Shoe soles of the type mentioned at the beginning represent a further development of the state of the art, which is represented by US-PS 19 64 364 and DE-PS 27 32 391. Shoe soles of the type mentioned at the beginning differ from this state of the art only in that the two solid wooden parts, which take up the majority of the volume of the sole body, also \

The sole and the sides are covered with the same material that also forms the elastic intermediate web. Such shoe soles are manufactured by placing the two solid wooden parts in a suitably adapted mold, in which these two parts are then covered with suitable plastic right down to the sole of the foot, with the plastic used being adjusted to the desired elasticity. The two solid wooden parts were probably left in order to save plastic. Apart from the elastic intermediate part in the ball area, the wooden part extending from the intermediate part to the heel remains absolutely rigid when using such a sole. Apart from that, the manufacture of such shoe soles is quite complex and expensive, which is inevitably reflected in the price of such soles.
The innovation, based on a shoe sole of the type mentioned above, is based on the task of improving the elasticity of the entire sole despite the use of wooden parts, simplifying production in order to reduce costs and ensuring that the elastic intermediate part in the ball area is almost the same thickness as the other elastic part of the sole body.

This object is achieved with a shoe sole of the type mentioned at the outset according to the innovation by the features stated in the characterising part of the main claim . Advantageous further developments arise from the subclaims.
Beanspruchungen, wie sie bei Sohlen der eingangs genannten Art für die relativThis new type of shoe sole differs entirely from the type mentioned at the beginning in that it has a completely elastic sole body which forms the main mass of the sole, whereby the elastic material no longer represents the connecting and covering material for solid wooden parts, but the entire sole itself, which is only covered in the foot support area with thin, i.e. more or less sheet-like, wooden cuts in relation to the total thickness of the sole. For this covering with wooden cuts, flat, shaped recesses are formed in the completely elastic sole body, into which the flat, shaped cuts are inserted using a suitable adhesive. This simplifies production considerably, since the wooden parts no longer have to be placed in a mold and foamed with plastic. Since the two leaf-like wooden parts practically only represent a sole support, the requirement is also met that the elastic intermediate part located in the ball area has almost the same thickness as the other elastic part of the sole body. Stresses such as those that occur in soles of the type mentioned above for the relatively
Praktisch gilt dies ebenfalls für die Sohle nach der DE-PS 27 32 391 und auch die Sohle der eingangs genannten Art.large connecting surfaces between the cross-sectionally = large wooden parts and the plastic no longer occur with the new design of the shoe sole* Apart from the fact that the new sole is more elastic overall because the majority of its volume consists of elastic material, there is also the fact that the thin, leaf-like wooden parts are naturally elastic to a certain degree, in contrast to the solid wooden parts, which can be described as absolutely rigid in view of the body load to be taken into account here. If you like, you can view the new sole as a practical reversal of the design principle according to the aforementioned US-PS 19 64 364, in which two solid wooden parts forming the actual sole body are connected by an elastic strip arranged only in the ball area. While in the subject matter of this US patent the elastic part is, so to speak, only an accessory to the two wooden parts, in the new type of shoe sole the two thin, leaf-like wooden parts are only accessories to the overall elastic sole body. In practice this also applies to the sole according to DE-PS 27 32 391 and also to the sole of the type mentioned at the beginning.
üblich sind, also im Bereich von etwa 1 bis 1,5 cmBased on standard sole thicknesses, such as those commonly found in slipper- or sandal-like footwear or clogs or similar, i.e. in the range of about 1 to 1.5 cm
The two wooden cuts are only dimensioned to be 1 to 3 mm thick, preferably 2 mm thick. It is advantageous for the cuts to be made from pre-formed, at least one-ply veneered wood.
In view of the loads occurring in the ball area or the crosspiece and on the adjacent edge areas of the cuts, an advantageous development of the sole can be that the edges of the cuts adjacent to the crosspiece are provided with edge reinforcements pointing into the interior of the sole body, which engage in correspondingly pre-formed receiving grooves in the sole body. These edge reinforcements can either be pressed on when the cuts are molded or the edge reinforcements are attached separately to the relevant edges of the cuts in a suitable manner. Since the elastic part of the sole body is significantly thicker in relation to the cuts, it offers sufficient space to be able to mold these shallow grooves into the sole body when it is manufactured completely separately. A further advantageous embodiment consists in the fact that the edges of the troughs are designed in the form of undercuts and the edges of the cuts are provided with corresponding projections and these are designed to converge towards the foot support surface. A design in this form is absolutely unproblematic, since the flexible sole body can be easily removed from the elastic material without any overlaps.
sehenen Formwerkzeug für die Muldenausbildungen entnommen werden kann und andererseits die entsprechend bezüglich ihrer Ränder ausgebildeten Zuschnitte ebenso problemlos in die Mulden bzw. deren hinterschnittenen Ränder eingeschnappt werden können.the mold provided for the trough formations can be removed and, on the other hand, the blanks with the corresponding edges can be snapped into the troughs or their undercut edges just as easily.
The advantage of the new shoe sole is that it is overall much more elastic, but on the other hand it is combined with the advantageous properties that wood offers.
Die neuartige Schuhsohle wird nachfolgend anhand der zeichnerischen Darstellung von Ausführugnsbeispielen näher erläutert .The new shoe sole is explained in more detail below using drawings of examples.

As can be seen better from Fig. 2, 3, the wooden parts are not parts which take up the majority of the volume of the entire sole, but the sole is designed in such a way that the sole body 1 is provided on the foot side in the ball area 13 with two pre-formed troughs 3 with a shallow depth T, separated by a crossbar 2, in which thin wooden cuts 1 I, '4' which correspond to the shell shape and are adapted to the foot surface are arranged, corresponding to the shallow trough depth T or the corresponding web height H. These cuts 1 I, 4 1 are simply connected to the trough boundary surfaces, ie both to the large trough bottoms and to the trough edges, using a suitable adhesive 5. Suitable permanent adhesives are readily available for the adhesive 5, with which wood and plastic can be permanently bonded. The cut pieces 4, 4' are approximately 2 mm thick, and thus have a significantly lower thickness in relation to the thickness of the elastic sole body 1, as is shown in Fig. 2.
Abgesehen davon, daß man derartige Holzzuschrtlfcfce 1I, H1 auch in geeigneter Weise aus Massivholz herausarbeiten kann, sind die Zuschnitte 4, 4· vorteilhafter aus formverpreßtetn minde«Apart from the fact that such wood cuts 1 I, H 1 can also be machined in a suitable manner from solid wood, the cuts 4, 4· are more advantageously made from molded min.
