it with a pack for common consumption, whereby the different filling goods, such as yoghurt on the one hand and dry muesli preparations are only brought together at the moment of consumption, ie after opening the packaging, so that they can be consumed together. Despite all efforts to carry out the filling process of such packaging as sterile as possible with known measures, this does not work satisfactorily with such packaging, since on the one hand the dry goods of the type mentioned, for example, are never completely germ-free and, on the other hand, the filling process of the dry goods is never carried out entirely without dust can, it does not matter whether the pasty filling material has been introduced before or after the filling of the dry material, ie, dust and thus germ precipitation in the area of the other chamber for the pasty filling material, which is usually for a Germination is particularly suitable, are practically unavoidable. Longer storage times for contents packaged in this way in a double chamber cannot be considered.

The invention is therefore based on the object to improve cups of the type mentioned in such a way that germ contamination of the moist-pasty contents is excluded with certainty.

This object is achieved with a cup of the type mentioned according to the invention by the features stated in the characterizing part of the main claim. Advantageous further developments result from the subclaims. The filling process of such a package is carried out as follows, taking into account generally customary sterility conditions, regardless of whether the deep-drawn cups are led individually or on a strand through the filling station: first the pasty filling material is introduced into one chamber under sterile conditions, then the intermediate film applied and sealed, for reasons of expediency, through both chambers and only then is the dry filling material introduced through the thin intermediate film into the dry material chamber. For this purpose, the intermediate film is either pre-punched accordingly or the unperforated and sealed intermediate film is simply pierced with the filling tube for the dry goods. As far as it is a pre-punched intermediate film, the pre-punched hole is adapted exactly to the cross section of the filling tube, so that the filling tube is sealed as tightly as possible when reaching through the intermediate foil. However, this tight enclosure is not a mandatory requirement, since the other chamber with the pasty filling material is already completely and sterile sealed and therefore no germs can get into it.

Since the intermediate film is firmly sealed onto the sealing edge flange, it may even be possible to seal the cover film can be dispensed with, that is, in this case, it would be possible to dispense with more complex sealing tools on the packaging machine in question, which work in time. The simultaneous co-covering of the dry goods chamber when applying the intermediate film is not mandatory, but is expedient for the sake of making the packaging of such packaging as simple as possible, since otherwise one would have to provide several strips of intermediate films when passing through such cups, which would increase and also increase the outlay on equipment for the packaging machine in question it is not observed that the sealing edge flange region separating the two chambers from one another must extend in the direction of passage. Basically, the task is also to be solved by simply covering the chamber for the pasty filling after filling with the intermediate film and simply leaving the dry goods chamber open, ie the curl of the intermediate film for the introduction of the dry material is then simply by the in this Represented area omitted part of the intermediate film. The principle according to the invention is of course not limited to two chamber designs of such cups, but can also be used without problems if more than two chambers are provided on the cup.

The cup according to the invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing.

As can be seen from FIGS. 1 to 7, it is a cup made of thermoformed plastic with at least two chambers 4, 4 'for dry and pasty filling material on the one hand and a sealing edge flange 2 extending in the chamber opening plane 9, which also between the two Chamber openings that are closed with a cover film 1. A thin intermediate film 3 made of a suitable film material is arranged between the cover film 1 and the sealing edge flange 2 and is perforated above the dry material chamber 4. As mentioned above, this perforation can either be provided from the outset in the intermediate film 3 to be applied as a punched hole 5, or this curl is simply pierced for the filling process according to FIG. 5 by means of a suitably designed filling tube 10, as shown, the ejected perforated surface 6 of the intermediate film 3 according to FIG. 6 remains connected to it by means of a permanent connecting web 7, so that the perforated surface 6 does not get into the dry material and can also be removed when the intermediate film is removed to open the package. Since it is only essential for the whole to cover the chamber 4 'for the pasty filling material and after it has been filled in a germ-proof manner, it would also suffice to only cover the chamber 4' with the intermediate film and to seal it in a germ-proof manner. For the reasons mentioned, however, both chambers 4, 4 'are covered with the intermediate film 3. In particular when covering both chambers 4, 4 'with the intermediate film 3 can be considered to fix the cover film 1 on the sealed intermediate film 3 only with an adhesive layer 8.
