Description
The present invention relates to the field of manufacturing shoes and more particularly shoes with welded soles, the various constituent parts of which are assembled, mounted and shaped around a shape. It relates particularly to a production facility in which all or part of traditional workstations has been automated.
We know that making a shoe in a chain production plant involves a large number of operations requiring a large and highly specialized workforce for certain positions. These operations can be classified into three main groups: the cutting of the various constituent parts such as insoles or insoles, uppers or uppers; the stitching phases and all the assembly and finishing work. If the first two stages have been the subject, to date, of advanced automation by the use of sophisticated machines, with relatively safe operation and allowing good working rates, this is not the case of the 'all stages of fitting the shoe.
Briefly summarized, these assembly and finishing operations for a welded shoe can be stated as follows on a traditional chain where the basic shapes are arranged and around which the various works are carried out: selection of the insole or "first" corresponding to the given foot and size; centering then stapling or "display" of the first on the form; curving of the buttresses; assembly of the ends; mounting of the sides; fitting of the sockets (rear part of the shoe); tearing off the display cleats; successive carding of the parts to be glued; gluing of the rods mounted on the form; sizing of the outer soles (generally obtained by injection; in polyvinyl chloride or the like) and chain setting; reactivation of glue for soles and uppers; positioning of the soles on the uppers; display, pressure welding; possibly cutting false laces and taking the shoe out of its shape; varnishing of the shoe, generally by spraying; drying; verification of the finished shoe, packing in boxes (generally made next to the chain), composting of the shoe size and various distinctive signs, packaging, strapping, storage and shipping.
In a shoe manufacturing plant, such an assembly-finishing line requires a workforce of around 15 people, more than half of whom are highly specialized and who have frequent manual work to do. This for an average hourly production of around one hundred shoe patres.
In order to try to remedy these drawbacks of long staff training, reduce costs and improve the quality of manufacturing, it has already been proposed to supply the various workstations and to ensure the transfer and evacuation of objects semi-finished and finished using chains allowing semi-automatic or automatic manufacture of shoes. According to a first known group of transfer lines, essentially of Italian and Soviet origin, the chain is constituted by a series of carriages controlled for a step-by-step advance along a given path, for example polygonal, the carriages carrying forms which, with certain exceptions, are fixed and oriented in the direction perpendicular to that of the movement of the carriages; thus it is the heads of the machines which move along the line to come to work on the immobilized form. Various drawbacks have already been pointed out for this type of installation; in particular, the need for relatively long downtimes has been highlighted for certain operations (for example gluing or pressing), which leads to the adoption of long-term advancement steps for the carriages and results in hourly productions considered insufficient, for example of the order of 60 to 70 pairs of shoes. In order to overcome these drawbacks, a transfer chain has then been proposed in which the form-carrying carriages are autonomous, that is to say provided with clutches-disengages and systems with variable speeds and where the forms can be placed rotation according to different orientations according to the types of working machine. Thanks to these possibilities, such a line can allow time savings between certain operations but, in addition to a complexity in the technical realization of the carriages and their movement, it also requires the intervention of specialized labor for series of manual adjustments, in particular according to the types of sizes.
One of the aims of the invention is to propose a transfer installation by trolleys of new design, with safe operation and allowing high rates of work.
Another aim is to provide an almost entirely automated installation for manufacturing welded type shoes in which the staff can be reduced to one fifth of that usually employed in a traditional chain and leading on the one hand to an improvement in the quality of the finished objects, and on the other hand, to a productivity significantly higher than that of the aforementioned automated chains.
According to another improvement, the invention relates to the production of an evolving chain, that is to say capable of replacing, in the conventional manufacturing line, certain manual stations with machines for automatic work. This thanks to the interposition of autonomous modules in all or part of a traditional chain as currently used in shoe factories.
