Description

  • [0001]
This invention relates to a Device preventing the rotation of longitudinal advancing rods particularly for straightening and eventual bending machines.
  • [0002]
At the present state of the art it is well known straightening and/or stirrup machines, that bend and shear steel rods or in other solutions straighten and shear coil fed rod or wire automatically.
  • [0003]
In this prior art, straightening/bending machines, the second one e.g. called stirrups, works continuous feeding rods or bars or wire, by using straightening and roller advancing means, and bends and shears the advancig material into stirrups, (Italian Patent no. 1024224 in the name of Del Fabro). Other machines are realized not for bending the raw material but only for straightening and shearing into stock.
  • [0004]
It is well known that raw material continuous feeding rolling means particularly if the row material to be worked is hot milled rod, causes an-uncontrolled rotation for different reasons e.g.: - the anisotropy of the material, a section not perfectly round, superficial imperfections, residual stresses, etc.
  • [0005]
Consequantly twisted stirrups are the main disadvantage of automatic fed stirrup machines.
  • [0006]
Many efforts have been made to eliminate this drawbacks but not sufficiently positive.
  • [0007]
A preferred embodiment disclosed in the Italian Patent Application No.83472A/83 filed on October 12.1983, utilizes traction pliers means that hold the raw material in position so it does not twist.
  • [0008]
Other efforts have been made with straightening devices that have a series of rolls and counter rolls means, either loose or motorized (driven function), that oblige the raw material to advance in serpentine form, yielding it. These devices are still used but as a straightening means that eventually draws or advances the row material, but in any case they are unable to prevent the uncontrolled rod rotation, resulting e.g. in stirrup machines twisted stirrups obtained, damage being considerable for storage, shipping and concrete reinforcing structures assembling.
  • [0009]
It is accordingly an object of the present invention to overcome theese drawbacks and perform a better straightening. It solves the problem by means of a inclined continuous arm lever guide means, applied by deviating free rotating or driving roll means on the advancing material in order to deviate it at least of 10° from its previous trajectory or in respect to the rod pahway working line.
  • [0010]
Generally the limit of this deviation is not more than 90° because a higher limit causes deformation and more power for working, although smaller diameters (millimeter or less) also 180° can be used.
  • [0011]
The advantages offered by the invention are mainly that the rod is held in position contiuously by use of said inclined continuous guide arm lever. This solution can be realized in a new performance of well known roller straightening means this ones being placed in vertical and/or horizontal working plane.
  • [0012]
In the preferred embodiment the device consists of:
    • - on a first working plane a first group of advancing rod deviating means realizing a pathway deviation angle, by two guide opposed rolls straightening guide means realizing said inclined arm guide lever, placed along a triangle sides of the deviated pathway between the respective deviation angles, being downwards from the second inclined roller straightening guide means, placed reangleing means to realign the advancing rod on the advancing working line parallel to said plane;
    • - on a second working plane parallel to said advancing and working pathway line, orthogonal and downwards placed from the first: a further first inclined roller straightening guide means, between two respective deviating angles, is placed and downwards from this one, a rod roller reangleing means to realign the advancing rod on the advancing working line parallel to said plane, are further placed.
  • [0013]
With this solution uncontrolled flection is prevented to the advancing rod in said deviated pathway sides, being "continuously held" by said roller straightening guide means, obtaining the further advantage to oblige the advancing rod to rudely deviate in said deviating angles with a courbing radius almost equal to the diameter of the corrisponding deviating roll,to increase the effect of the respective continuous arm guide lever.
  • [0014]
In the preferred embodiment between the first two inclined rod roller straightening guide means a rod roller advancing means is placede, and further downwards from said final realignment means, a rod adjustable opposed rolls guide means is utilized to realign the rod in its said working pathway line.
  • [0015]
Conveniently said first inclined rod roller straightening guide means is adjustable in the respective inclination.
  • [0016]
With this solution is possible to adjust the "hold" of this "rod continuous arm lever", increasing or decreasing it according to the characteristics of the rod.
  • [0017]
In a further embodiment upper rolls of each roller straightening guide means, is adjustable in pressure.
  • [0018]
With this solution is possible to vary the pressure effect on the rod and adjust the device to the diameter of the rod.
  • [0019]
In a further embodiment, the opposed rollers in said deviating angles are "V" guttered.
  • [0020]
With this solution the rod is "held" in lateral deviations, and can work a different rod diameters.
  • [0021]
In a further embodiment said realigning means have a pair of apex inside anvil rolls and an opposite adjustable pressure roll means, to allow adjustability of the straightening on the rod for realignment.
  • [0022]
Some ways of carrying out the invention are described in detail below with reference to drawings which illustrate some specific embodiments.
  • [0023]
Figure 1 is a schematic view of the traditional stirrup operanting devices; Figure 2 is a side view of the twisting of a traditional stirrup; Figure 3 is a perspective view of a twisted stirrup; Figure 4 is a well known curved deformation (in exaggerated continuous bending) of the raw material/rod/wire in drawing condition; Figure 5 is an orthogonal view of the rod between two rolls to show one of the causes of its rotation during advancing; Figure 6 is the continuous arm lever applied on the advancing rod; Figure 7-10 are various other solutions; Figure 11 is a schematic perspective view of the device that can be placed between the uncoiler and a stirrup or straightening devices (not shown); Fig. 12 is a transversal schematic section of an advancing rod corrisponding to one of the two opposite guttered roller guide means.
