Abstract

El punto de partida para la creación del producto Mortero CHOKA se sitúa en valorizar el aspecto gastronómico vinculado a las costumbres históricas del Ecuador. En este sentido, mediante el diseño de un objeto se pretende resaltar la naturalidad del hacer en la cocina (machacar, triturar semillas, especies) adaptándose a nuevas cotidianidades del hogar y dinámicas culinarias en la contemporaneidad. Como resultado se concibe un objeto utilitario compacto, que a modo de cubo busca simplificar la estética con una forma geométrica, color y texturas naturales de materiales como la madera, piedra, otros; lo que permite dar énfasis a las especies y alimentos que son su razón de ser. Finalmente, una sustracción cilíndrica en el diseño permite acoplar el machacador en una de sus caras laterales optimizando el espacio que ocupa el diseño en general a la vez que buscando integrar ambas piezas en un solo sistema o totalidad.
