Abstract

An apparatus for shrinking and finishing textile webs contains in a housing (1) three superposed endless conveyor belts (3.1, 3.2, 3.3), on which lies a premoistened web (6) as it travels through the treatment stations. An entry conveyor belt (11) forwards the web (6) to the first conveyor belt (3.1), where it is heated with the aid of a high-frequency heating means (7). A transfer belt (10) forwards the hot, still moist web (6) without tension to the second conveyor belt (3.2), where it is dried by the air jets emerging from the air nozzles (8). On the lowest conveyor belt (3.3) the web (6) is also dried from the back. Each conveyor belt (3.1, 3.2, 3.3) has an associated vibration generator (4.1, 4.2, 4.3) which sets the high-tension fabric belt in vibration. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a device for shrinking and finishing textile webs, comprising at least one endless conveyor belt on which the moist pretreated web is loosely guided through the treatment stations, a heating device and a mechanical vibration generator.

From DE-PS 966 141 a method and a device for shrinking textile material using vibrating movements during drying is known. For this purpose, the web is passed flat between two grating surfaces, the upper grating surface being set into vertical vibrations by an attached vibrating device. At the same time, the web is blown from below by an even air flow and kept in suspension. The material web remains in its flat, stretched state during the jogging movement and is not compressed or stretched in the material web level.

From DE-OS 16 35 210 is a method and a device for the continuous relaxation of knitted and warp knitted fabrics in webs is known, the web being gathered down on conveyor belts. The goods move themselves when they fall from a conveyor belt onto the next one below. The number and the relatively short design of the conveyor belts cause a warping rather than a shrinking of the goods, in particular due to the self-stretching of the goods on the way to the last conveyor belt. A mechanical vibration device is provided under the last conveyor belt, which sets the material web lying on the belt in high-frequency vibrations with a low lifting height. However, the arrangement of a vibration device on the last conveyor belt has no great effect, since at this point the goods have practically reached their final state.

It is of decisive influence on an optimal shrinkage that the fibers of the material web are swollen optimally before the treatment begins. For this reason, they are pretreated with wetting agents and heat, for example at temperatures of 70 to 80 ° C, if possible higher. The resulting high water absorption, on the other hand, contradicts the demand for a quick, energy-saving and cost-saving drying process.

It is also known that the action of mechanical compressive and tensile stresses on the pretreated web during the drying process loosens and reduces the tensions introduced into the web by the weaving or knitting process. It is therefore known to wet the web of material on conveyor belts made of felt or rubber transport, whereby these tapes are vibrated. Experience shows, however, that the voltage reduction caused by this is not sufficient.

It is also known that textile webs can be dried in a wide variety of ways. Since the heating of the textile goods with infrared or dry air is generally ruled out due to the fear of damage, heating with moist air or also with high-frequency electromagnetic radiation has proven itself. High-frequency drying is particularly recommended if very low residual moisture levels are to be achieved. It turns out, however, that the theoretically existing possibility of drying very quickly is limited in practice by the fact that the moisture stored in the textile fibers can diffuse out of the fiber only relatively slowly and that a kind of moisture-saturated vapor cushion surrounds the web forms, which slows down the diffusion.

The present invention has for its object to further develop a device of the type mentioned in such a way that an optimal drying, shrinking and finishing effect is achieved despite minimal energy and cost.

This object is achieved in that the conveyor belt is a steel-hard stretched fabric belt which is vibrated by the vibration generator, that the heating device is a high-frequency dryer and that a number of air nozzles are provided, the air jet of which is directed onto the material web and which are arranged behind the high-frequency dryer.

This results in the advantages that, due to the high-frequency electromagnetic radiation, the water contained in the fibers is boiled, as a result, whereby a further improved swelling, possibly even without a wetting agent, is achieved. Due to the simultaneous application of mechanical vibration to the web, the bond between the woven or knitted fibers is loosened and the tension introduced into the web can be reduced. The combination of the fibers generated by the swelling of the fibers with the forces introduced by the vibration results in mutual reinforcement, so that, depending on the type of fibers, it is also possible to reduce those tensions which were previously very difficult to solve.

As has been shown, the conveyor belt is of crucial importance: here the web has to hit extremely hard. The band must therefore be stretched very tight. In addition to steel, Keflar is the preferred material. The air jet emerging from the air nozzles and impinging on the material web not only removes the vapor cushion forming around the material web, but at the same time transports away some of the moisture stored between the fibers. Furthermore, the air jets, which are correspondingly powerful, press the web onto the conveyor belt, which causes an intensive transmission of the vibrations.

Through the interaction of the described treatment measures or stations, which are known per se, an optimally shrunk and finished web of material can be removed at the outlet of the device.

According to an advantageous further development, the high-frequency dryer is constructed from garland field electrodes.

In order to be able to achieve a compact construction of the entire device, a plurality of endless conveyor belts can preferably be arranged one above the other in tiers. In order to prevent the material web from being subjected to tensile stresses due to its own weight during the transition from one conveyor belt to the other, so-called transfer belts are advantageously provided which guide the material web between the floors. Furthermore, in this embodiment, both surfaces of the web are successively exposed to the air jets and dried.

  • Fig. 1 eine schematische Darstellung in Seitenansicht und
Further refinements of the invention and their advantages result from the following description of an exemplary embodiment with reference to the drawing. Show it
  • Fig. 1 is a schematic representation in side view
  • FIG. 2 shows an enlarged detail from the device of FIG. 1.

The device has an approximately cuboid housing 1 in which three endless conveyor belts 3.1, 3.2, 3.3 are tensioned and guided one above the other over drive and deflecting rollers 2.1, 2.2, 2.3. The conveyor belts 3 consist of a steel mesh belt. A mechanical vibration device 4.1, 4.2, 4.3 is provided on the underside of the respective leading run of the conveyor belts 3. As shown in FIG. 2 in an enlarged view, this mechanical vibration device consists of one or several revolving shafts 4, on the circumference of which blow bars 5 are arranged. These blow bars 5 hit the underside of the conveyor belts 3 and bring them into violent vibrations when correctly adjusted.

The material web 6 to be treated lies loosely, for example in a loop, on the top of the conveyor belts 3 and is thus guided through all processing stations.

In order to be able to supply the web 6 with the heat required for the optimal swelling of the fibers or the drying process, there is a high-frequency dryer 7 above the top conveyor belt 3.1, which is constructed here from garland field electrodes. In this first treatment zone, the swelling process of the fibers comes first. Drying is of minor importance here.

Dazu kommt das Wenden der Warenbahn 6 beim Übergang vom zweiten 3.2 zum dritten Band 3.3.Effective drying takes place on the second and third conveyor belts. The goods are pressed onto the belt 3 by air jets 9 from air nozzles 8, the goods being vibrated at the same time by the vibration device 4, whereby they relax. The drying process is significantly accelerated by the high temperature after the high-frequency heating. In addition, there is the turning of the web 6 at the transition from the second 3.2 to the third volume 3.3.

The material web 6 is fed to the device via an input conveyor belt 11 and taken over by an output conveyor belt 12 at the output of the machine. So-called transfer belts 10 are provided between the individual floors seen that take up the web 6 running from the upper conveyor belts 3.1, 3.2 and lead to the floor 3.2, 3.3 below, without tensile stresses being introduced into the web due to their own weight. These transfer belts 10 bring a decisive effect in the shrink-free equipment, since hot goods are irreversibly warped at the slightest pull.
