Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a blower with a guide channels for the housing to be conveyed medium and with a rotatably mounted impeller with vane grille, which is accommodated in a block made of sound-absorbing material, such as porous plastic, and is surrounded by an approximately spiral-shaped boundary wall of the housing block. in particular to a built-in blower intended as a fan for installation in systems.
In the preferred intended use as built-in fans in overall arrangements, for example in ventilation systems, as cooling fans in copying machines and for similar uses, it is always a matter of minimizing noise and adapting them appropriately to the installation spaces, which are usually rather cramped for such uses.
As a measure to reduce the operating noise, it has already been proposed in a generic blower in DE-OS 15 03 610 to use an inner block made of porous plastic foam in the blower housing, which extends as far as a boundary wall that roughly spirally surrounds the blade grid of the impeller. A similar proposed solution can be found in DE-OS 27 36 047, in which a spiral-type blower with a sound-absorbing insert which is delimited by inner and outer boundary surfaces and surrounds the impeller blade grille is described.
The measures indicated by the aforementioned prior publications for reducing the operating noises occurring in the case of blowers of the generic type are still in need of improvement and lead to complex housing constructions. Above all, however, the blowers according to the state of the art prove to be only inadequately adaptable to different installation spaces, as occur almost without exception when installing such blowers in systems.
The invention is intended to remedy these deficiencies and, accordingly, to create a blower that develops a lower level of noise than the previously known blowers and can be installed without any problems even in confined installation spaces without appreciable impairment of the desired noise reduction with respective adaptation to the available installation spaces.
This problem is solved in a blower of the type specified at the outset by the construction of the housing from the housing block consisting of sound-absorbing material and this between the front cover plates receiving it.
While in the prior art blowers discussed above, internal housing inserts made of sound-absorbing material were provided in the interest of reducing noise, it is characteristic of the solution according to the invention that a block made of foam-absorbing material, such as porous plastic, forms the essential part of the blower housing and no other housing enclosing the housing block made of sound-absorbing material is required. With a suitable selection of sound-absorbing materials, it is possible on the one hand to considerably reduce the operating noises compared to known fans as a result of effective sound absorption at the point of origin or in the vicinity thereof, and on the other hand to adapt the fan housing to the available installation spaces without any noticeable impairment of the sound absorption.
An expedient embodiment of the invention is characterized in that at least one of the housing cover plates receiving the housing block between itself also consists of sound-absorbing material, for example of a foam having a certain hardness.
In the case of a housing structure according to the invention, in the interest of a low flow resistance, it is advisable to equip at least the boundary wall surrounding the impeller blade vane and / or the downstream flow channel of the housing block with a smooth, but sound-permeable lining. This lining can consist of a fiber flow applied to the sound-absorbing material and a smooth film covering the latter on the inside of the channel, or, according to another design feature of the invention, can be realized by "skin" of the surfaces facing the flow, at least of the housing block consisting of sound-absorbing material.
Another expedient embodiment of the invention is that, when it is designed as a built-in blower, the impeller is mounted with the vane grille on a support plate, which in turn is connected to the housing and is mounted via at least one elastically flexible element in an overall arrangement accommodating the blower. This measure noticeably dampens vibrations and on the other hand prevents the transmission of structure-borne noise. The Trag plate, on which the impeller is rotatably mounted, can also be accommodated in an overall arrangement with limited elastic compliance via an end wall of the housing, this end wall then forming the elastically flexible element and consisting of sound-absorbing material with a predetermined elasticity.
Another expedient design feature is that in the case of training as a radial fan, the housing block consisting of sound-absorbing material extends essentially over the axial length of the impeller grille and contains the flow channels for the medium to be conveyed. One of the front cover plates can be provided with a recess adapted to the hub of the impeller and the cover plate removed from it can have an axially directed inflow channel for the medium to be conveyed, which is adapted to the diameter of the impeller grille.
In addition to the reduction in operating noise, which is improved according to the invention, there is a particular advantage of the invention that a housing made of the inner housing block made of sound-absorbing material and the front cover plates accommodating it between itself can be easily adapted to the available installation spaces in terms of size and shape because the sound-absorbing materials, such as porous plastic with a certain hardness, are extremely easy to machine.

The housing consists of a
The elastic support plate support 15, the hub-
The assembly of the device is illustrated in FIG. 3. It can be seen that in view of the construction of the blower housing essentially of easily workable, sound-absorbing material, such as porous foam of a certain hardness, it is particularly easy to adapt such a housing to the available installation spaces in terms of shape and size.
