BeschreibungDescription
Computer-Maus, zur Steuerung des Cursors auf einem MonitorComputer mouse, for controlling the cursor on a monitor
There are various types of computer mouse that are used to control cursor movement on a computer monitor. Most of them have a rectangular base and an upper housing part that is more or less curved or at least angled in the direction of the fingers resting on it. In this upper housing part, the buttons required to enter commands are usually arranged close together. It is common for these buttons to be operated by the operator's index and middle fingers, while the mouse itself is held and moved by the thumb and the other fingers. The direction in which the buttons are operated deviates only slightly from the vertical. Operating the buttons with relatively long, stretched fingers has proven to be very tiring. Furthermore, operating two buttons that are close together with the index and middle fingers of one hand requires a high level of concentration.
From DE-OS 37 05 492, a mouse-like X-Y input device is known, in which key elements are arranged on both the top and the vertical side walls. Since this is a multifunctional device, the arrangement of the key elements is not ideal from an ergonomic point of view. The arrangement of the key element, which is operated by the thumb, in the vertical and flat side wall, which is also used to hold and guide the mouse with the ball of the thumb, makes handling more difficult.
The invention is based on the object of creating a computer mouse that can be guided on the base surface with little fatigue and enables comfortable key operation.
This object is achieved by the means set out in claim 1.
The inventive arrangement of the control elements and design of the housing of a computer mouse means that the operator's hand can grip the housing in a completely relaxed manner. The fingers intended for operating the control keys (thumb and index finger) always remain in a natural, i.e. curved, finger position. The design of the housing in this area, which is particularly adapted to the ergonomics of the thumb, made it possible to shift the most important input function, the so-called mouse click, to the thumb. This leads to significantly improved control of finger movements.
Advantageous embodiments are specified in claims 2 and .
35The design according to claim 2 serves to provide a secure support for the fingers operating the command keys. 35
According to claim 3, a further recess is arranged in the housing for the fixed support of a finger.
Die Figuren zeigen:An embodiment of the invention is explained in more detail with reference to Figures 1 and 2. The figures show:
Fig. 1 eine räumliche Darstellung der Computer-Maus 05Fig. 1 a spatial representation of the computer mouse 05
Fig. 2 eine schematische Darstellung mit angedeuteter Hand der BedienpersonFig. 2 a schematic representation with indicated hand of the operator
The figures show the housing 3 of the computer mouse according to the invention, which is adapted to the ergonomic conditions of the human hand. The basic shape corresponds to the space surrounded by a human hand with slightly curved fingers (natural finger position). The molded bulge that accommodates the ball of the thumb, which forms the gripping surface 4 and the support surface 5, serves specifically to guide the computer mouse safely and comfortably on a base surface. The arrangement of the command key 1 in the area where the gripping surface 4 ends at the front, makes it possible to carry out the most frequently used key command, the actual mouse click, comfortably and with little fatigue. The arrangement of the command key 2 in the front, sloping downward area of the housing 3 enables particularly good coordination of the movement sequences when operating the command keys 1 and 2 with the thumb and index finger of the operator. To ensure that the fingers rest securely on keys 1 and 2, these are concavely designed to match the shape of the fingertips. A correspondingly designed recess 6 serves to improve the control and gripping ability of the computer mouse.