- a) des moyens de mise en place des premières sur les formes, avec sélection automatique du pied et de la taille, puis de centrage et accrochage ou " affichage " sur lesdites formes ;
- c) des moyens automatiques de collage et montage des flancs ;
- d) après collage et rabattage des tiges au niveau du talon (ou "emboîtage"), des moyens automatiques permettant de niveler ou "carder" sur la forme les rabats des bouts, arrières et flancs avec pré-enregistrement de la profondeur de cardage et palpage électronique du profil des flancs ;
- c) après brossage puis encollage des surfaces cardées et dépose sur la chaîne des semelles encollées, des moyens automatiques autorisant successivement : un retournement de la semelle, le pré-positionnement puis le centrage de celle-ci sur la tige toujours maintenue sur sa forme, la réactivation'de la colle, l'affichage puis le soudage de la semelle;
- a) means for placing the first on the forms, with automatic selection of the foot and the size, then centering and hanging or "display" on said forms;
- b) means intended to prepare the installation of the rod and assembly of the ends from a supply store at a constant higher level
- c) automatic means for bonding and mounting the sides;
- d) after gluing and folding down the rods at the heel (or "casing"), automatic means making it possible to level or "card" on the form the flaps of the ends, rear and sides with pre-recording of the carding depth and electronic probing of the side profile;
- c) after brushing then gluing of the carded surfaces and depositing on the chain of glued soles, automatic means successively authorizing: a reversal of the sole, the pre-positioning then the centering of the latter on the rod always maintained on its shape, reactivation of the glue, display then welding of the sole;
- f) a series of means intended to take out the form by preparing it for the next cycle then to grasp and transport the shoe which, after varnishing and verification, is put in a box and ready for dispatch; all the operations being carried out continuously, with safety systems during programming, on series of translatable carriages forming an endless chain where the shapes, arranged upside down, remain fixed during the implementation of said means at except for the end fitting phase.
- in the middle part two series of articulated supports for fixing a pair of forms; on each side of the supports, places for the removal of two soles of different feet; at one edge two remote cams intended to control one a change in size, the other the detection of a first for right or left foot; at the opposite edge two spaced studs allowing the switching of automation signals to the plates of each work station.

Finally, the means f) of form output of the shoe essentially comprise: a member for tilting the form towards the rear: a pliers-hammer combination making it possible to pull the shoe from the heel while raising it and to facilitate the thrust by pressure; and a device with multiple grippers for gripping the shoe, with tilting thereof at 90 degrees and depositing on a conveyor to then subject the shoe to the polishing-varnishing, inspection-control and packaging operations.
According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the plates carrying the shapes are translated by a step-by-step movement on the side members of a frame according to two horizontal paths situated in different planes, namely a first circulation path along work stations corresponding to means a) to e) up to the gluing stage for carded surfaces and soles, then a second circulation path located under the first and during which drying and evaporation of the glue, the transfer of the trays downwards, at the end of the path, being carried out on a level exchanger provided with a plate and plate guides as well as a platform lowering cylinder.
In a production installation where most of the work stations are automated in accordance with the implementation of all of the aforementioned means, each station operates on a single form of a plate, with the exception of the mounting of the sides where the work is carried out in pairs, and at the end of the circuit a shoe of each foot corresponding to a given size is obtained; packaging is therefore carried out in pairs.
According to an alternative embodiment, one or more stations with an automatic mounting machine can be doubled so as to work simultaneously, as in the aforementioned case of mounting the sidewalls (means c), on the two forms arranged on a tray for removing the shoes per pair at the end of the chain.

Although, as said above, the invention is not limited to a complete installation in automatic or quasi-automatic operation as shown in FIG. 1 and also relates to any of the automated machines of principle illustrated in the other figures and able to be introduced, as a module, in a conventional manual chain, the description below will essentially refer to this automated chain with developments, for each of the original phases, relating to the various figures of the other plates.
In this chain of the type shown in FIG. 1, the transport trolleys which continuously serve the operational line of the work stations follow the following path: a first path XX 'outside to serve the said stations then, after automatic descent of the trolleys as will be explained below, a second path YY 'made under the first within the same support frame and during which the glued objects undergo drying, the ascent of the carriages then occurs automatically to return to the surface and again follow line XX '.
