Claims (10)

1. A reusable theft-resistant case for self- service merchandising of articles, comprising a cover (11) which is held in place by a lock with combined mechanical and electromagnetic operation caused by the action of a suitable key device (25), characterised in that the lock comprises a bolt means (13,14,15,16) which is adapted to be retracted in response to the thrust force of a profiled rod which is carried by the key device and which passes into the case (1) through a profiled opening (14a) which is complementary to the rod, a flyweight (17) of ferromagnetic material, disposed in such a way as to prevent retraction of the bolt means (13,14,15,16), being capable of freeing same by retracting against the force of a spring (17a) under the action of a magnetic field produced by the key device (25).
2. A case according to Claim 1, characterised in that the bolt means comprises a spring (13) formed by two arc members (13a, 13b) with oppositely directed concavities, which are connected together at their ends and which bear by means of said ends against abutments (18, 18') which are fixed with respect to the case, a thrust member (14) for said profiled rod being disposed at the top of a first arc member (13a) on the convex side, while a cross member (15) carrying bolts (15a, 15'a) is fixed to the top of the second arc member (13b).
3. A case according to Claim 2, characterised in that said flyweight (17), which has the general shape of a body of revolution about an axis, is disposed between said spring arc members (13a, 13b) with its axis perpendicular to the general plane that they define, and comprises a peripheral groove (17b) opposite a projection (16) formed in the first arc member (13a) in line with said thrust member (14) on the concave side, the abutting of the ends of the spring arc members being positive only under a thrust force on the thrust member (14).
4. A case according to one of Claims 1 to 3, characterised in that it comprises a generally rectangular base plate (10), a parallelepipedic housing (20) for the article, with a bottom and side walls (21, 21'), formed in the base plate, said cover (11) completing the housing (20) flush with the base plate (10), and a dish (12) which is moulded in the base plate (10) and is contiguous with the article housing (20) by virtue of a wall (10c) containing the lock and closed by a plate (12a) which is sealed flush with the base plate (10).
5. A case according to Claim 4, characterised in that the cover has raised edges (11 a, 11 b, 11 c) in juxtaposed relationship internally to the walls (10c, 21, 21') of the housing (20) in the closed position.
6. A case according to one of Claim 4 or 5, characterised in that the cover (11) is pivoted on the base plate (10) by means of an axis (19), on the side of the housing (20) opposite to the common wall (10c) with the dish (12) housing the lock, the pivot mounting being disposed in a compartment (11, 11 d, 11e) terminating the cover, with a bottom (11 d) perpendicular to the general plane of the cover (11) and a flange portion (11 e) parallel to said plane, said flange portion (11 e) being disposed flush with the bottom of the housing (20) in the closed position of the cover (11).
7. A case according to Claim 6, characterised in that the pivot axis (19) being disposed equidistantly from the general plane of the cover (11) and the bottom (11 d) and the flange portion (11 e) of the pivot compartment, flanges (19a, 19'a) of circular configuration which are fixed with respect to the base plate are disposed coaxial with the pivot axis and tangentially to the three sides (11, 11 d, 11 e) of the pivot compartment.
8. A case according to one of Claims 1 to 7, characterised in that at least the cover (11) is formed from a transparent plastics material.
9. A case according to one of Claims 1 to 8, characterised in that the base plate (10) is orovided with a suspension means (10a, 10b) in line with one of its short sides.
10. A case according to one of Claims 1 to 9, characterised in that the base plate (10) is of a format measuring at least 210 mm by 170 mm.
