The invention relates to an arrangement on suction pipes for conveying
liquids mixed with solids, e.g. B. for the extraction of gravel from lakes
or river courses in which the solids are stirred up by rinsing jets.
With the usual arrangement of this type, the rinsing jet acts on the solids
Forces that mainly act in the direction of the beam. This has the disadvantage
that only a small part of the suspended solids in the inlet of the suction pipe
got. In the case of the extraction of gravel, it has therefore already been proposed to use the flushing jet
to give a swirl or a vortex, creating a suction effect on the gravel
is exercised against the direction of the irrigation jet. The flushing nozzle becomes this
Purpose provided with a swirl body or a screw or spiral guide.
The effect of such a flushing nozzle is that the stones through the
rotating rinsing jet are whirled up in the core of the rinsing jet and then by the
Effect of centrifugal force are fed to the intake of the suction pipe.
However, this arrangement has the disadvantage that it is mixed with gravel
Water at the inlet of the suction pipe still has a twist, so that the gravel of the
Suction pipe is not sucked in centrally, but against the wall of the suction pipe inlet
hits and damages it. The invention aims at these disadvantages of the known ones
To avoid arrangement on suction pipes and is that a number, preferably
two rinsing nozzles provided with a swirl body and arranged in opposite directions of rotation
are, the rinsing nozzles in such a position to each other and with respect to the inlet
of the suction pipe are brought that the resulting flow between the rinsing jet axes
is directed towards the inlet and thus no longer contains a twist. Through this
the natural suction flow exerted by the suction pipe is increased
and thus the efficiency of the device is significantly improved.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown schematically in the drawing
shown. It shows Fig. I the position and the direction of rotation of the two rinsing jets
rinsing nozzles arranged at the inlet of a suction pipe and FIG. 2 the central longitudinal section
through one of the flushing nozzles.
.i und
In Fig. I, the inlet of the suction pipe is denoted by h. .i and
k are those of two arranged according to the invention and provided with a swirl body
Flushing nozzles generated vortices, the direction of rotation of which is opposite to one another and whose
resulting flow between the rinsing jet axes in the direction of the large arrow
is directed towards the inlet of the suction pipe h and thus no longer a swirl
contains. The consequence of this is that the stones are sucked in centrally by the suction pipe
so that they do not hit the wall of the intake manifold and thereby
damage to the suction pipe is avoided, and that furthermore the natural suction flow
is reinforced in the intake manifold.
In Fig. 2, the mode of operation of the flushing nozzles known per se is shown
Swirl body explained. With a, the flushing nozzle is referred to, which the water in the direction
flows in from top to bottom through pipe b. c is the one made up of helical surfaces
Swirl body. The water jet occurs as a result of the swirl generated by the swirl body
d from the flushing nozzle a essentially in the form of a cone. Inside this
Cone forms a core e. While a potential vortex arises in the surface of the cone,
the core e rotates like a rigid body, that is, with an almost constant
Angular velocity. Due to the centrifugal force, which the circulating water parts
experience in the cone shell d, there is a negative pressure in the core compared to the environment
a, so that water is constantly drawn from the core into the cone jacket d.
Correspondingly, secondary currents appear in the core itself as they go through
the arrows are indicated. It follows that through the stone layer f below
of the cone of water in the core a. must flow. This inflowing water exercises
Buoyancy forces on the individual stones, so that by the swirling rinsing jet
Forces are exerted on the individual stones that counteract the rinsing jet.
As in the example for gravel extraction described above
is the effect of the invention in pumping solids of other kinds.