  • [0024]
Figure 1 shows that a stirrup machine generally consists of: a rod coil feeder (A), a horizontal rolling straighter unit, one in horizontal plane and the other in vertical plane (B'); a pair of roll advancing means (C), a shear means (D); a bending means (E) with guiding fork (f) and bending nib (n) that rotates to bend the rod (b) into a stirrup (s).
  • [0025]
As represented in Figure 2 and 3, the prior art obtained stirrup is twisted and the advancing or straightening roll means cannot hold it because the rod is out of round and thrusted by the respective opposed rolls (r) which tend to rotate towards the thrust (Fig.5). Uncontrollable rotation of the advancing bar is verified also in the use of large advancing rolls (r) with off center counter rolls (r) that give a curve to the advancing rod (ex.smaller ones (r') to realize e serpentine path, resulting in a twisted stirrup (s).
  • [0026]
The invention realizes a deviating roll means (R) with an inclined continuous arm guide lever (L) utilizing at least one deviation roll (1), being the continuous arm lever (p) placed upwards or downwards of said deviating roll (1) on the advancing rod (b). This solution to utilize an inclined contiuous arm guide lever means have the scope to increase the length of the respective arm lever (L) as represented in Fig. 6. The angle of deviation (i) of the rod (b) can be realized between 10° and 90°. To maintain the same direction of the advancing rod (b), two deviation rolls (1) may be used as in Fig. 7 and with auxiliary use of counter rolls (I'), more deviation rolls can be used (1) and respective counter rolls (1') as indicated in Fig. 8-10.
  • [0027]
The advancing rod can be deviated to "Z" shape (Fig. 7,8), or loops or others combined shapes.
  • [0028]
Deviation devices for each angle deviation (R,R') form individual deviation units (F) for the advancing rod.
  • [0029]
Less preferably, in working line straightening devices (B,B') can be placed upwards and downwards of the deviation units (F) as represented in Fig. 8.
  • [0030]
To prevent curving effect from the respective deviation devices (R), downwards of the deviation device (R) is utilied at least one straighting roll adjustable in position (2) in order to "straighten" the rod.
  • [0031]
In the preferred embodiment deviation units works in couples (F), one horizontal(F) and one vertical (F') as represented in Fig. 10.
  • [0032]
Between the one deviation device (R) and the other a guide bar unit (3) is placed in order to avoid flection of the advancing bar (b), reinforcing the adjacent contiuous arm lever (L).
  • [0033]
The first deviation device (R') is movable as represented in Fig 10 to vary the angle of deviation, depending from the left or right coil developping and in compliance to the utilization of one or two rods.
  • [0034]
In the preferred embodiment as represented in Fig.11, the device of this invention comprises:
    • - on a first working plane (A) a first group of advancing rod deviating means realizing a pathway deviation angle, preferably comprised between 10° and 90°, by two guide opposed rolls (2,3) straightening guide means realizing said arm levers (c,c'), placed along the respective triangle sides between the deviation angles, being in the apex between the said roller straightening guide means (c,c'), placed a roll advancing means (d) to advance the rod and, downwards from the second roller straightening guide means (c'), placed reangleing means (e), to realign the advancing rod on the advancing working line parallel to said plane;
    • - on a second working plane (B) parallel to said advancing and working pathway line, orthogonal and downwards placed from the first (A): a first roller straightening guide means (c") is placed between two respective deviation angles, inclined in respect to said rod pathway working line and downwards from this one, a reangleing means (e') to realign the advancing rod on the advancing working line parallel to said plane, are further placed; Downwards from said final realignment means, a rod adjustable opposed rolls guide means is utilized to realign the rod in its said working pathway line (f).
  • [0035]
The first working plane (A) is horizontal or aprox horizontal and the second (B) is vertical or aprox vertical.
  • [0036]
The first roller straightening guide means (c) place between the deviating angles, is adjustable in its inclination to vary the rod deviation angle up to 90°.
  • [0037]
The series of upper rolls (3) of each roller straightening guide means (c,c',c"), inclined on the side between the deviating angles are adjustable in pressure by manually controlled means (4), against the opposing rolls (2), being staggered not aligned.
  • [0038]
The opposing rolls (2,3) of said roller straightening guide means (c,c',c") and eventually the opposed rollers of said realigning and guide means (e,e',f) have a containement gutter of the advancing rod (1).
  • [0039]
Said containment gutters of said rolls are in a "V" with angle conceived in order to allow the working of a range of rod diameters (1).
  • [0040]
The advancing means (d) is realized by a single pair of opposed rolls (5,6) being at least one (6) adjustable in pressure against the opposed one (5).
  • [0041]
Two couples of advancing rolls can be provided in order to apply less pressure on"the rod.
  • [0042]
Said rod roller reangling means (e,e') comprise a couple of inside apex angle anvil rolls (8,8') and an adjustable opposed pressure roll (7).
  • [0043]
One of the rolls of said anvil rolls (8') is enclosed in the respective upward roller inclined straightening guide means (c'.c").
