Definitions
- the present invention relates to a method and a device for the intermediate storage of printed products resulting in scale formation according to the preamble of claim or claim 5.
- the present invention is based on the object of providing a method and a device of the type mentioned at the outset which, with simple means and with less stress on the winding and winding device, permits the formation of a fixed winding.
- the resulting scale formation is divided into two sub-formations, which after changing the position of the printed products in one of the two sub-formations and then wound up together, ensures that the winding speed, i.e. the circumferential speed of the roll is only half as large as the speed of movement of the resulting scale formation.
- the change in the position of the printed products in the outer i.e. In the lower of the two superposed partial formations it is made possible that each winding layer formed from the two superposed partial formations can be rotated further in the direction of rotation of the winding relative to the next outer winding layer. This makes it possible to continue turning the winding from the inside - similar to a clock spring - and thus to consolidate the winding.
- those printed products that are used for Partial formation in which a change in the position of the printed products takes place, at least two branch streams are formed, the change in position being carried out with the printed products of each of the branch streams.
- these branch flows are then combined again into a single sub-formation, which is brought together with the other sub-formation.
- This division into branch streams makes it possible to carry out the change in position of the printed products at a speed which is considerably lower than the feed rate of the resulting scale formation, ie four times slower.
- Printed products 1 are fed from a source, not shown in detail, for example from the delivery of a rotary printing press, by means of a conveyor 2, which is only shown schematically in the figures.
- This transporter 2 is of a known type and is described in more detail, for example, in DE-OS 25 19 561 and the corresponding US Pat. No. 3,955,667.
- the conveyor 2 has, seen in its conveying direction A, grippers 3 arranged one behind the other, which can be triggered individually to open them. These grippers 3 hold the printed products 1 at their leading edge la, which is usually the folded edge.
- the trailing edge of the printed products 1 lying opposite this edge la, which is gripped by the grippers 3, is denoted by lb.
- the first conveying device 4 is controlled in such a way that it triggers only every second gripper and leaves the other grippers labeled 3 ′ unaffected.
- a belt conveyor 5 and 6 is arranged below the conveyor 2 and in the region of each opening device 4, 4 ', the conveying direction B and C of which corresponds to the conveying direction A of the conveyor 2.
- the belt conveyor 5 assigned below the front opening device 4 is followed by a deflection device 7 which has a deflection drum 8 which can be rotated in the direction of arrow D about its axis 8a which is perpendicular to the conveying direction B of the belt conveyor 5.
- This deflection drum 8 is driven by at least one drive belt 9 in a manner not shown.
- Along one part of the circumference of the deflection drum 8 runs one strand of an endless support belt 10 which is guided over deflection rollers and driven in the direction of arrow E in a manner not shown in detail.
- a conveyor gap 11 is formed between the deflection drum 8 and a strand of the support belt 10.
- a guide element 12 connects to this delivery gap 11 for the printed products 1 leaving the delivery gap 11 in the direction of arrow F.
- a fixed stop 13 is arranged in continuation of the movement path of the printed products 1 emerging from the conveying gap 12 which is determined by this guide element 12.
- a belt conveyor 14 is provided below the deflection device 7 and the stop 13, a belt conveyor 14 is provided, the conveying direction B of which is opposite to the direction of movement F of the printed products 1 emerging from the deflection device 7.
- Another belt conveyor 15 with the same direction of conveyance H is connected to this belt conveyor 14.
- This belt conveyor 15 is followed by a conveyor device 16, the conveying direction I of which corresponds to the conveying direction H of the belt conveyor 15.
- This conveyor 16 is designed as a rocker that can be pivoted about the axis 16a and is provided with a conveyor belt or a plurality of conveyor belts arranged next to one another.
- a pressure mechanism acts on this rocker 16, as is explained in more detail in the aforementioned DE-OS 31 23 888.
- This winding and storage unit 17 has a mobile frame 18 in the form of a bearing block.
- the shaft 19 of a cylindrical winding core 20 is rotatably mounted in the frame.
- This shaft 19 or the winding core 20 is driven in the direction of arrow K in a manner not shown, but described in the aforementioned DE-OS 31 23 888.
- a supply spool (not shown in FIG. 2) for a winding tape, which is connected to the winding core 20 and can be placed under tension by means of a suitable device, such as that in DE-OS 32 36 866, to which reference has already been made has been explained in more detail.
- the partial scale formation S 2 formed on the belt conveyor 6 is also fed to the conveyor device by means of the conveyor device 21.
- the sub-formation S 2 is now placed on the sub-formation S 1 'brought in by the conveying device 16.
- the sub-formations S 1 'and S 2 are placed on top of one another in such a way that they are laterally offset, that is to say that each sub-formation S 1 ' and S 2 projects laterally with an edge region beyond the other sub-formation.
