Description

The invention relates to a method for producing the needle guide of a needle print head according to the preamble of claim 1 and to a needle guide manufactured according to this method according to the preamble of claim 4.

In their simplest configuration, needle print heads are provided with a single vertical row of needles; the expression "vertical" here refers to a direction lying at right angles to the line direction in the writing plane. The needle print head moves column by column, with certain needles being actuated in each column. As is generally known, each character to be printed is composed of the print patterns of several columns. In order to increase the writing speed, it is also known to use several groups of needles. For example, when using two rows of needles arranged side by side in the row direction, the first and third write columns can be written simultaneously in a first print head position, the second and fourth write column in a second print head position, etc. (DE-OS 26 32 293). The needle guide has a separate guide plate for each group of needles; This arrangement made it - light to enable one of the two rows of needles relative to the other by a half needle pitch vertically, so that the writing spots of a row of needles may be respectively set between the write points of the other row of needles with a corresponding switching operation of the print head in the row direction, in order in this Way to improve the quality of the printed characters.

Very high demands are placed on the accuracy of the needle guides. The mutual position of the needle groups in the writing plane must be observed very precisely so that a clean typeface is guaranteed. Also, the guide plates must not be mutually offset perpendicular to their plane. In the known construction, the two guide plates are manufactured separately and mounted on the print head. One guide plate is connected directly to the printhead, while the other is mounted on the printhead via a movable holder. This results in a considerable assembly and adjustment effort to ensure the mutual exact position of the two guide plates to each other.

It is an object of the invention to provide a method for producing the needle guide of a needle print head according to the preamble of claim 1, in which the greatest possible accuracy in the mutual arrangement of the guide plates can be achieved with little assembly and adjustment effort.

This object is achieved by the features listed in the characterizing part of claim 1. A complete plate comprising all guide plates is first provided with the hole patterns of the guide plates in their exact mutual normal arrangement. Then the entire perforated plate is connected to the needle printhead, the exact. Alignment of the individual guide plates to each other is not lost. Only then is the entire plate divided to form the individual guide plates.

If at least one or more of the leaders plates are not directly, but are mounted on a movable holder on the needle printhead, it is provided that each of the movable holders for mounting the entire plate is aligned and fixed in an assembly position, which ensures the exact alignment of the individual guide plates to each other after the division of the entire plate.

In order to keep the processing effort after assembling the entire plate as low as possible, in one embodiment of the method according to the invention it is provided that the entire plate is pre-perforated along its dividing lines before it is connected to the dot-matrix print head, so that, for example, only individual thin connecting webs have to be severed.

“Normal arrangement” is understood to mean the arrangement of the guide plates with respect to one another which they assume in normal writing operation, that is to say when there is no offset in the case of guide plates which are arranged to be movable relative to one another.

In the known construction, one of the guide plates is supported in a vertically movable manner by means of a parallelogram handlebar formed from resilient arms. The resilient arms are arranged in a plane lying essentially parallel to the writing plane. Since the ends of these arms in the vertical adjustment of the guide plate on circular arcs about the clamped ends of these Arme_bewegen, each vertical movement of the guide plate also has a distance change of this guide plate of the fixed guide plate for a row. Since the step size of the print head in the row direction corresponds, for example, exactly to the distance between the two rows of needles in the normal arrangement of the guide plates, the writing points become the two needle groups are not exactly in line with a staggered arrangement, so that the typeface becomes dirty.

In order not to lose at a Nadelführung.gemäß the preamble of claim 4, the accuracy achieved by the inventive method in the mutual arrangement of the guide plates also with a mutual offset, according to an aspect of the invention provides that the arms of the holding g portable respectively in are arranged approximately perpendicular to the plane of the guide plate. As a result, the movable guide plate only executes the desired offset movement in its plane, so that, for example, in the case of guide plates which can be displaced vertically with respect to one another, the lateral spacing thereof and thus the pressure needle guided through it are exactly maintained.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, two guide plates, which are arranged next to one another in the printing line direction and are each fastened to a holding fork, are provided, which can be adjusted in the opposite direction to one another in the printing column direction. This ensures that the inevitable misalignment perpendicular to the guide plate plane is kept small when using holding forks perpendicular to the guide plate plane, and that it occurs simultaneously in both guide plates and in the same direction, so that both guide plates are always in the same plane.

In a further embodiment of the invention it is provided that the two holding forks are formed by a single resilient, fork-shaped bracket with bracket legs slotted in the longitudinal direction. This will next to achieved a simple structure that the two holding forks are exactly aligned with each other and have the same elastic movement properties, which is essential for the alignment of the printing needles and thus ultimately for the quality of the typeface.

The guide plates are preferably connected to the arms by welding. However, any other suitable connection method, for example gluing, can also be considered. Different, respectively suitable materials can be selected for the guide plates on the one hand and the holding forks on the other hand, the guide plates preferably being made of a hard, abrasion-resistant material, the holding forks made of a material with the desired elastic properties.

An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing and described in more detail below. Show it:
  • Figure 1 is a partial view of a wire print head with two guide plates arranged side by side;
  • Figure 2 two guide plates combined into a double plate before their assembly;
  • Figure 3 shows a bracket in an auxiliary device for aligning and fixing the bracket;

The needle printhead 2 shown in FIG. 1 comprises a printhead housing 4, in which the drives for the printing needles, which are not shown here, are accommodated, and a needle guide 6 for guiding the needles 8. The needle guide 6 in turn consists of two holding forks 10, 12, which each hold a guide plate 14, 16. The guide plates 14, 16 are provided with rows of holes 18, 20 which allow the needles 8 to pass through. An actuating drive 22 acts on the guide plate 14 and moves it upwards in the direction of the arrow 24. An actuator 26 engages on the guide plate 16, by means of which this guide plate can be moved downward in the direction of the arrow 28. The total mutual vertical displacement corresponds to half the vertical distance between two holes.

As can be seen from FIG. 1, the two holding forks 10, 12 are formed from a single fork-shaped bracket 30, the two bracket legs of which are slotted in the longitudinal direction.

The guide plates 14, 16 are connected to the arms of the holding forks 10, 12 by welding.

Fig. 2 shows an overall plate 32 formed from two adjacent, contiguous guide plates 14 ', 16'. It is provided with two rows of holes 18 ', 20', the mutual arrangement of which is exactly the arrangement shown in Fig. 1, that is, without a vertical offset Guide plates. The entire plate 32 is connected as a whole to the holding forks 10, 12. The entire plate is then divided along the dividing lines denoted by 34, the exact alignment of the two guide plates 14 ', 16' not lost to each other.

The auxiliary device ensures an exact alignment of the holding forks 10, 12 and their fixing during the assembly of the entire plate 32.

Fig. 4 shows schematically a needle print head 2 corresponding to Fig. 1. It can be seen that with a deflection e.g. the guide plate 14 is connected at the same time an offset to the rear by the amount s, since the arms of the holding fork 10 move on an arc 36 around the clamped end 38. Since the holding fork is constructed approximately in the manner of a parallelogram handlebar, the guide plate 14 remains parallel to itself. Since a simultaneous downward movement of the guide plate 16 takes place by the same amount with the upward movement of the guide plate 14, the same offset s results to the rear for both guide plates, so that their mutual alignment perpendicular to their planes is maintained.
