A diffuser for diffusing a turbulent jet of air along a vertical axis (yy') comprises a cylindrical casing (1) having a top face (3) with an axial air flow inlet opening (11), and a bottom face (5). The top (3) and bottom (5) faces of the cylindrical casing (1) are two identical polygons having a sawtooth outline, defining tooth flanks therebetween, a first flank (9) of a tooth being substantially perpendicular to the second flank (7) of an adjacent tooth, said first flank consisting of a wall providing substantially tangential deflection of the air, and the second flank constituting an air outlet orifice (7) directed substantially radially with respect to the casing (1). The bottom face (5) of the casing (1) is without openings.