- the stress on the winding 22 and also on the winding and storage unit 17 is lower than would be the case if the resulting scale formation S were wound directly. Since the leading edge lb (formation S ') and / or. la (formation S) on the side of the corresponding sub-formation S 1 ', S 2 facing the winding core 20 or the winding 22, it is now possible for each winding layer, which is formed by the double scale formation S, to be formed during the winding-up process can rotate relative to the next outer winding position without mutual blocking in the direction of rotation H of the winding. This freedom of a relative rotation between adjacent winding layers makes it possible to wind the winding 22 from the inside in the manner of a clock spring and thus to consolidate the winding 22. For this reason, the correct feeding of the printed products 1 is important.
- changing the position of the printed products 1 of the first sub-formation S 1 serves another purpose.
- unwinding the scale formation S 3 because of the special, previously described position of the printed products 1 inside the partial formation S 1 'can be obtained with simple means, that is to say by simply turning this partial formation S 1 ', a scale formation in which the printed products 1 assume the same position as in the original scale formation S.
- Such a turning of the partial formation S 1 'can be carried out after Separation from the other sub-formation S 2 can be achieved, for example, by means of a deflection device which is traversed by the sub-formation S 1 'and which corresponds in structure to the deflection device 7, with the exception that when passing through this deflection device, the printed products are no longer separated.
- the other sub-formation S 2 can, after separation from the sub-formation S 1 ', be wound up, for example, to form an intermediate roll, as is described in more detail, for example, in DE-OS 32 44 663 and the corresponding GB-OS 2 112 758.
- the printed products 1 then also assume the same position as in the original shingled stream S.
- the device shown in FIG. 3 corresponds to the device shown in FIG. 1 with the exception of the design of the deflection device 7. Corresponding parts are accordingly designated by the same reference numerals in FIGS. 1 and 3.
- the acceleration, ie separation of the printed products does not take place in the course of passing through the conveying gap 11 but before they enter this conveying gap 11.
- an accelerating device 23 is provided, which consists of at least one pair of acceleration rollers 24 and 25, which is in a manner not shown at a speed are driven, which is greater than the conveying speed of the belt conveyor 5.
- the printed product detected by the acceleration rollers 24, 25 is brought to a higher speed and thereby pulled out from under the subsequent printed product and conveyed against the conveying gap 11.
- the deflection drum 8 is provided with stop elements 26 projecting from its circumference, against which the printed products 1 are conveyed.
- the distance between successive stop elements measured in the circumferential direction of the deflection drum 8 is somewhat larger than the distance between the edges 1 a and 1 b of the printed products 1.
- the position of the front edge 1 a of the printed products 1 is precisely defined by conveying the printed products until they stop against the stop elements 26 . This means that a regular scale spacing a occurs in the scale formation S 'formed on the belt conveyor 4.
- the stop members 27 also serve to prevent the printed product leaving the conveying gap 11 from colliding with the immediately preceding printed product 1, in that each stop element 26 with its leading surface 26a is the previous printed product 1, which is in the process of being struck at the stop 13 to lay down on the belt conveyor 14, to move downward and out of the movement path of the printed product leaving the deflection direction 7.
- two deflection devices 7, 7 ' are now provided, which are arranged one behind the other in the conveying direction A of the conveyor 2 and both in terms of structure and function of the deflection device 7 correspond to FIG. 1.
- Another belt conveyor 5 ' is arranged between the belt conveyor 5 and the belt conveyor 6 and leads to the second deflection device 7'.
- a further opening device 4a is provided above this second belt conveyor 5 '.
- the belt conveyor 14 arranged below the deflection devices 7 and 7 1 connects the two deflection devices 7, 7 'and is provided with projecting and revolving stop members 27.
- stop members 27 take the place of the fixed stop 13 and thus serve, on the one hand, to form a stop for the printed products 1 leaving the conveying gap 11 or 11 'and also to take these printed products with them.
- the distance between successive stop elements 27 and the conveying speed of the belt conveyor 14 are so matched to the speed of movement of the printed products 1 emerging from the conveying gap 11, 11 'that in the area of the front deflecting device 7 only every second stop element 27 interacts with a printed product 1 , while the remaining stop members are intended to serve as a stop and driver for the printed products leaving the deflection device 7 '.
- a lifting element 28 which is only shown schematically, is present in front of the deflection device 7 ', which forms an opening 29 by lifting each printed product 1 from the previous printed product is determined, into which the printed products emerging from the conveyor gap 11 'are inserted.
- the opening devices 4 and 4a which are used to remove those printed products 1 from the resulting scale formation S, which serve the partial formation S 1 or S 1 ', are controlled in such a way that only every fourth gripper 3 is opened by the first and foremost opening device 4.
- the next opening device 4a also only opens every fourth gripper, but offset by two grippers with respect to the foremost opening device 4.
- the rearmost opening device 4 ' also causes the grippers 3''not previously triggered to open.
- the two branch flows S 1a 'and 1b are combined again to form a single scale flow S 1 ', which corresponds to the partial formation S 1 'according to FIGS. 1-3.
- This sub-formation S 1 ' is in the manner described with the other part formation S 2 merged and wound up.
