Definitions
- the invention relates to a heat exchanger according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
- the invention is based on the object of eliminating the disadvantages presented in relation to the known and of specifying a heat exchanger of the type mentioned which, in particular with regard to the critical arc or deflection area of the matrix, has a comparatively high degree of heat exchange and at the same time a functionally appropriate, reliable mounting and support of the in the direction of the arc or deflection area of the matrix projecting tube ends.
- the respective plate-shaped chamber can thus be formed from two metal sheets which enclose the rows of tubes of the matrix with their edges at the corresponding points and are connected to one another in a fixed and fluid-tight manner at the other edges of their circumference which are jointly formed.
- connection points or spacers can, for example, be designed such that they suitably influence the internal flow of the one fluid (compressed air) not only in the sense of a flow deflection but also in the sense of optimizing the heat transfer conditions.
- the plates do not have to have a straight-walled, smooth surface, but can be provided with corrugations and relief-like structures of the surface, by means of which they are able to react to thermal deformations and distortions in a largely soft and dimensionally stable manner. In a double function, these corrugations and relief structures can also be designed to improve the heat transfer. In order to maintain narrow chamber distances between the two plates as well as between adjacent plates of different layers (hot gas channels), it is further provided within the scope of the invention to have the shape patterns correlate with one another accordingly.
- Fig. 1 illustrates a profile heat exchanger in cross-counterflow design; this has two manifolds 1, 2 arranged parallel to one another.
- a profile tube matrix projecting laterally on both sides from the collecting lines 1, 2 is designated by 3.
- the outer matrix deflection section 4 is designed as a plate heat exchanger.
- the profile tube matrix 3 shown schematically in FIG. 1 protrudes transversely from the two manifolds 1, 2 against the hot gas flow H.
- the matrix deflection section 4 consists of plates 6, 7 which form or enclose compressed air deflection chambers 5 and which are preferably firmly and fluid-tightly connected to one another along their outer edges. Connected to the plates 6, 7 with the respective deflection chambers 5 communicating, opposite flow of compressed air D1, D3 profile tube rows 8, 9 of the matrix 3 are connected on the inlet or outlet side.
- compressed air D to be preheated flows into the manifold 1 on one side, is fed from there to the relevant rows of pipes 8 of the upper matrix block, then deflected via the deflection chambers 5 contained in the matrix deflection section 4 (D 2 ), so that they are now in the opposite direction of flow can flow into the lower matrix block containing the relevant rows of pipes 9 (D 3 ), from which it can then flow unheated into the lower manifold 2, in order to finally be supplied to a suitable consumer, for example the combustion chamber of a gas turbine engine ( D 4 ).
- a suitable consumer for example the combustion chamber of a gas turbine engine ( D 4 ).
- the matrix deflection section 4 protrudes against a lateral heat exchanger housing wall 10 which supports the hot gas guide H, H '.
- the relevant plates 6, 7 are along their outer surfaces - see also e.g. 3 and 4 - flows around from hot gas portions H '.
- the contours K, K '(FIG. 1) characterize the U-shaped matrix arch end region made of individual profile tubes which is customary in the context of the prior art.
- a matrix deflection section according to the invention can of course be connected as a plate concept together with relevant housing casing to the section tube matrix sections broken off in the picture on the right.
- the plates for example 6 ′, each forming the deflection chambers 5, have bevelled end faces 11, 12 on the matrix profile entry or exit side.
- the adjacent housing wall 10' is curved.
- the bristles of the brush seals 14, 15 always nestle against the relevant hot gas gaps A (FIG. 1) from the outside sealing end faces or a guide wall 16 connected to the deflection section 4 'or its plates - here 6', 7 '.
- the individual plates 6 ', 7' are held together accordingly by a frame structure consisting of links 17, 18 (A), which in turn is suspended on the housing wall 10 'to compensate for movement, by means of end-face articulation means 19, 20.
- FIG. 4 explains, by means of the cut-open plate-chamber section, the form-fitting and fluid-tight gripping possibility and design provided from the local plate bulges 21, 22 of the profile tube rows 8 and 9 of the tube matrix 3 that open locally into the relevant deflection chamber 5.
