Wheel clamp

The innovation concerns a wheel clamp for theft protection for motor vehicles, in which two claw halves are mounted and secured around the tire profile of an attached wheel.

This makes driving so difficult that theft is prevented.

Such a claw, the Schmolke, Höxter, be-IC system, has become known, but it only grips the tire profile including the outer rim edges. The disadvantage here is that the wheel can be replaced with the wheel claw without any parts having to be disturbed, and thus the vehicle can be made drivable again relatively quickly, e.g. using the car's spare wheel or an old wheel, especially if the thieves are used to this.

The aim of the innovation is to improve such wheel clamps with little effort so that the wheels fitted with the wheel clamps on motor vehicles can be

without having to disturb the wheel, and allowing for easy adjustment to suit different mounting conditions in relation to the parts connected to the wheel.

This task is solved by attaching an additional spacer to the inner half of the claw, which extends behind the brake drum or other parts that do not belong to the vehicle's wheel and rests there with little play. 10

This holder can be included as a loose part and attached by riveting using two rivets or by a rivet and a screw or by two screws, whereby the areas of the freely protruding threaded shaft pieces are riveted after screwing on, so that they cannot be removed by unscrewing.

In order to adjust the holder to a small distance from the fixed parts of the motor vehicle, such as the outer area of the adjacent brake drum when the wheel claws are mounted on the wheel, a large number of mounting holes or threaded holes that fit together in pairs are provided in the holder and/or the upper part of the inner single claw.

wheel half 3, the latter being inserted with its insertion leg 21 into the sleeve 4 and being held by a cylinder lock 5 which _sits in the inner claw half 2 and whose pin 6 projects into a hole 7 in the outer claw half 3. In order to adjust the wheel claw 1 to a tight fit around the tire profile θ and the rim edges 9, a plurality of holes 7 are provided next to one another in the insertion leg 21 of the outer claw half 3.

In the outer area 20 of the inner claw half 2, a holder 10 is arranged through the rivet 11 and the hexagon socket screw 12, which extends with its holding area 13 into the space behind the cover 14 of the brake drum 15, and is located here at a small distance 18 from the former. This prevents the wheel with the wheel claw 1 from being removed in order to replace it. In the holder 10, several threaded holes 16 are provided in the radius around the connection of the rivet 11, so that the holder 10 can be brought into the mentioned position with respect to the small distance 18 when it is first fitted.

After this, the protruding area 19 of the hexagon socket screw 12 can be upset by riveting, so that the screw 12 cannot be removed without removing the upset part of the protruding area by machining, which is only possible when the wheel clamp 1 is removed.

The opposite procedure can also be used, whereby in the outer region 20 of the inner claw half 2 several holes are provided in the radius around an overlying rivet connection between the inner claw half 2 and the holder 10 b7w.
