Abstract

The connection described comprises two arbitrarily and mutually separable elements, one of which is permanently fixed to the sail board and the other held in a removable manner at the free end of the foot of the mast. In order to obtain the smallest and most compact configuration possible, the two connection elements are shaped in the manner of a disk or a plate and can be fitted to one another by means of projections, recesses and/or undercuts in the manner of a locking bar.

Description

The invention relates to a coupling for connecting a rig to a sail board according to the preamble of claim 1.

Originally, the rig of a sailing board was connected to the board body by inserting a pin provided on a mast foot into a corresponding hole in the board body and then holding it in place by friction.

The then arising demand for the possibility of a safety separation of rig and sail board with a certain tractive force acting on the mast foot led to a multitude of so-called safety mast feet. Either they offer the possibility of changing the frictional resistance between the pin and the hole wall, or they have special locking devices. In any case, such constructions require an additional and complicated and therefore also prone to failure mechanics.

Recently there has been a tendency, especially in the case of so-called sinkers and small boards, that the rig can no longer unintentionally separate from the sailing board. On the other hand, a deliberate separation must of course be possible for transport and storage reasons.

A generic coupling is e.g. shown and described in DE-GbM 83 00 658. However, it has not yet found its way into practice. One part of the coupling is indirectly connected to the sail board, specifically via a mast foot sled, which is slidably mounted in the mast track formed by a rail. The arrangement is such that a shift is also possible while surfing. Such a possibility of moving is not necessary for small boards.

Diese Konstruktion, die zwar einfach im Aufbau ist, läßt keine gewollte schnelle Trennung von Rigg und Segelbrett zu.DE-33 02 136 C 2 relates to a device for connecting a rig to a sail board, in which the lower mast foot end is designed as a threaded bolt which is screwed into a nut which is displaceably but non-rotatably mounted in the mast track designed as a rail. This construction, which is simple in construction, does not allow a deliberate, rapid separation of rig and sail board.

The coupling according to the German utility model mentioned earlier is very voluminous and therefore very high. The two Coupling parts are semi-cylindrical in shape, with a locking sleeve being provided on the part on the mast foot side.

The purpose of the present invention is therefore to design and design a generic coupling for connecting a rig to a sail board so that its construction is simple and easy. It should be so small and compact that it does not hinder the sailor when the feet change position. Furthermore, the coupling should allow an element provided as a mast track to end flush with the surface of the sailing board.

This is achieved according to the invention in that both coupling parts are designed in the manner of disks or plates and are connected to one another by projections, recesses and / or undercuts in the manner of a bolt.

In a constructive embodiment of the invention, there can be a rotary bolt connection as well as a sliding bolt connection between the two coupling parts.

The part of the coupling connected to the mast foot expediently covers the part on the sail board side like a hood. As a result, the sailor is not hindered in his movements on the sailing board and is not at risk of injury.

It has proven to be advantageous that a releasable locking element is provided to secure the connection of the two coupling parts to one of the parts.

In the embodiments according to FIGS. 1 to 4, one part 1 or 11 or 31 of the coupling is firmly connected to the sail board 20 (see FIGS. 2 and 4) in that it is connected to a rail 2 or 12 or 32 is screwed, which is formed, for example, by a so-called fin box and is worked into the top of the sailboard in such a way that it lies flush with it. In this way, no so-called stumbling edge is required, which poses a risk of injury to the sailor and hinders him in maneuvers.

The coupling part 1 according to the first embodiment is plate-shaped and has two tabs extending between the legs of the rail 2, each of which has a bore for a connecting screw 3. The connecting screws each clamp a clamping nut 4 in the rail and thereby secure the connection of the coupling part 1 to the sail board. By recesses and undercuts are formed on the coupling part 1 three inwardly extending projections 5, which are intended to cooperate with the projections 7 provided on the coupling part 6, so that the two coupling parts can be firmly connected to one another in the manner of a rotary bolt.

The mast base of the rig, equipped with a so-called power joint, has a threaded pin on which the coupling part 6 is attached and held by means of a nut 8. The screws 3 and the nut 8 can be secured against unwanted loosening by known elements.

Die Rastkraft für die Nase 10 resultiert im vorliegenden Fall aus der eigenen Elastizität der Verlängerung 9.The coupling part 6 has a lever-like extension 9, which serves as a handle for locking the coupling part 6 with the coupling part 1. At the free end of this extension a locking lug 10 is formed, which projects in the locked state between the two legs of the rail 2, so that the coupling part 6 is secured against unintentional rotation and thus loosening from the coupling part 1. The latching force for the nose 10 in the present case results from the elasticity of the extension 9.

In the embodiment according to FIG. 3, the coupling part 11 on the sail board side is screwed to the rail 12 by means of screws 13 and clamping nuts, not shown, as in the embodiment described first. In contrast to the coupling part 1, this coupling part 11 has lugs 17, while the rig-side coupling part 16, which is screwed to the power joint by means of the screw 18, in turn has projections 15 formed by recesses and undercuts. According to the first embodiment, the coupling part 16 also has an extension 19, which in turn has a detent 21 at its free end.

The coupling according to FIG. 3 has the advantage over that according to FIGS. 1 and 2 that the coupling part 16 covers the coupling part 11 on the sail board side like a hood. In Fig. 3 the coupling is shown loosened. The arrow 22 indicates how the two coupling parts are to be put together.

The embodiment according to FIG. 4 differs from that according to FIGS. 1 and 2 essentially in that the two coupling parts 31, 36 are square and are designed as plates. The clutch Part 31, like coupling part 1 according to the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2, has tabs for connecting screws 3 that extend between the legs of rail 32. Six recesses 33 are provided in coupling part 31, while six hooks 37 are provided on coupling part 36. The connection of the two coupling parts takes place in such a way that the hooks 37 of the coupling part 36 are brought into engagement with the recesses 33 of the coupling part 31. Subsequently, the coupling part 36 is then moved to the bottom left with respect to the illustration, as a result of which the hooks engage under the edge part of the cutouts lying in the direction of displacement, so that the coupling part 36 can no longer be removed from the coupling part 31.

So that the coupling part 36 cannot be moved unintentionally on the coupling part 31 parallel to the latter, it has a resilient tongue 38 which, in the state of use, has its angled end 39 snapped into a recess 34 in the coupling part 31. The tongue can be raised, for example, by means of a screwdriver to release the latching. The hooking can then be released and the coupling part 36 and thus the rig removed from the coupling part 31 and thus from the sail board.

In this case, however, there is no rail incorporated into the sail board. Rather, the coupling part 41 is directly connected to the sail board 20, for example by screws, not shown. This coupling part has two recesses 42, 43 through which hooks 48, 49 can be inserted on the coupling part 46 to which the power joint 47 is screwed. Subsequent displacement of the coupling part 46 with respect to the illustration to the left then entangles the two coupling parts.

On the coupling part 46, a locking lug 50 is worked on, which is followed by a tab 51. The connecting piece 52 of the locking lug is weakened in such a way that it can rebound under a corresponding load. If the coupling part 46 takes up its position of use on the coupling part 41, the locking lug engages in the recess 43 of the coupling part 41 and thus secures the coupling part 46 against displacement parallel to the upper side of the sail board 20. By lifting the tab 51, the locking lug 50 can be disengaged bring the coupling part 41 and thus move the coupling part 46 into its lifting position.