- the number of tubes in one profile tube row 8 is here, for example, greater than the number of tubes in the other profile row 9 through which compressed air flows in the opposite direction D 3 .
- FIG. 5 embodies a deflection chamber configuration in which primarily at discrete locations between two adjacent plates 6, 7 (Fig. 1, 3 or 4) defining the chamber flow cross section, designed as deflection spacers, for example pin 23 or baffles 24 or straight guide elements 25 are provided.
- the purpose of the arrangement and design of these pegs, sheets and guide elements should definitely be to create local, pronounced vortex or even recirculation zones (arrows S) at certain points, which are local Serve to increase the compressed air residence time in the interest of a high degree of heat exchange; with respect to the arrows S, this is the “critical” deflection zone between the two rows of pipes 8, 9, in which a relatively pronounced separation zone is to be expected - without such or similar sheets or pegs.
- FIG. 6 a flow deflection that is as homogeneous as possible while primarily avoiding a pronounced separation zone in the critical inner deflection area already mentioned in FIG. 5 — between the two rows of pipes 8, 9 in the deflection chamber — is sought; by means of appropriate plate contouring, for example 7 '' or deflecting channel contouring and in a manner corresponding to a locally distributed arrangement of the pin-like spacing means 23 in the image shown here from current and potential lines, the deflecting chamber should initially - seen from left to right - be essentially continuous have an inwardly curved course (chamber part T 1 ).
- the deflection chamber Downstream of the inner deflection point U, the deflection chamber should then expand to a laterally bulged chamber section of larger cross section (chamber part T 2 ); from the bulged chamber part T 2 then the deflection Taper the chamber again to a reducing cross-sectional chamber part T 3 , which in the section running out in the direction of the tube row 9 is essentially matched to the relevant access cross-section on the tube row 8 in T.
- the subject matter of the invention is not limited to all deflection aids or baffles or aerodynamic baffles at the same time as spacers; it can therefore be provided only partially radially protruding into the deflection chamber, applied to one or both plates 6, 7 or sheet metal protrusions as aerodynamic baffles to increase the degree of heat exchange and as deflection aids.
- the plates 6, 7 forming the deflection chambers 5 can be equipped on the hot gas and / or on the air side by means of thermal deformations to compensate and / or increase the degree of heat exchange, contouring.
- FIGS. 7 and 8 Such, e.g. Wavy or relief-like contours found on the relevant hot gas and compressed air sides result from FIGS. 7 and 8, the wave-shaped contours 26 in FIG. 7 being designed to run in the direction of the hot gas flow H '; 8, the relevant wavy contours 27 are designed to run transversely against the hot gas flow direction H '.
- the invention includes the possibility of combining corrugated configurations according to Fig. 7 or 8 with the deflection chamber design according to Fig. 5 or e.g. 7 and 8 each in an alternating sequence with a matrix deflection section 4.
- 9 embodies an inventive concept in which a plurality of channel-shaped deflection chambers which are fluidically separated from one another are arranged between two plates 6, 7 of the matrix deflection section 4 (claim 10); the number of channel-shaped deflection chambers is matched to the number of tubes of a matrix profile row 8 or 9 opening into it (claim 11); 9, the channel-shaped deflection chambers are formed between mutual half-profile formations 28, 29 of the two adjacent plates 6, 7 (claim 12).
- the invention also includes the idea, e.g. to provide two channel-shaped deflection chambers which are fluidly separated from one another and e.g. to let two tubes of a row of matrix profiles 8 or 9 open into each deflection chamber.
- channel-shaped deflection chambers can also be partially provided in fluid communication with one another.
- FIG. 10 illustrates a hollow profile with a lenticular or lancet-shaped cross section, which can advantageously be used in the subject matter of the invention, that is to say an aerodynamically optimized profile which tapered towards the hot gas flow H on the upstream and downstream sides for the respective profile tube rows 8 and 9 of the matrix 3 (FIG. 1).
- the lancet tube with its periodically changing curve shape is pushed far less from its position.
