The invention relates to a device for aligning the stringing of rackets, in particular tennis rackets, both after initial and re-stringing as well as after or during use.

extreme playing style and lateral stress. Such a shift leads to a change in the elastic behavior of the stringing and thus inevitably to mistakes by the player. Manually aligning the strings with the fingertips is practically impossible when the stringing is still halfway intact because the friction between the strings is too great. There is usually not enough time during breaks in play.

The object of the invention is to create a device for aligning the strings of tennis rackets, for example, with which the displaced strings can be returned to the original grid in a simple and safe manner. It is also the object of this invention to correct the deviation from the target grid when re-stringing, which inevitably occurs as a result of uneven tension in the individual strings. This prevents the kinks at the contact points of the strings, which form over time, from being outside the target grid. If the original kinks are in the target grid, this supports the quality and stability of the strings. The tendency to shift is reduced, and the usage phases from one alignment to the next are longer.

Finally, the device should also serve to align the covering in the shortest possible time.

A number of solutions to this problem have already been proposed, but they are difficult to implement, sometimes do not work and are therefore not used in practice. The disadvantage of these proposals

lies in particular in the very high force required or in the fact that a large number of shifted crossing points of a tight covering cannot be shifted simultaneously.

It is therefore a further object of the invention to eliminate these disadvantages of the existing proposed solutions and to create a practical device.

This object of the invention is achieved by a device in which pyramid-shaped projections are arranged on a base plate in parallel rows in a grid pattern corresponding to the string grid of the racket, the base plate in use being curved in one axis in such a way that the projections of each parallel row describe a part of the arc.

With such a device, it is possible to return the covering to the basic pattern without great effort by means of a relative rolling movement between the covering and the device. The effort required is relatively low due to the only partial engagement between the device and the covering. Either the device is guided over the covering as a loose hand-held device similar to a roller or the covering is rolled over the device using a racquet, which is attached to a stable base.

The device (Figure 1) designated as (1) has a base area that corresponds approximately to the shape and size of the stringing (2) of the racket. Its length is designated by (L ¹ ), its width by (B ¹ ), and the clear dimensions of the stringing are designated by (L) and (B). The device (1) essentially consists of the base plate (3) and a grid field (4) of pyramid-shaped projections (5) on the upper side (6) of the base plate (3).

The device according to the invention has means (7) for fastening to a base (8). The pyramid-shaped projections (5) have bevels on the outside with an angle of approximately 20 to 25°, their cuboid-shaped bases (9) form mutually crossing grooves (10) for the strings.

The device according to the invention can be designed as a rigid component, e.g. as a plastic injection-molded part (19) according to Figure 2 with a circumferential stabilizing edge (11) and stabilizing ribs on the underside (12). However, it can also be designed as a flexible plastic injection-molded part (20) (Figures 3 to 6) which is attached via the fastening means (7)

is attached to a curved rigid base (8) or as a pure plastic injection-molded part (Figure 6) using clamping elements and can be moved from the flat transport position to the curved functional position using simple hand movements. The fastening means (7) can be conventional nails, screws or molded centering bolts (Figure 3) or hooks (Figures 4 and 5).

Figure 5 shows that the device in the flexible embodiment of the invention for the transport and intermediate storage of the racket in an extended version can be pressed into the stringing (2).

Figure 6 shows a flexible embodiment of the device according to the invention, once in the functional position (partial view (a)) and in the flat transport position (partial view (b)). The base plate (3) is provided with ends (13) curved towards the underside, which are connected to tension bands (15a, 15b) via integrally molded film hinges (14) that have hook elements (16a, 16b) at their ends. The flexible base plate (3) is supported in the functional position by support ribs (17) molded onto the base plate (3) or by ribs (18) molded onto the tension bands, with the ribs (17) being supported on the ribs (18).
