Definitions
- the invention relates to a surfboard as is generally known in water sports. These devices are - especially those that are made of fiber composite material. - Affected with the disadvantage, that their edge areas are very exposed to damage.
- the present invention has for its object to remedy this deficiency and to create a surfboard that has very elastic surfboard edges.
- the proposed surfboard has an upper chord 10 and a lower chord 11, which are preferably formed from a moderately warp-reinforced fabric. These belts give the overall construction the required flexural strength and rigidity. So-called torsions are used to impart sufficient torsional rigidity to the device and also to maintain a shear-resistant connection between the belts boxes 12 provided.
- the lateral edge region 12a of these boxes is designed as a hollow circular cross-sectional body 13 and is made from a laminate of chemical fiber, for example polyester. While all other laminate parts are laminated with structural resin, ie with a resin with high rigidity and moderate elongation at break, the edge area is made with a flexible resin.
- This circular cross-sectional body 13 is provided with a hose filled with compressed air.
- the resulting stabilizing effect of the hose leads to the fact that the torsion box 12, which is circular in shape in this area, becomes full. contributes to thrust transmission.
- This configuration that is, elastic, round edge and torsion box shaped in this area in a circular manner - achieves maximum flexibility.
- it is also proposed to insert 12 capsized sacks into the chambers of the torsion boxes, as are known in whitewater boats.
- the proposed surfboard is manufactured in 2 half-shells, with the parting plane running horizontally.
- the straps 10, 11 are laminated in the two half-shells.
- the torsion boxes 13 are manufactured on inflatable elastic cores, which are folded and demolded after the reaction mass has hardened. After the torsion boxes 13 have been placed on the pressure cores, cores with a circular cross section - or almost circular cross section - are placed on the torsion box cores and the chemical fiber laminate is applied via this construction.
- the cores are then placed in the lower mold shell, the upper mold shell is placed on top and the two mold halves are clamped together and the pressure sacks are filled. This is followed by the curing process of the surf board.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a surfboard as is generally known in water sports. These devices are - especially those that are made of fiber composite material. - Affected with the disadvantage, that their edge areas are very exposed to damage.
The present invention has for its object to remedy this deficiency and to create a surfboard that has very elastic surfboard edges.
This task is made easier by the measures set out in the claims. and solved reliably. An exemplary embodiment of the invention is described in the following description and explained in the drawing. The single figure of the drawing shows a schematic representation of a cross section through the described embodiment, which, in addition to the advantage mentioned, has the further advantage that a substantially lower mass is required for production by avoiding a solid foam core, which also affects the manufacturing costs.
The proposed surfboard has an
The proposed surfboard is manufactured in 2 half-shells, with the parting plane running horizontally. The
Daran schließt sich dann der Aushärtevorgang des Surfborda an.The cores are then placed in the lower mold shell, the upper mold shell is placed on top and the two mold halves are clamped together and the pressure sacks are filled. This is followed by the curing process of the surf board.