- the leading and trailing edges also experience different thermal longitudinal expansions; Following the law of the curve shape, however, they are homologous to one another in a distortion state that twists the lancet-shaped pipe cross sections. Only slight thermal stresses are built up so that the profile tube remains essentially in the plane of its curve and hardly bends in the direction of the higher temperature.
Abstract
The present invention relates to a heat exchanger with two manifolds (1, 2) arranged essentially parallel to one another and a cross-counterflow profile tube matrix (3) around which hot gas flows, into which compressed air to be heated is fed via the manifold and fed to the other manifold via a matrix deflection section is, wherein the matrix deflection section (4) is designed as a plate heat exchanger.
Description
The invention relates to a heat exchanger according to the preamble of
In such designs of heat exchangers known from GB-OS 2,130,355, the matrix profile tubes used for heat exchange are initially guided orthogonally from the central supply or distribution tube to the latter and in a straight line into the hot gas pressurized space for heat exchange, then follow an arc shape and finally into the opposite direction to be guided orthogonally to a central collecting tube. This design has proven particularly useful at high operating temperatures, since the individual pipe brackets can expand individually and largely without tension when heated.
- - The pipe brackets are of different lengths and therefore set different flow resistances against the medium flowing in them (compressed air). As a result, the mass flow distribution is different.
- - In the bend or deflection area of the tube bundle of the matrix, the external flow (hot gas) on its way through the tube bundle encounters locally very different geometric conditions. The optimization of the hot gas flow is difficult and can only be accomplished with considerable effort; in other words, the degree of heat exchange in the arc or deflection area of the matrix is not optimal.
- - The brackets tend to vibrate in the arch area and can only be supported against one another with complicated means to avoid them.
- - In the regular, straight-line part of the heat exchanger matrix, each profile tube is assigned to a specific location in the flow field. The system is very sensitive to deviations from these prescribed positions with regard to its aero-thermodynamic effectiveness. Thermal deformations as well as kinking effects due to compressive stresses along the axis of the profile tubes - e.g. due to frictional reaction forces in the spacer systems - cause the profile tubes to deviate from their design-oriented straight extension during operation of the heat exchanger.
- - The tube brackets protruding freely from the central tubes are exposed to shock loads without supporting the mass forces via external links.
- - Since the pipe brackets of a layer are of different lengths as a result of a curvature-concentric pipe stacking, their deflection under the effect of shock loads is of different sizes, namely the outer pipe brackets are longer and therefore softer than that inner tube bracket, which are correspondingly stiffer. As a result, the outer brackets are deflected more than the inner brackets when accelerated. Since the assignment of the individual, for example lancet-shaped, profile tubes to one another is carried out by spacers, the free deflection of the softer tube brackets is hindered by their support on the spacers of the stiffer tube brackets. This means that the stiffer pipe brackets have to support a large proportion of the mass forces of their softer pipe reins. In particular, the inner, stiff pipe brackets have to bear the sum of the loads from the hindrance of the deflection of all pipe brackets located further out.
The invention is based on the object of eliminating the disadvantages presented in relation to the known and of specifying a heat exchanger of the type mentioned which, in particular with regard to the critical arc or deflection area of the matrix, has a comparatively high degree of heat exchange and at the same time a functionally appropriate, reliable mounting and support of the in the direction of the arc or deflection area of the matrix projecting tube ends.
The stated object is achieved according to the invention with the characterizing part of
It is therefore provided according to the invention to replace the matrix bend area of a profile tube heat exchanger by plate-shaped chambers in which the fluid (compressed air) emerging from the orthogonally outward profile tubes of a tube layer or row is collected and mixed and Heat exchange of the orthogonally inward directed pipe layer or row is supplied.
Gegenüber Bekanntem ergeben sich dabei u.a. folgende Vorteile:
- 1. The profile tubes of the heat exchanger are not only positioned exactly to one another on the side of their origin in the distributor tube or their junction in the relevant manifold, but also in the outer region of their extension in a fixed structural association. The assignment of each individual profile tube to its assigned location in the flow field can thus be exactly maintained even when thermally induced constraints and deformations are involved.
