Abstract

An endless loop article of manufacture comprises a core consisting essentially of at least one skein and a protective covering consisting essentially of hose fabric loosely enclosing said core, and a warp threading and a weft threading which latter comprises at least one monofilament thread extending transverse to the central loop axis, and preferably a monofilament and a multifilament thread arranged to run side by side. The protective covering comprises an endless toroidal part and an internal annular selvedge flange extending radially inwardly from the latter. A strap can be formed from such article of manufacture so deformed that opposite segments of the internal selvedge flange are brought into contact and sewn together, e.g. with an auxiliary warp thread, or by superimposing a protective layer to which the segments are sewn. The protective covering of the article can further comprise an external circumferential selvedge flange projecting radially outwardly from the toroidal part. From this kind of straps a mat can be formed by conventional methods.

Description

The invention relates to a round sling or endless sling of the type which is characterized in more detail in the preamble of claim 1 and is basically known from DE-B-21 29 837 or CA-A-953 882.

A feature of such round slings is that the thread winding forming the core of the round sling only fills the cross-section of the protective tube to about 50-70% and is thus freely longitudinally and transversely movable in relation to the protective tube. The individual windings of the core are not fixed in relation to the protective tube and to each other. The individual windings of the thread winding can therefore move in relation to one another under load application and are given an equal length as a result of the load, so that an overload of an individual thread winding is avoided. The protective tube is manufactured as a tubular fabric. Technically, a tubular fabric is a two-layer fabric consisting of upper and lower fabrics, in which the mutual bond between the upper and lower fabrics is only present at the two marginal edges and the tube interior is thus formed between the two marginal edges. As a result, the protective tube has a pronounced band-like appearance after its manufacture.

The manufacturing process of a round sling manufactured according to DE-B-21 29 837 or CA-A-953 882 is described in more detail in EP-A-0032749. After making the round sling, i.e. after the thread wrap forming the round loop core has been introduced into the protective tube, the protective tube has a cross-sectional shape which is somewhat inflated in relation to the original band shape and can be referred to as a flat oval. The ends of the protective tube are inserted into one another and preferably sewn together. Even after that, the protective tube has a somewhat greater length over the entire circumference of the round sling than the core formed by the thread wrap and surrounded by it. The excess length of the protective tube relative to the core is intended to ensure that when the round sling is loaded, the load is only taken up by the core or thread winding, so that the protective tube is not subjected to tensile stress. In this way it is ensured that when the round sling is loaded, the protective tube is not subjected to tensile stress and consequently does not tear and thus can lose its protective and enveloping function with respect to the core. This over length causes in particular on the side of the round sling facing the load a slight drape of the protective tube, which affects the handling and further processing of the round sling and causes an increased wear attack in the area of the folds. The invention is therefore based on the object of improving a round sling of the type mentioned with regard to its manageability and wear behavior. This object is achieved by the characterizing features of claim 1.

The formation of the or a weft thread of the tubular fabric as a monofilament thread leads to a significant increase in the transverse stiffness of the tubular fabric. The monofilament weft thread has the effect of a textile wire reinforcement, which permanently seeks to remove the two edges of the tubular fabric from each other and to place the upper and lower fabric of the protective tube as closely as possible, including the thread wrap. This gives the round sling the appearance of a flat band even when it is not under load. This ensures that the thread wrap, ie the load-bearing core of the round sling, aligns itself flat in the protective tube and rests on the load and the load hook in the manner of a band. This reduces the tendency to form wrinkles, in particular on the surface of the protective tube facing the load, and consequently reduces the risk of wear.

Schließlich ist die geringere Schnittanfälligkeit eines monofilen Fadens gegenüber einem multifilen Faden für die Lebensdauer des Schutzschlauches von Vorteil.,Finally, the suppression of the folds on the protective hose of the round sling according to the invention also makes it easier to pull them out after the load has been set down, for example when it rests on a base. In conventional loops, the fold of the protective hose on the side facing away from the pulling side leads to the formation of wedges which make it difficult to remove the loop from the deposited load. Due to the design according to the invention, the protective hose snaps back into its broad, band-like initial shape in the unloaded state. The increased stiffness caused by the textile wire reinforcement makes it easier to push the round sling through under loads, for example. Finally, the lower susceptibility to cutting of a monofilament thread compared to a multifilament thread is advantageous for the service life of the protective tube.

Diese Verhäkelung erfolgt zweckmäßig nach in DE-PS 26 37 618 (US 42 02 381) (Müller) beschriebener Art.According to the teaching of claim 2, weft threads of the tubular fabric are not exclusively monofilament threads the used, but arranged side by side monofilament and multifilament threads. Monofilament threads have a very smooth surface. If the weft threads of the tubular fabric were formed exclusively by monofilament threads, then the warp threads would easily be able to be moved on the smooth weft threads, so that the tissue opens easily. This easy displaceability of the warp threads compared to monofilament weft threads is avoided by the additional introduction of a multifilament weft thread, which does not have this disadvantage of smooth walls and thus prevents the risk of the fabric being easily opened. Weaving the protective tube with a monofilament and a multifilament weft thread can be carried out simply by double weft insertion, as is possible with modern needle weaving machines. As monofilament weft threads, those made of polyester are particularly suitable because of their suitable elongation behavior. By crocheting the end connections of the weft threads in the area of one of the two marginal edges of the protective tube according to claims 5-7, it is avoided that the protective tube then tears open once it is injured in the area of its selvedge. This crochet is advantageously carried out according to the type described in DE-PS 26 37 618 (US 42 02 381) (Müller).

