The removal of solid and liquid impurities, especially water, from oils or taring in electrical clarification tanks occurs through the action of an electrical field, which is formed between two electrodes arranged at a certain distance from one another will. These electrodes generally consist of smooth metal sheets, so that the field lines between proceed normally, d. H. a homogeneous electric field is present. It has now been found that the clearing effect can be increased significantly if the electric field between the Electrodes is reinforced in places. In order to achieve this reinforcement in places, bodies with small radii of curvature are applied to the surface of one or both electrodes, whereby a considerably more intensive dehydration of the oils flowing through the electric field or Tars is done.