- 2. A collective of plate-shaped chambers lying next to one another in layers can be supported in an adjacent holding device, so that the profile tubes remain largely load-free under the action of acceleration forces due to impacts and vibrations. This is done in particular with the aid of a reaction-free adaptation of the profiled tubes to displacements of their clamping points as a result of a periodically curved course of their longitudinal axis.
- 3. Vibrations of individual profile tubes of the matrix or of profile tube groups, which could cause both malfunctions in the function of heat exchange and material fatigue, can be avoided by firmly supporting the profile tubes on the plate chambers and supporting them on the surrounding structures.
- 4. An outer boundary of the collective of the plate chambers could be carried out in such a close distance that the hot gas flowing around the profile tubes and the plate chambers is guided optimally and a lateral escape of the hot gas flow, bypassing the heat exchanger, is avoided.
- 5. The number of outward profile tubes of a row of tubes can differ from that of an inward direction. This can be important for the thermodynamic optimization of the heat exchanger; In this way, for example, if desired, different compressed air flow velocities can be achieved in the two rows or layers of profiles through which flow flows in opposite directions.
- 6. Different materials can be used for the two rows or layers of profiles flowed in opposite directions.
In a further embodiment, the respective plate-shaped chamber can thus be formed from two metal sheets which enclose the rows of tubes of the matrix with their edges at the corresponding points and are connected to one another in a fixed and fluid-tight manner at the other edges of their circumference which are jointly formed.
For stiffening and support against the effects of the internal pressure, the two plates of each chamber can be connected to each other at discrete locations and the distance required to represent the flow cross-section getting produced. These connection points or spacers can, for example, be designed such that they suitably influence the internal flow of the one fluid (compressed air) not only in the sense of a flow deflection but also in the sense of optimizing the heat transfer conditions.
The plates do not have to have a straight-walled, smooth surface, but can be provided with corrugations and relief-like structures of the surface, by means of which they are able to react to thermal deformations and distortions in a largely soft and dimensionally stable manner.
According to the basic idea of the invention already mentioned and discussed (claim 1), the explanations previously made and based on the basic idea are based essentially on the advantageous embodiments of the invention within the scope of patent claims 2 to 16.

As more clearly in detail e.g. 1 to 5, the matrix deflection section 4 consists of
During operation, compressed air D to be preheated flows into the
Fig. 3 und 4 - von Heißgasanteilen H' umströmt.
Thereafter, the entire deflection section 4 of the
According to FIG. 1, it is assumed that a matrix deflection section according to the invention can of course be connected as a plate concept together with relevant housing casing to the section tube matrix sections broken off in the picture on the right.
However, the subject matter of the invention is already advantageously practicable if only one
Furthermore, it would be possible to integrate both manifolds as separate pipe guides in a common manifold in the specified heat exchanger concept, as is known per se.
According to FIG. 2, the plates, for example 6 ′, each forming the deflection chambers 5, have bevelled end faces 11, 12 on the matrix profile entry or exit side. Corresponding to the contour of the matrix deflecting section 4 'rounded on the outer surface side, the adjacent housing wall 10' is curved. To seal the hot gas leak gap 13 - between the housing wall 10 'and the deflection section 4' -
Die aus Fig. 1 entnehmbaren repräsentativen Symbole für die Heißgasströmung H' bzw. die jeweilige Druckluftströmung D1, D3 sind in sinngemäßer Zuordnung auch auf Fig. 3 und Fig. 4 übertragen worden.3 and 4 it can also be seen that in these cases, for example, the
9 der Rohrmatrix 3.In particular, FIG. 4 explains, by means of the cut-open plate-chamber section, the form-fitting and fluid-tight gripping possibility and design provided from the local plate bulges 21, 22 of the
From FIG. 3 it can also be seen that the number of tubes in one
Using the same reference numerals for essentially unchanged basic components, FIG. 5 embodies a deflection chamber configuration in which primarily at discrete locations between two
According to FIG. 6, a flow deflection that is as homogeneous as possible while primarily avoiding a pronounced separation zone in the critical inner deflection area already mentioned in FIG. 5 — between the two rows of
According to claim 4, the subject matter of the invention is not limited to all deflection aids or baffles or aerodynamic baffles at the same time as spacers; it can therefore be provided only partially radially protruding into the deflection chamber, applied to one or both
According to claim 5, the
Such, e.g. Wavy or relief-like contours found on the relevant hot gas and compressed air sides result from FIGS. 7 and 8, the wave-shaped contours 26 in FIG. 7 being designed to run in the direction of the hot gas flow H '; 8, the relevant
Platten- beabstandung A (Fig. 1) miteinander korrelierend ausgebildet sein.In an expedient design (claim 7), the contours in question should be maintained while maintaining the chamber-side wall spacing (for example chamber 5, FIG. 4) as well as the wall or plate wall on the hot gas flow side. spacing A (Fig. 1) to be correlated.
