Abstract

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf die Verwendung eines kaltzähen ferritischen Stahles mit niedrigen C-Gehalten im Bereich 0,015-0,08%, der legiert ist mit ca. 5,5% Ni, 0,2% V, 0,02-0,03% N sowie gegebenenfalls 0,5-1,5% Cu, der mit dieser Zusammensetzung in herkömmlicher Weise er­ schmolzen, abgegossen, zur Erstarrung gebracht, warmge­ walzt und auf Raumtemperatur abgekühlt wird. Er wird dann einer einmaligen Normalglühung unter Umkristallisation, ggf. mit beschleunigter Abkühlung unterzogen. Durch das Zusammenwirken von Analyse und Glühbehandlung erhält der Stahl seine besonderen Eigenschaften, wie gute Schweißbarkeit, verbesserte Kaltzähigkeit bei hoher Festig­ keit und ist dann für die Herstellung von Bauteilen der Kältetechnik in Bereichen unter - 100°C einsetzbar.
Besonders vorteilhaft verwendbar ist dieser Stahl für Behälter für den Transport und die Lagerung von verflüssig­ tem Erdgas (LNG) bis zu - 165°C und darüber hinaus bis zu Temperaturen von ca. - 200 °C, einem Temperaturbe­ reich, der bisher nur durch sehr aufwendige Stähle abge­ deckt wird.
