Abstract

A transmission cable is formed of one or more concentric layers (16, 26) of individual conductors. Each layer is surrounded by an electrically conducting member (18, 28). Alternate conduc­ tors in each layer are signal carrying conductors (5) while the other conductors (X) in a layer are either all ground, signal return or signal conductors. The conducting members (18, 28) are electrically connectable to a ground potential to form a grounded structure in which each signal carrying conductor is at least partially electrically shielded along its entire axial length.
