Process for the production of gas-clouded enamels and glasses Die
The invention relates to a method for the production of gas bubbles by means of
opacified enamels and glasses, in particular for the production of gas bubbles
clouded wet enamel. The invention is that the cloudiness by vegetable
or animal oils or fats are used as gas-emitting substances. The usage of
such vegetable or animal fats, which individually or in combination with one another
can be added to the enamel mass or the frit, has the advantage that the
Opacifiers are gasified essentially without residues when the enamel is blown into the egg,
so that a discoloration, which when using the usual opacifying agents, such as tar,
Pitch, asphalt, etc., through which residues of the opacifier occur, are avoided
will. 1>; i5 method according to the invention is therefore particularly important for white-cloudy
Emails in which the @@ 'eiß @@ trt due to the elimination of discolouring
Residues can be increased significantly. Also by the invention
the further advantage achieved that the application of the enamel is made easier because
the enamel ground with the gas opacifier on the mill is not discolored,
while the gray discoloration caused by the usual gas-emitting substances
of the enamel made the job of application more difficult, since the opacity of the enamel
was difficult to assess due to the gray discoloration.
d. h. also auch solche Emailmassen bzw.
Because of the poor combustion of the gas-emitting substances or the
non-gasifying residues of these substances was previously not possible with
common industrial enamel, which is known to be not or only weakly colloidal,
to work, Jlan was therefore forced to use colloidal enamels, which the
Gas opaque agents are better adsorbed, with the lighter adsorption
one
finer distribution and thus a slightly better combustion of the coal particles
was made possible. In contrast, the present invention now offers the advantage
that conventional, non-colloidal enamel masses or slips can be used,
d. H. thus also such enamel masses or slips, «-elche so far only with solid opacifiers,
but could not be used with gas opacifiers. Even in non-colloidal ones
In the process according to the invention, the opacifier is well absorbed in enamels,
so that complete combustion is possible. Due to the previously unattainable
good adsorption of the gas opacifiers can be obtained from one with the known enamels
Gas opacifiers previously unattainable whiteness.
In order to obtain a dry gas opacifier, the gas-emitting
Substances of effective vegetable or animal oils or fats before they are added to the enamel mass
or added to the slip, in a similar way to the other gas opacifiers
adsorbed on clay. In this way they can be vegetable or animal
Oils and fats can also be used for dry or powder enameling processes.
However, it is also advantageous for wet enamelling processes to use these oils or fats beforehand
to adsorb on clay, since the gas opacifier is better in this way
the frit can be mixed. The fact that the gas-emitting substances already exist beforehand
are adsorbed on clay, a very extensive adsorption of the gas opacifier becomes
achieved in the enamel, which has not yet been achieved when using the known gas opacifiers
could be achieved.
Such vegetable or animal substances that are effective as gas-emitting substances
Oils and fats are z. B. linseed oil, varnish, olive oil, lard, etc. Example Die
Vegetable or animal oils or fats that are effective as gas-emitting substances
are adsorbed on finely ground clay, namely "in such a way that the clay is reduced to about q.o
is heated to 5o ° C and the oils or fats are added while stirring.
Here, 1 part by weight of oil or fat is mixed with 9 parts by weight of clay.
When mixed, strong lumps are formed which are ground in a drum mill or the like
will. After grinding, the oils or fats are completely adsorbed on the clay.
The gas opacifier thus obtained will be used as follows: 100 g of enamel
60 g of clay were added in the usual way. Then 8 g of the adsorbed on clay
Oils or fats added to existing gas opacifiers. There are also about
40% water. The mixture is finely ground on the mill for approximately 6 hours.
The enamel slip obtained in this way is applied and baked in the usual way.