Each transport trolley is made up, as can be seen in FIGS. 2 and 3, by a
These carriages are of the step-by-step advance type and move on the
The operation of transferring a carriage, that is to say its descent within the
On décrira maintenant en détail la séquence des opérations complètes de montage d'une chaussure depuis le point de départ repéré par D sur la chaîne jusqu'à la sortie de la chaussure montée, désignée par la lettre S.We will now describe in detail the sequence of complete operations for fitting a shoe from the starting point marked by D on the chain to the outlet of the mounted shoe, designated by the letter S.
The first operation consists in setting up and fixing the first on the form, carried out by the automatic assembly 26 (fig.l) and shown diagrammatically in FIGS. 4 a and 4 b. The supply of inner or
and The second operation corresponds to the installation of the rod on the form / is recreated by the
Then comes the gluing and folding or "mounting" sidewalls, identified by the
In the fourth operation, symbolized by the
Next come the side carding operations, done here on a series of four stations, namely: roughing carding (number 58) for the front ends using an endless band wheel with canvas emery or the like; carding the rear and front ends (59) with reversing the direction of rotation of the grinding belts for the grinding wheels; two lateral carding machines (60,61) for each of the feet forming the pair of a carriage. All of these devices are also automatic and are accompanied by one or
After brushing at 70 of the carded parts and simultaneous suction of the dust by 62, this using two inclined rotary brushes each working on a flank, is carried out on the
The following operation, represented manually in FIG. 1 by the
En bout de chaîne Y' chaque chariot est remonté en position travail (numérotée 20, figure 1).We thus arrive, according to the embodiment of the chain illustrated in FIG. 1, at the end of the first line XX ′ where the clocked transfers from the carriages at 19 take place in the lower part of the frame, as has been previously explained (low Figure 3). As illustrated in the upper diagram of FIG. 1, the carriages travel along
The following operation, which takes place in 78 and the principle of which is shown diagrammatically in FIGS. 9a to 9c, consists of a clever system for turning the sole over for the next operation where the latter should be on the heel side up. According to the method, the sole 75 is first pushed by an
After turning the sole, a series of operations takes place, all carried out on an
According to another original characteristic of this
The shoe being welded, it is then necessary to release it from the form and to prepare it for a new assembly cycle. One in seems automatic symbolized by 103 in FIG. 1 makes it possible to successively carry out the series of the following operations, illustrated by the diagram in FIG. 11: after position (a) with the fulcrum of the
It then suffices to carry out the finishing and control operations before storage and dispatch of the shoes thus produced. To do this, according to the embodiment illustrated in Figure 1, the shoes are sent by the
After varnishing with almost instant drying, the shoes arrive in pairs on the
An automatic chain, corresponding to the block diagram of FIG. 1, was produced by using 80 trays of 56 cm for a total length of approximately 26 meters. Such a line works with an extremely reduced staff, which can vary from 1 to 3 people instead of the 14 or 15 people normally required in a traditional assembly line. In addition, the quality of the finished objects is higher, thanks to the elimination of human errors and / or imperfections and the production rate is increased, this generally being between 90 and 120 pairs of shoes per hour.
Such results have been achieved thanks to the development of fully automated series of machines, such as, for example, those corresponding to
Of course, the invention is not limited to this type of purely illustrative embodiment which can undergo variants or use equivalent means. For example, some manual stations such as those called 38 and 73 can be automated. Furthermore, the automatic stations can be doubled so that each machine (as is the case for mounting the flanks at 48) can work on a pair at a time. According to an improvement, it is advisable, when the ambient temperature along the chain is above 25 ° C., to provide air conditioning by sending cold air over part of the latter within the circulation frame of the carriages, for example along the path marked in ZZ 'in FIG. 1. According to a variant, the air transport operation (111, 113) can be eliminated and replaced by the direct dispatch of the shoes, to the exit S, on a conveyor belt leading to the varnish projection phase then to the control and packaging operations.
Finally, as stated above, one 'one sets automatisé5 above-described may be interposed, as a module in a traditional chain manual intervention to mechanize the latter in an evolutionary manner.
