Kitchen base cabinet

The invention relates to a kitchen base unit with a worktop and front doors arranged below the worktop, behind the upper edge of which a handle recess is arranged.

Handle recesses on kitchen base units are provided so that you can reach behind the top edges of the front doors and open or pull them open. The area of the kitchen base unit behind the handle recess is practically unusable.

The invention is based on the object of designing a kitchen base cabinet of the type assumed to be known in such a way that additional, easily accessible storage options are created in the area of the handle hollow.

This task is solved by arranging a panel above the upper edge of the handle cavity that continues the contour of the handle cavity and can be pulled out forwards, which forms the front of the extension.

The solution according to the invention creates additional storage options in the immediate vicinity of the worktop. The resulting pull-out can, for example, serve as a cutlery drawer, which should preferably be located near the worktop and in the direct access area.

The furniture body 1 has a handle cavity 5« on its front side 5 below the worktop 2. In the handle cavity 5 a cutout 5a is provided; which is filled by a panel piece 6. The panel piece 6 continues the contour of the adjacent fixed area when pushed in. To make it easier to pull out, a handle 7 is provided on the panel 6. The panel 6 forms the front side of a pull-out, only indicated schematically, as a whole designated 8. This pull-out can be a cutlery drawer, for example.

3 designates a lower front door, which rests against a stop profile 4 when closed. The front door 4 protrudes upwards over the lower area of the handle recess 5 and can therefore be easily reached behind.

In the embodiment according to Figure 4, the handle cavity 5 with cutout 5a corresponds to the embodiment according to Figure 2. In this embodiment, the width of the cutout 5a is therefore smaller than the width of the associated base cabinet.

Figure 6 shows the handle cavity provided in the middle base cabinet according to Figure 4. This handle cavity has a fixed lower area 5 ¹ that extends over the entire width of the cabinet. This fixed lower area 5' is supplemented by a panel 6' that extends upwards and continues the contour and forms the front of a pull-out (not shown) located behind it.
