Submersible housing

for holding garbage containers

The invention relates to a floor-retractable housing for accommodating garbage containers.

The housing is equipped with a hydraulically or electromechanically driven lifting and lowering platform. The housing cover can be opened and closed hydraulically.

Description:

The reusability of waste materials makes it necessary for the individual materials to be collected separately at the consumer’s premises. This means that households have to use several waste containers in the form of garbage cans or garbage bags.

Until now, for example, when building single-family or terraced houses, the placement of a garbage can was completely overlooked, so that the garbage cans had to be stored in the garage, which was usually small anyway.

This space problem will increase dramatically if each household is now assigned several garbage containers for recycling reasons.
In apartment buildings, garbage cans are known that

mostly made of concrete or stone, stand on level ground and can be closed with a door. Garbage container lifts are also known, which can lift garbage cans from the basement to street level. A construction is also known in which a platform is to be raised using an air bellows.

The invention is intended to solve the problem of how to accommodate several garbage containers without it being a nuisance. In addition, the containers should be accessible for filling and emptying quickly and without physical effort (opening time + lifting time approx. 15 seconds).

These requirements are met by the present invention Fig. 1.

It is a housing (1) made of steel, plastic or impregnated wood that can accommodate several garbage cans or garbage containers in the form of bags.

The housing (1) can be installed in the front garden or even in the garage driveway.

The housing (1) is lowered into a pit so that the upper edge of the housing (1) ends at the normal surface level.

The housing (1) essentially houses a platform (3) which engages with two rails (2) using rollers (12). The platform (3) hangs on two ropes (4) which can be moved by a hydraulic cylinder (5) via rope pulleys (16).

Alternatively, Fig. 3, a spindle (22) secured against rotation can be provided with a threaded pulley (20) which is mounted on

the spindle guide rests. The pulley (20) is electrically driven in clockwise or anti-clockwise rotation via a toothed belt (19).

When the piston rod (13) or the spindle (22) moves upwards, the platform (3) is raised, whereby the travel of the platform (3) is twice as large as the stroke of the piston rod (13) or the spindle (22).

The wire ropes (4) are connected to the platform (3) with adjustable screw clamps (6), which makes it possible to adjust the platform (3) precisely, i.e. to bring the piston rod (13) into a horizontal position at the upper level in its end position.

In order to be able to carry out any maintenance work, the platform (3) is designed in such a way that the support surface (7) can be swivelled by 90° via a hinge (8).

The housing (1) is closed with a cover (9) Fig. 3, which rests on a parallelogram-like rod (10). The front part of the rod (10) lies with its upper pivot point in a half-shell (11). This ensures that the risk of accidents is reduced when closing hydraulically by a swivel motor, i.e. if, for example, a foot protrudes into the housing (1), injury is avoided because the cover (9) is raised.

In order to make the housing (1) completely invisible, the lid (9) is designed as a greenhouse box (15).
