Description

Process for making paper yarns Most of the known woven fibers on the other hand, the paper yarns have a relatively low strength as well as a relatively low strength very low extensibility. This deficiency affects the quality of the yarn manufactured goods and is also a hindrance to some possible uses Ways, because both in the processing of the yarn as in: the use of the yarn manufactured products the extensibility, inshesondee the elongation, mostly is of great importance. The lack of such is mainly due to the attributable to the low extensibility of the spinning papers used to produce the yarns and it is already being made while spinning the same, i.e. during the production of the Yarn, adversely asserted. Through special treatment, e.g. B. Watering etc., one has already tried to achieve a better elasticity, has thereby but only a partial improvement was achieved.

The new process for producing paper yarn avoids this Disadvantage. It consists in the spinning paper used as the starting material across. b is creped, then the still moist paper web by direct action a pair of rollers (or several such) is pressed together so far that this the crepe wrinkles are essentially made to disappear, and finally the spinning paper prepared in this way is processed into yarn in the usual way. the great extensibility of crepe papers is known per se. For the present purpose, namely for the production of paper yarn, but ordinary crepe papers can not eligible because the more or less pronounced Crepe folds naturally disturb the spinning process or make it completely impossible. The after Paper yarns made by the above process have the desired high level Extensibility in the longitudinal direction without disturbing the spinning process Crepe wrinkles would be to be feared.

It is known per se to place creped or embossed papers between, to subject a pair of pressure rollers to a strong pressure in order to compress the crepe folds. But this known method is not about spinning paper, but to papers for packaging purposes, which also do not help to maintain the extensibility, but to create a smooth surface, i.e. for a completely different purpose, are pressed together. On the other hand, it is known to use transversely creped strips of paper through a nozzle, possibly with simultaneous twist, to pull a braided strand to manufacture. In this known method, however, the transversely creped paper strip not compressed by rollers before twisting in order to hold the pleats tightly together. As a result, the braided strip also has no high elastic elongation.
