Werkstoffvorschubeinrichtung an stangenverarbeitenden, selbsttätigen
Material feed device on bar processing, automatic
Lathes The bar feed for automatic lathes with weight feed
so far in such a way that the rod guide tube is slotted in the longitudinal direction
and through this slot a tongue of a valve sliding in the pipe protrudes,
on which a string pulled by a weight pulls, causing the front of the slider
lying, rapidly rotating rod is pushed forward into the work spindle. Except
the noise caused by the rod in the pipe is caused by the
Hitting the slot edges in the tube often caused severe damage to the rod.
The installation of a known noise-dampening spiral in the guide tube was a result
of the slot is not possible. Flexible bumpers in the form of are also known
long helical springs, which, although through a bend in one of the feed directions, were placed in the opposite direction

the invention made possible to use unslotted guide tubes, which in turn
allow the installation of a noise-dampening spiral without the attachment
a second tube to guide the bumper would be required.

In the figures, at the end of the rod guide tube 2 on the arm 7, the drum 5 is rotatably mounted around the bolt 8 at an angle to the tube axis so that a steel band wrapped laterally in the drum is guided by the roller zi and the as the drum rotates in the direction of the arrow Guide 12 pushes into the tube. While one end of the steel band q. is fastened by the screws 6 on the drum edge, the end located in the tube is in a fixed connection with the slide 3, which touches the rod i. The cord 9, on which the weight is suspended, is wound around the lateral hub of the drum. By pulling the weight io the drum 5 is rotated in the direction of the arrow and causes the slide in the tube to move in the tube and the rod i in the direction of the arrow into the work spindle of the lathe 13 with each advance of the bar by unwinding the steel band q. Since the steel band is only slightly narrower than the pipe diameter, it is kept stiff and thus acts as a bumper. When a new rod is inserted, the steel band rewinds into the drum, which rotates and rewinds the weight cord 9.