The invention includes the possibility of combining corrugated configurations according to Fig. 7 or 8 with the deflection chamber design according to Fig. 5 or e.g. 7 and 8 each in an alternating sequence with a matrix deflection section 4.
9 abgestimmt (Anspruch 11); ferner werden in Fig. 9 die kanalförmigen Umlenkkammern zwischen gegenseitigen Halbprofilausformungen 28,29 der jeweils beiden benachbarten Platten 6,7 au9gebildet (Anspruch 12).9 embodies an inventive concept in which a plurality of channel-shaped deflection chambers which are fluidically separated from one another are arranged between two
Not further shown, the invention (claim 10) also includes the idea, e.g. to provide two channel-shaped deflection chambers which are fluidly separated from one another and e.g. to let two tubes of a row of
Depending on requirements, channel-shaped deflection chambers can also be partially provided in fluid communication with one another.
9 der Matrix 3 (Fig. 1).10 illustrates a hollow profile with a lenticular or lancet-shaped cross section, which can advantageously be used in the subject matter of the invention, that is to say an aerodynamically optimized profile which tapered towards the hot gas flow H on the upstream and downstream sides for the respective
- Due to the curve of the longitudinal axis that sweeps periodically to both sides, the lancet tube is given more degrees of freedom in order to react smoothly to displacements, ie with only minimal counterforce:
- - Disturbances in the longitudinal spacing of the pipe ends (e.g. due to thermal expansion of the pipe relative to the holding base, by displacing the holding bases relative to one another in the direction of the pipe axis) are absorbed and compensated for by bending the profiled pipe, and are predetermined by the shape of the curve. Depending on the dimension of the lateral projection of the curve, the transverse displacements of the profile tube under the effect of changes in length (e.g. as a result of thermal expansion) are orders of magnitude smaller than the corresponding transverse deflection of an initially straight-axis tube that bends sideways.
- - Transverse displacements of the pipe ends in the plane of the curve are compensated for by bending.
- - In the case of displacements perpendicular to this, the straight lancet tube would move around its transverse axis with the greatest resistance moment bent and develop correspondingly large reaction forces. In contrast to this, the profile tube equipped with the periodic curve of its longitudinal axis reacts in such a case with soft torsional deformations.
- - Due to the locally different conditions of heat transfer in the direction of the external flow along the lancet tube cross-section, higher material temperatures occur on the upstream side (leading edge) than on the outflow side. The resulting different thermal longitudinal expansion of the lancet tube would cause the profile tube to bend in the direction of the hotter side if its longitudinal axis were straight. This bending can assume considerable values and move the lancet tube out of its position in the flow field, so that losses in the effectiveness of the heat exchanger and possibly also increased pressure losses would have to be accepted.
In such a case, the lancet tube with its periodically changing curve shape is pushed far less from its position. The leading and trailing edges also experience different thermal longitudinal expansions; Following the law of the curve shape, however, they are homologous to one another in a distortion state that twists the lancet-shaped pipe cross sections. Only slight thermal stresses are built up so that the profile tube remains essentially in the plane of its curve and hardly bends in the direction of the higher temperature.