The use according to the invention of a monofilament weft thread for the production of the protective tube is of particular advantage in the case of round slings designed in the manner of EP-A-0032749, which leads to the round sling shape set out in the characterizing part of claim 8. Here, the inclination of the tubular fabric has a particularly advantageous effect of spreading apart due to the monofilament weft thread and the resulting textile wire reinforcement in the direction of the two marginal edges of the fabric, thereby laying flat and suppress the drapery. The characterizing feature of claim 9 shows a way in which a load on the protective tube with the result of any risk of tearing can be avoided, even without the protective tube of a finished round sling having an excess length and consequently a certain amount of wrinkling compared to the thread wrap forming its core. The heat setting of fabrics formed from plastic fibers is known in the art, for example, for seat belts for motor vehicles. The lengthwise shrinkage which occurs as a result of the thermofixing of the protective tube which is provided according to the invention and which further suppresses the formation of folds can be reversed in the event of extreme load attacks by irreversible expansion. However, the usual reversible tissue expansion area is still available as a further expansion option, which further increases the durability of the protective tube.

The suppression of the formation of folds of the protective hose on the finished round sling, which is effected according to the invention, significantly favors the production of a sling with the characterizing features of claims 11 or 12 or the production of a round sling mat with the characterizing features of claim 13 Protective hose much easier.

The protective tube 1 shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 consists of a tubular fabric with schematically Darge set warp threads 2 running in the longitudinal direction A of the hose and weft threads 3 running transversely thereto in the direction of the arrow 9. In the space 8 between the lower fabric 4 and the upper fabric 5 of the tubular fabric there is a thread winding (not shown in FIG. 1) which forms the load-bearing core of the round loops 1a (FIG. 4) forms.

By double entry of the weft threads 3, a monofilament weft thread 6 and a multifilament weft thread 7 are arranged side by side. The warp threads 2 are designed as multifilament threads in the exemplary embodiment. The stiffness of the protective tube 1 in the direction of arrow 9 is increased by the monofilament weft 6 in such a way that the tube edges 10, 11 attempt to jump apart in the unloaded state in the direction of arrow 9 so as to keep the tube in a flat, band-like shape.

On the side of the hose edge 10, the weft ends are intercepted and fastened with a crochet 25.

The finished round sling 1a shown in cross section in FIG. 3 in perspective and in a modified version in FIG. 4 consists of the core 12 in the form of one or more thread windings and the protective tube 13 consisting of a tubular fabric and surrounding the core 12 with considerable slack 4, a flat web 14 protruding laterally from its cross section is woven onto the protective tube 13. The thread winding of the core 12 consists of multifilament plastic threads drawn endlessly into the tube 13. The flat web 14 is in the weaving of the S chlauchgewebes simply formed in that a binding warp is incorporated across its width 15 in the two-ply fabric, as is familiar to any person skilled in weaving.

Dabei entstehen an beiden Seiten Einhängeaugen 20, da nur der Zwischenbereich 19 durch die Naht 18 vernäht ist, welche die beiden Rundschlingenteile 21,22 miteinander verbindet.5 and 6 show how a sling 17 is formed from the round sling 1a according to FIGS. 3 and 4 by sewing the flat webs 14. The seam is designated 18. This results in hook-in eyes 20 on both sides, since only the intermediate region 19 is sewn by the seam 18, which connects the two round loop parts 21, 22 to one another.

The round sling 1a shown in FIG. 7 has a woven flat web 14 or 16 on each of two opposite sides of the hose cross section. In the cross section 17 shown in FIG. 8, which is created from the round sling 1a according to FIG. 7, the abutting flat webs 14 of two adjacent parts of the protective tube 13 are sewn together, through the seam 18. The step 17 is formed in that in the intermediate region 19 (see FIG. 5) between the hanging eyes 20 two round loop parts 21, 22 are connected to one another. 6 and 8, the flat webs lie on one another and are sewn directly to one another (18).

In the intermediate area 19, according to FIG. 9, an abrasion protection pad 23 in the form of e.g. a textile tape can be sewn or fastened with the flat webs 14, 16 by sewing (seams 18). The round sling parts 21, 22 are simultaneously and indirectly connected to one another.

16 eingebracht.10 and 11 show a round sling mat 24 produced using three round slings 1a or slings 17, which can be hung into a lifting harness with the hanging eyes 20. The individual rounds lie here loop 1a in the manner of Stroppen 17 placed side by side. They are indirectly connected to one another by seams 18, for example via an abrasion protection pad 23. The seams 18 are in turn introduced into the abutting flat webs 14 and 16.

Fig. 12 shows a mat 24 and that here the flat webs 14; 14 and 16; 16 of the slats 17 and round sling parts 21, 22 overlap and are directly connected to one another by appropriate seams 18. Here, therefore, the slugs 17 are connected to the webs 16 by overlapping them directly via seam 18.