- deflection devices 7, 7 ' which corresponds to the deflection device 7 according to FIG. 1
- deflection devices 7, 7' can also be used which correspond in their construction and the mode of operation of the deflection device 7 according to FIG. 3.
- winding core 20 it is further conceivable for the winding core 20 to be supported removably in a fixed position instead of being stored in a mobile frame 18.
- the acceleration or separation of the printed products 1 takes place before or during the passage through the deflection device 7, the Stop 13 or the stop members 27 are arranged at the outlet of the conveyor gap 11.
- a solution has the disadvantage of a greater construction effort compared to the embodiments shown.
Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a method and a device for the intermediate storage of printed products resulting in scale formation according to the preamble of claim or
It is known to wind up the printed products in scale formation on a winding core (DE-OS 31 23 888 and corresponding GB-
The present invention is based on the object of providing a method and a device of the type mentioned at the outset which, with simple means and with less stress on the winding and winding device, permits the formation of a fixed winding.
This object is achieved according to the invention by the features of the characterizing part of
The fact that the resulting scale formation is divided into two sub-formations, which after changing the position of the printed products in one of the two sub-formations and then wound up together, ensures that the winding speed, i.e. the circumferential speed of the roll is only half as large as the speed of movement of the resulting scale formation. The change in the position of the printed products in the outer, i.e. In the compact winding formed in this way, the tightly contracted and thus highly compressed winding layers of printed products lie on top of each other. The change in the position of the printed products in the one partial formation, which forms the prerequisite for the formation of a compact roll described above and also, in the case of late unwinding, also allows a scale formation in which the printed products have the same position as in the original scale formation to be obtained in a simple manner , can be carried out using structurally relatively simple means in a flawless and fault-prone manner.
Preferably, those printed products that are used for Partial formation, in which a change in the position of the printed products takes place, at least two branch streams are formed, the change in position being carried out with the printed products of each of the branch streams. After the position has changed, these branch flows are then combined again into a single sub-formation, which is brought together with the other sub-formation. This division into branch streams makes it possible to carry out the change in position of the printed products at a speed which is considerably lower than the feed rate of the resulting scale formation, ie four times slower.

Die letztgenannten Greifer 3' werden dann durch die hintere Oeffnungseinrichtung 4' zur Freigabe der Druckprodukte 1 geöffnet.1 and 2, the first embodiment of an inventive device for temporarily storing printed products will now be described. These Printed
Below the
A winding and closes the
- As already mentioned, the
grippers 3 of theconveyor 2 are opened alternately by theopening device 4 or the opening device 4 '. The printed products released when thegrippers 3, 3 'are opened are deposited on the 5 or 6, a scale formation S or S 2 again forming on thisbelt conveyor 5, 6. The printedbelt conveyor products 1 occupy the same position in these partial formations S 1 and S 2 as in the resulting shingled stream S, that is to say that in these partial formations S 1 , S 2 each printedproduct 1 also rests on the preceding printed product and the same edge la forms the leading edge as in the resulting shingled stream S. The shingled stream S forming on thefront belt conveyor 5 is now fed to thedeflection device 7. When the printedproducts 1 enter theconveyor gap 11, they are captured by thedeflection drum 8 or thedrive belt 9 and thesupport belt 10. Since thedeflection drum 8 and thesupport belt 10 are driven at a speed that is greater than the conveying speed of thebelt conveyor 5, the detectedprint products 1 are accelerated and isolated, that is, pulled out under the followingprint product 1. When passing through theconveyor gap 11, the printedproducts 1 are also turned. In the case of the printed products leaving the conveyinggap 11, the edge la still forms the leading edge, but theside 1 ′ of the printedproducts 1 lying on top in the shingled stream S is now located on the underside thereof. After striking thestop 13, the printedproducts 13 fall onto thebelt conveyor 14 or onto the previously stored printedproduct 1. A new scale formation S 1 'is formed on thisbelt conveyor 14, in which Probably the same as for the shingled formation S, each printed product rests on the preceding printed product, but in contrast to the shingled stream S, the side of the printedproducts 1 designated 1 ′ is at the bottom and the leading, upper edge lb is formed by the edge which is formed in the shingled stream S and also in trailing stream S 1 formed the trailing edge. This new scale formation S 1 'is fed to theconveyor 16 via thebelt conveyor 15.
At the same time, the partial scale formation S 2 formed on the
The formation S 3 formed by the merging of the partial formations S 1 ', S 2 on the conveying
However, changing the position of the printed
The device shown in FIG. 3 corresponds to the device shown in FIG. 1 with the exception of the design of the
In the embodiment shown in FIG. 4, in contrast to the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2, two
As a result of the described triggering of the
On the
Due to the fact that the change in position of the printed products belonging to the sub-formation S 1 'located below takes place in two stations I and II, this change in position can take place at a speed which is smaller, ie only half as large as in the embodiments according to FIGS. 3rd The printed
It is understood that the described devices can be designed in different parts differently than shown. Only a few of the different possible variants are listed below.
Instead of the
It is further conceivable for the winding
In all the embodiments shown, the acceleration or separation of the printed
