Claims (8)

1. Sheet-fed rotary printing machine having printing units (10, 17) arranged in tandem for processing both paper as well as cardboard with straight multicolor printing or printing/perfecting and including at least one turning device. each of the printing units consisting, in addition to a plate cylinder (11) and a blanket cylinder (12), of an impression cylinder (2. 13) and of a transfer drum (5, 19), each having double the diameter of the respective plate and blanket cylinders, characterized in that between two printing units (1 and 10) there is provided a simple base frame (6) merely for carrying a transfer drum (5) and a storage drum (7), each having a diameter double that of the respective plate and blanket cylinders. that in the printing unit (10) following the base frame (6) there ist provided, instead of a transfer drum. a turning cylinder (14) with rows of pincer grippers (15) offset 180° from one another so that the base frame (6) and the following printing unit (10) together constitute a turning device. that the impression cylinder (13) cooperating with the turning cylinder (14) is equipped with hook grippers (8) for taking over a sheet (3) from the pincer grippers (15). and that the impression and turning cylinders (2. 13. 14) and the transfer and storage drums (5, 7 and 19) conveying the sheet (3) with the printed surface facing inwardly provisions are made for a smudge-free transport of the sheets (3).

4. Sheet-fed rotary printing machine according to Claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the sheet-guiding surfaces of the transfer drums (5 and 19) and of the turning cylinder (14) are provided with rods and bearing elements, e.g. small rolls.
5. Sheet-fed rotary printing machine according to Claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the transfer drums (5 and 19) and the turning cylinder (14) do not feature any sheet-supporting and sheet-guiding elements.
6. Sheet-fed rotary printing machine according to Claims 1 through 3, characterized in that transfer drums (5 and 19) and turning cylinder (14) are provided with removable shells (16) forming sheet-guiding surfaces.
7. Sheet-fed rotary printing machine according to one or more of Claims 1 through 6, characterized in that each printing unit (1, 17 and 18), except the printing unit (10) including the turning device. is provided with a transfer drum (19) having a diameter triple that of the plate and blanket cvlinders.
