Weißgoldlegierxmgen für SchmuckzweckeWhite gold alloys for jewellery purposes
Beschreibung: Description :
Die Erfindung betrifft Weißgoldlegierungen für Schmuckzwecke aus Gold, Silber und Mangan. The invention relates to white gold alloys for jewellery purposes made of gold, silver and manganese.
Auch Kupfer ist ein Metall,CA-A-515 051 discloses 9-carat and 14-carat white gold alloys made of 37.5 to 60 wt.% gold, 0.5 to 10 wt.% manganese and silver as the remainder. The alloys can also contain small amounts of copper (up to 5%), zinc (up to 10%), nickel (up to 10%) and palladium (up to 5%). Nickel is becoming increasingly unpopular as an alloy component because nickel allergies can occur. Copper is also a metal,

welches Allergien hervorrufen kann und dient eher der Rotfärbung als der Weißfärbung.which can cause allergies and is more likely to produce red coloring than white coloring.
Ausserdem ist die Legierung sehr weich, was die Trageeigenschaften des Schmucks (leichtes Verkratzen und Verbiegen der Schmuckstücke) sehr nachteilig beeinflußt.DE-43 20 928 Cl describes an 18-carat white gold alloy made of 75 to 85% by weight gold, 1 to 20% by weight silver, 0.5 to 10% by weight manganese and 0.5 to 5% by weight gallium and/or germanium. Due to the addition of gallium and/or germanium, this known alloy is said to combine the white color and shine desired for white gold alloys with a low melting range, easy meltability and easy castability. However, this alloy shows very unsatisfactory soldering behavior, which causes considerable difficulties in jewelry production. In addition, the alloy is very soft, which has a very negative effect on the wearing properties of the jewelry (easily scratched and bent pieces of jewelry).
The present invention is based on the object of creating a nickel-free white gold alloy which combines the white color and gloss expected from white gold alloys with good processability, castability and good soldering properties as well as the required hardness and spring properties of nickel-containing white gold.
This task is solved by an 18 carat white
The alloys according to the invention do not contain the alloy components gallium and/or germanium required by DE-43 20 92 8 Cl and compensate for the optimum in comparison with the one specified in DE-43 20 928 Cl by a lower silver content in combination with a higher manganese content. This makes it possible to obtain a full-fledged white gold alloy without adding gallium and/or germanium, which has the desired pure, white color and shine, without having to resort to nickel or the otherwise used palladium, which is an expensive substitute metal.
Die 18-karätige Legierung hat in der Zusammensetzung gemäss Anspruch 2 die nachstehenden Eigenschaften:The 18-carat alloy has the following properties in the composition according to claim 2:
Schmelzbereich: 990 0C bis 960 0CMelting range: 990 0 C to 960 0 C
Dichte: 14,4 g/cm3 Density: 14.4 g/cm 3

HV5 nach 40 % Kaltverformung: 205.hardness
HV5 after 40% cold deformation: 205.
Die 14-karätige Legierung hat in der Zusammensetzung gemäss Anspruch 4 die nachstehenden Eigenschaften:The 14-carat alloy has the following properties in the composition according to claim 4:
Schmelzbereich: 92O0C - 885°CMelting range: 92O 0 C - 885°C

The alloys according to the invention have a clearly defined melting range and a higher hardness than the known gallium-containing alloys. They are characterized by good solderability and casting properties in jewelry. In addition, they can be used both for assembly purposes and for machining. With a high degree of deformation, they can also be used as a spring-hard alloy. They can be used for the entire jewelry and watch industry and can be used in the form of sheets, wires, tubes, cast parts for chains, brooches, necklaces, rings, watch cases and the like.
