- Beim Biegen von Strängen in Stahlstranggiessanlagen ist es bekannt, sowohl beim Biegen eines geraden Stranges in einen Kreisbogen als auch beim Geraderichten eines gebogenen Stranges, die Biegearbeit in mehreren sich folgenden Schritten durchzuführen, damit der Strang im Biegebereich gegenüber einem Einpunktbiegen bzw. Einpunktrichten weniger stark beansprucht wird. Beim stufenweisen Biegen wird dabei der Biegeradius schrittweise verkleinert und/oder beim stufenweisen Richten schrittweise vergrössert. Bei Auslegung einer Stranggiessanlage mit einer Bogenkokille mit relativ kleinem Radius und mit anschliessender Kreisbogenstrangführung sowie schrittweisem Richtvorgang können eine niedrige Bauhöhe der Anlage und in der Praxis vertretbare Dehnungswerte in der Strangkruste im Richtteil der Strangführung erreicht werden. - Es ist weiter eine Strangführung zum Stützen und Führen sowie zum Umlenken eines nur teilweise erstarrten Stranges bekannt. Bei dieser Stützführung ist im an die Biegestrekke angrenzenden Rollenpaar eines geraden und eines bogenförmigen Teiles der Stützführung eine Rolle starr angeordnet. Entlang der Biegestrecke sind zur Abstützung des ferrostatischen Druckes Rollenpaare angeordnet, wobei mindestens vier dieser Rollen als kraftübertragende Biege- bzw. Richtrollen starr befestigt sind und von denen zwei an der Zugfaserseite und mindestens zwei an der Druckfaserseite des Stranges vorgesehen sind. Auch bei dieser Biegeeinrichtung ist das genaue Ausrichten der Rollen entlang der Uebergangskurve und gegenüber der bogenförmigen und der geraden Stützführungsbahn schwierig und zeitaufwendig. Die Dehnungsgeschwindigkeit an der Erstarrungsfront beim Biegen des Stranges verändert sich entlang der Biegestrekke schrittweise von Null bis zu einem Maximalwert und von diesem wieder schrittweise auf Null. Diese Biegecharakteristik verlängert die gesamte Biegestrecke um den anschwellenden und den abschwellenden Teil der Dehnungsgeschwindigkeitsänderung entlang der Biegestrecke. - Mit dem erfindungsgemässen Verfahren bzw. der erfindungsgemässen Biegeeinrichtung kann erreicht werden, dass sich eine minimale konstante Dehnungsgeschwindigkeit in der Strangkruste über die ganze Länge der Biegestrecke einstellt und sich dadurch minimalste Beanspruchungen an der Strangoberfläche und an der Phasengrenze fest-flüssig ergeben. Eine gewünschte oder zulässige Dehnungsgeschwindigkeit kann durch Wahl der Länge der Biegestrecke eingestellt werden. Daraus resultieren auch bei schwierig vergiessbaren Stahlqualitäten und/oder bei hohen Giessgeschwindigkeiten riss- und gefügefehlerfreie Stränge.Alle Rollen entlang der Biegestrecke zwischen dem gebogenen und dem geraden Teil der Stützführung übertragen keine Querkräfte bzw. keine Biegekräfte. Auch Ausrichtfehler des kreisbogenförmigen und des geraden Stützführungsteiles zueinander haben praktisch keinen negativen Einfluss auf die Strangqualität, weil die quer beweglichen Rollenpaare entlang der Biegestrecke sich auf eine entsprechende optimale Uebergangskurve selbst einstellen. Eine Verlängerung der Biegestrecke auf 3 oder mehr Meter Länge innerhalb der metallurgisch bedingten Stützlänge ist ohne weiteres möglich und praktisch ohne Mehrkosten. Dabei werden extrem tiefe Strangkrustenbeanspruchungen erreicht, welche niedrigste Rollenbiegebelastungen in der bogenförmigen und in der geraden Stützführungsbahn ergeben. Das erfindungsgemässe Verfahren ermöglicht im weiteren eine optimale laufende Anpassung der Uebergangskurve an sich ändernde Giess- und Strangparameter.
