FugenschieneJoint rail
Die Erfindung betrifft eine Fugenschiene aus Kunststoff oder Metall für den Einsatz als Arbeitsfuge, Scheinfuge oder Sollrißfuge von Fußböden, insbesondere Betonböden und Estrichen, als im Querschnitt im wesentlichen eine auf dem Kopf stehende T-Form aufweisende Profilschiene mit einem unteren Quersteg und mit einem davon aufragenden, im wesentlichen senkrechten oberen Steg, die nach der Einbringung in das Estrichmaterial derart eingebettet ist, daß derThe invention relates to a joint rail made of plastic or metal for use as a construction joint, dummy joint or predetermined crack joint in floors, in particular concrete floors and screeds, as a profile rail with a cross-section essentially an upside-down T-shape with a lower crossbar and with an upper, essentially vertical web rising up from it, which, after being introduced into the screed material, is embedded in such a way that the
senkrechte Steg den oberflächennahen Bereich des Estrichs teilt und mit einer sein freies Ende begrenzenden Endfläche im wesentlichen in einer Ebene mit der Bodenoberfläche liegt.vertical web divides the area of the screed close to the surface and with an end surface delimiting its free end lies essentially in a plane with the floor surface.
Dadurch, daß die Fugenschiene eine gewollte, geradlinige Trennung im OberflächenbereichJoint rails of this type are designed to divide the surface of a concrete floor or screed and to prevent the so-called shrinkage cracks that occur as a result of the inevitable shrinkage of the material from occurring in undesirable places and in irregular shapes. Because the joint rail creates a deliberate, straight separation in the surface area
tr t tr t
Sichtbar wird allenfalls ein gewisser Abstand zwischen dem oberen, freien Ende des senkrechten Stegs, dessen Endflache ja sichtbar ist, und der angrenzenden Kante eines Bodenbereichs.of a floor, which causes the visual division into sections, a desired shrinkage is created, so to speak, in that the material, when hardening, retreats from the vertical web of the joint rail at least on one side and the actual shrinkage crack occurs in the area of at least one free end of the cross web and continues towards the subfloor. It goes without saying that this shrinkage crack, which runs along the said end of the cross web of the joint rail but otherwise continues irregularly downwards, cannot be seen. At most, a certain distance is visible between the upper, free end of the vertical web, the end surface of which is visible, and the adjacent edge of a floor area.
The fact that this floor edge is a certain distance from the end surface of the vertical web of the joint rail is to be seen as a disadvantage in that the gap resulting from this distance, which continues downwards 4 , can accommodate foreign bodies such as dirt particles or similar 1 , which can penetrate down to the cross web. This is not only visually unsatisfactory, but also potentially unhygienic, since this relatively deep gap can no longer be completely cleaned.
Joint rails of this type are intended for poured floors, such as the floors made of concrete or screed material mentioned above, but it goes without saying that the use of a joint rail can also bring optical advantages at the joints of a dry screed, which can expand and shrink simply as a result of temperature differences.
However, in particular with cast concrete floors, a further disadvantage occurs in that the joint edge of the floor adjacent to the joint rail and which has a certain distance after shrinkage, which of course represents a 90° edge in the known joint rail, is particularly at risk because loads from wheels, heels or the like can lead to parts of this edge breaking off, which is also unsatisfactory.
The object underlying the invention is therefore to create a joint rail of the type mentioned at the beginning, which not only at least limits, if not largely prevents, the penetration of foreign bodies into the resulting joint gap, but also provides edge protection in such a way that breaking off of the joint edges of the floor can be largely avoided.
This object is achieved according to the invention in that the free upper end of the essentially vertical web has a widening (.
This widening leads on the one hand to a covering of the vertical joint gap, which prevents foreign bodies from penetrating deep into the joint gap, possibly as far as the lower crossbar, and on the other hand to edge protection.
The effectiveness of covering the joint and protecting the joint edge depends on the shape of the widening.
