Abstract

A hearing aid with microphone (1), electronic amplifier (2) and reproduction loudspeaker (3) exhibits a linear/logarithmic converter (6). The control current Is output by this converter (6) is exponential with respect to the rotation of the operating knob of a linear potentiometer (5), by means of which the gain of the amplifier (2) can be set. A linear rotation of the operating knob of the potentiometer (5) thus produces a linear rising or decreasing of the volume output by the loudspeaker. The direction of rotation and the zero point of the potentiometer (5) can be reversed by means of a change-over switch (7), the amplifier characteristic remaining the same in relation to the rotation of the potentiometer (5). <IMAGE>