According to a first embodiment of the invention, the widening can be designed as a second crossbar, such that the rail has a double-T profile in cross section. In addition, a transition area can be present between the widening and the essentially vertical web, which in turn can be designed as a wedge with two slopes running essentially symmetrically downwards and inwards. This wedge can also be attached directly to the widened end surface. The wedge angle can be selected differently, whereby it is understood that the widening becomes wider for a given thickness, the more obtuse the opening angle of the wedge is.
In a further embodiment, the transition area can be designed as a groove on both sides or, in mirror image, as a bulge on both sides; in both cases, the cross-section is expediently chosen to be circular in shape for the sake of simplicity.
The invention and its advantageous embodiments are explained in more detail below with reference to embodiments shown in the drawing.

Fig. 8 einen der Fig. 1 entsprechenden Querschnitt durch eine sechste Ausführungsform. i Fig. 8 shows a cross section corresponding to Fig. 1 through a sixth embodiment. i
Only for a first embodiment according to Fig. 1 are side views and top views according to Figs. 2 and 3 also provided; for the other embodiments this is considered unnecessary for reasons of analogy.
Diese Fugenschiene 1 ist nach der Einbringung in das nicht gezeigteFig. 1 to 3 show the first embodiment of the joint rail with a lower crossbar 2 and a substantially vertical upper bar 3 protruding from it. This joint rail 1 is, after being inserted into the not shown
Floor material (concrete or screed, etc.) is embedded in such a way that the vertical web 3 divides the area of the floor near the surface and lies with an end surface 4 delimiting its free end essentially in a plane with the floor surface.
According to the invention, the free upper end 5 of the essentially vertical web 3 is now provided with a widening B compared to the wall thickness b of the vertical web 3. In the first embodiment shown in Figs. 1 to 3, the widening B is designed as a second cross web 7, such that the profile of the rail is a double-T profile. It is easy to see that when the material shrinks, an open gap can only form in the area of the edge surfaces 6 or 6a, which is relatively flat, since the wall thickness d of the second cross web 7 is also relatively small, whereas the gap that forms or exists in the area of the vertical web 3 or to the right and left of it remains covered.
As can be seen, there is a transition area between the widening B and the rest of the essentially vertical web 3, which in the embodiment according to Fig. 1 to 3 is rectangular in cross section. In the second embodiment according to Fig. 4, however, the transition area has an additional wedge 8 with two slopes 9 and 10 running essentially symmetrically downwards and inwards. According to the third embodiment according to Fig. 5, this wedge 8 can also be attached directly to the widened end surface 4. It goes without saying that such a wedge also serves to cover shrinkage joints on both sides of the vertical web 3. In the case of the embodiment according to Fig. 5, it also has the advantage that the
The edges of the screed that border on the screed are of course sloped accordingly, ie they no longer have 90 ° edges, but rather obtuse-angled edges, which naturally increases the edge strength. It will rarely, if ever, happen that such edges break off in places.
The fourth embodiment according to Fig. 6 corresponds essentially to the embodiment according to Fig. 5, but here the opening angle £<^ of the wedge is blunt, which further improves the gap coverage. Apart from that, the gap in the area of the wedge surfaces 9' and 10' is particularly narrow, and the narrower the more obtuse the angle ^ is. Apart from that, an increase in the widening B results in an optically even more advantageous image.
The embodiments according to Figures 7 and 8 are variants of the embodiments according to Figures 5 and 6 in that here the transition areas 8 are designed on the one hand as grooves 11 and 12 on both sides and on the other hand as bulges 13 and 14j on both sides. The grooves 11, 12 and bulges 13, 14' are each expediently circular in cross section, which is convenient for manufacturing purposes. In both cases, not only is the gap or gaps in the area of the vertical webs 3 covered, but also the edges (not shown) of the base areas adjacent to the respective end surfaces 4 are reinforced for the reasons mentioned. The latter also applies to the embodiment according to Fig. 8, although the material edge there begins as a 90° edge, since the bulges 13 and 14 lead directly to a reinforcement or support of the edge.
